  1. Z4ish front and TVRish back?
  2. My neighbour opposite has a V6 A4 and moved literally three streets away, about 4 minutes walk, and his insurance premium doubled. It is a bit of a farce insurance premiums because they put so much weight on postcode, it only takes a couple of issues with reports of cars being stolen in your postcode to suddenly make the algorithm go mental. Pretty sure insurance premium algorithms were put together in the 80s by a bunch of GCSE students and have been left running to their own devices ever since. I had a 1.1 Polo banger as a first car, insurance was £600 per year annual paid up front, that was back in 1992...
  3. Just a note on day 3, when I went to watch sumo we went for the whole event. The early morning was pretty quiet and the place half full, it doesnt really liven up until the later bouts. The best wrestlers come on at the end, after the last fight its customary for the people watching ringside (who sit on cushions on the floor) throw all the cushions into the ring and cheer. Loads to do at the place itself though, you can walk around and see the little museums, eat sumo food, actually meet the sumo wrestlers as they tend to wander around and mingle with fans as well as see their supermodel stick thin girlfriends!
  4. Worth a go, looks a bit different - as Wasso said though it looks a bit rough (sorry but I guess you invite opinion posting it on here!) As it is literally a microthin layer of material overlaid it will highlight any issues with the surface of the plastic. Usually this is all smoothed back before dipping so its flat and you don't see it like you do above? I am also highly OCD for reference...
  5. Whenever I asked for directions in Tokyo it was very normal behaviour for the people to walk you to the place if it was close by!
  6. Its a good idea, paying normal fares is not cheap. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2361.html You only need ordinary fare, green cars are lovely (1st class) but no journey will be more than a few hours.

  8. Fuji is well worth a go if its in season, just got all nostalgic and found some photos... ...and the view from my apartment in the mornings! Hmmmm not jealous of your trip at all - I want to go back!
  9. You can get a tourist pass for the travel, you usually buy it at the airport using your passport as proof of being foreign and it gives you cheap travel. Havent done it for a long time so maybe Will might know more!
  10. Disney Sea is streets ahead of Disney Land, better rides and the evening entertainment where the dragon comes out of the water, well thats incredible. If you have spare time, you can always walk up and down Fuji over two days - watch the sunrise at dawn from the top. Not sure if you can do it in late April though, can't remember if thats out of season. Outside of Tokyo...Nara is a great place to visit for the heritage - both Hiroshima and Nagasaki are worth visiting for the A Bomb site memorials, very emotional. I lived in Yotsuya, about 10 minutes walk from Chiyoda I think its called where the Imperial Palace is, an easy trip to see as it very central. In terms of Pachinko, worth going to Akasaka near Yotsuya, loads of places there along with little alleyways and cool restaurants. Oh and try go to Odaiba in the evening, you can get the tram over the Rainbow bridge and they have a cool shopping complex there, onsen, various electronic manufacturers buildings (more interesting than you would think!).
  11. GT40 looks amazing, better looking car and a step on, looks like the NSX got designed in 2010

    What is this

As above, its a mic for the hands free.
  14. that would be awesome thank you. I am going to update this thread with a rough itinerary we were looking at. Found this thread http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/89929-look-out-japan-here-we-come/ Worth a read. But the itinerary would be useful - if you already have some ideas about what you like doing. I could recommend climbing Fuji over the weekend and skiing in Nagano but if exercise isn't your thing..!
  15. Very pretty - looks a bit like an R8
  16. Can anyone point me to the turning 40 this year part of the forum!
  17. Good to see people doing Japan as a tourist destination - often people stop in Thailand and then skip on to Oz but Japan is amazing. I will dig out some of my posts on threads later tonight, I was living there about 8 years ago now and like above do not remember seeing modified cars drifting down mountain sides...maybe I was in the wrong bit
  18. My son Alfie was 8 months old when he went to his first Zed meet - even turned up in a 350z onsie
  19. Very jealous of your garage space, would love to do something like that - although even if I had the garage the lack of actual practical skills might hold me back!
  20. PHENOMENAL effort Darren mate, haven't looked at this thread in a while and its looking like it will be a stunning car once done.
  21. I agree, on some levels that actually works...too many stickers for me but otherwise not too bad.
  22. What..Didn't you invite him in for a cup of tea, and let him sort it out on your kitchen table while you were counting his dosh...??? He insisted! He was far too excited about the car!
  23. Sold my Skyline a couple of months back and the buyer sat in it outside my house sorting out tax and insurance over the phone - did both, took about 10 mins.
  24. ah, bingo!
  25. Wasnt there some awful white ferrari replica kit on here some time back? Anyway, in the meantime an if you work in a supermarket, why not make the most of freely available parts?
