  1. I'd love to go see this but alas most of my friends know the same amount about motorsport as I do ballet...
  2. I was always told dealers can't sell CAT D cars and had to auction them? Whether that is true or not, run away and don't look back. EDIT: Actually, go back and offer £400 for the alloys .
  3. I'm REALLY not looking forward to going to work on Monday .
  4. How are you finding the BMW? Is it a 3 series? I may be looking for a change myself in the next 6 months to be honest.
  5. My clutch isn't slipping, but I have noticed the biting point being much higher than when I got it 12000 miles ago. I hope it will hold out a little longer .
  6. We usually pay our money to someone on here and they bulk buy our tickets which we collect on the day when we meet up somewhere. As we're a club we also get stand passes. When the orders for tickets starts, someone will give all the details then .

    MoT Pass

Mine goes in next week. Should fly through as it is only a 57 plate, but I have a feeling the tyres are getting close... Oh and the biting point on the clutch is getting high, so I have a feeling a clutch change may be due, but that shouldn't affect an MOT.
  8. I love the fact that it has a built in walkie talkie system, that just goes to tell you that must be insanely loud inside.....and frickin awesome. It does look like fun. I love how it looks classic on the outside and people would never really glance twice at it other than the fact it is mint looking. Why wouldn't I get that specific one? I don't see any heaters and it is 1degree outside at the moment .
  9. 3D is a format that is still in the balance of making it or not. Sales of 3D TV's are on the rise, but nowhere near what electronic companies want them to be (especially Sony as they own BluRay). When I got my TV a year ago it was about £800-1000 (with a few goodies), a 3D TV now is much less so hopefully more people will look at getting one on their next purchase. I think that is why so many films are released in multi-format ways (3D BluRay, BluRay & DVD). What really annoyed me was Jackass 3D, a movie filmed and created with 3D in mind didn't release on a 3D format BluRay. What will save 3D is when they manage to get a TV that can project 3D without glasses (like the 3DS). The issue there is those of us who invested in the technology when it came out will have a dead format (same happened to HD-DVD). 3D films are hit and miss, but that depends on the quality of the film. I don't have many 3D films, as they are still not very common. The best I have seen so far is Thor.
  10. 99.9% of insurers won't cover you if you crash your car on a track or toll road (like the Nürburgring). I'm not sure, but I would expect part of the cost for track time will probably cover some sort of legal cover if you injure someone else etc.
  11. *sigh* I was going to give this one a go this year. Like with Japfest I can't commit, I start a new job at the end of this month and have no idea what my shift pattern will be until March/April time. It really does look like fun. Anyone thinking about going should just go for it!
  12. I got a 3D TV last year after Christmas. No one even knew what a 1.4 cable was then. The one shop that sold it wanted £104 for it (Maplin). I went home and looked on eBay, £3 later and I had one coming from Hong Kong. Turned up in something like 5 days and I'm still using it now. A guy I work with used to work for Comet or Curry's and he said the reason why they push the cables so much was they got about 40-50% commission for electrically accessories. They will lie to you also, saying an expensive cable (usually Monster branded) will give you a better picture. A lot of BluRay films now come as 3D, BluRay and DVD bundles. Pick up Thor if you can. Resident Evil 3 is pretty good too.
  13. I love F1, always have. The last few years has become somewhat boring though. Now it is going over to Sky for 50% of the races, I'll probably catch a handful of races a season. Rally is good, but again I rarely see it on TV.
  14. 23 here, 24 at the end of this month. Not sure what I want to do with my Zed at the moment though. I'm getting a little bored of it (don't hurt me). I don't know if that is because I just don't get to drive it for dun as much as I did before or if it is because I just shelled out £460 to tax it for a year and I'm feeling a little bitter... I want a fun car for a few years, but the car I want is far from practical and would probably be unbearable to live with. Link to what I want below... Classic from the outside, insane on the inside. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3225678.htm
  15. Still have no idea if I can make it. I will be relying upon having the day as a rest day from work and praying that day isn't cancelled at short notice. It was great fun last year. Either way I'm in for a ticket & stand pass, even if I give it away when I find out if I can/can't make it. It's a bummer as I know I would have been free that weekend now, but my training course has been messed around with so I will be finishing it two weeks early .
  16. I've given up on console gaming now to be honest. I just don't have the time. I find with PC games you can just put something on play one or two rounds and go back to what I was doing, with the PS3 I feel compelled to play for a few hours at a time. I must say, I haven't played a Need for Speed since umm the PS2 I think .
  17. Feels like I haven't posted here in ages (probably because I haven't). I've been really busy with training for a new job and holding down my current job at the same time. I rarely get time to visit the forums I am a member of at the moment. Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I'll revive this one. My man cave is a little different than the others here though. In the spare time I did have, I built my own home gym. I got fed up of paying extortionate amounts for my gym which was always packed and I would spend most of my time waiting to use something. Also, you get the stuff you need in a gym rather than what "fitness professionals" think you need (no disrespect to anyone here who may be a fitness trainer, but there are some really bad ones out there). Built it over a few weeks, it's about 15ft x 10ft. I would have liked to make it bigger but I used a concrete base already there from an old shed. Once finished I started moving in my equipment as well as adding a few bits, it is pretty much finished now. All I need to do is run a few more wires to give myself a few sockets so I can get my radio down there and an electric heater for the winter as the Calorgas one takes up too much space. I have just finished putting in some new gym mats to keep the noise down (less echo & stop weights crashing down a bit). Ignore the box in the background, that's sadly another hobby on hold at the moment due to lack of time. IronMaster Dumbbells. Best adjustable dumbbells on the market, better than Powerblocks in my opinion. Loads of weights on other equipment
  18. Martin I won't find out until April next year as I will be going onto a new shift pattern. When it comes around to it, I'll be more than happy to buy a ticket & organise a stand pass for me and if I can make it I'll be there if not, let someone know and they can have my ticket like we did for a few others last year. I had a great time last year, but I'll be in a new job with 0% chance of getting time off, so I am relying on sheer luck it lands on my day off .
  19. I'm hoping to be there again next year, but I'm starting at a new base on the 7th May next year and have no idea when I will be off. Chances are I won't be free .
  20. Ong Bak was aimed at the western audience more than anything. Ong Bak 2 and 3 were aimed at a traditional audience. I really enjoyed them myself but I know where you are coming from. I have quite a vast taste in films but one which I really like and is well worth picking up is the film Hackers. It has a young Angelina Jolie in and is a great watch. Everyone has to see Drunken Master (Classic Jackie Chan film). Some of my other favourites include Monster, Tommy & A Clockwork Orange.
  21. I have a few for May but none are as good as most here The Ginger Ninja
  22. Never really used the Xbox controller before but from what I have heard it is better than the PS3 controller. What REALLY annoys me is Sony made the PS3 to have keyboard and mouse as an option and as far as I know only one game utilized it (Unreal Tournament III). If they had it on games like Battlefield and CoD they could eat up some of the casual PC gaming market (probably wont get die-hard PC gamers though). On a side note I got Uncharted 2 and whilst I liked it I got bored and never did finish it. I rarely have time for anything but FPS now, so much easier to just jump in for 20 minutes then leave. I remember the days where I could play games for hours after work with a few beers and a pizza with friends but with the job I now have I just don't get the time.
  23. Keyboard and mouse is much better for me. No sticks to find a target just move the mouse and click. I think I played Black Ops once on the PS3 online and realised how much I missed the PC for FPS .
  24. +1 FPS games are far better on PC oh and the graphics are much better on PC than consoles . I'll be playing it on the No-Heroes servers as they will be setting them up ready for release. www.no-heroes.com Feel free to add me on the PS3 though don't get on much any more though, PSN: Continuity
