  2. how often does this need doin? had mine on since february
  3. +1 but i still bang a bit of wax on now and then just to protect the paint a bit
  4. load of @*!#. you can make you car look just as good over 1 sunday mornign / afternoon!
  5. A lot of schumies pace came from relentless testing with ferrari. he came back into an entirely new world of F1 and the young guns are showing him up in terms of raw talent.
  6. Lots of drivers showing their class today. good race!
  7. i really enjowed it. the F3 was a little boring as usual nut everything else was great. The Second GT race with the Safety car turned out to be a right stonker! Those 911s are... errrm.... the noise of the SLS sounds great too, the brothers who race in it used to have an ascari that sounded like the god of thunder. i guess they like Beasty sounding cars ^^ 2nd was a good result for them.
  8. ready for tomorrow now. wont be in my Zed though, a couple more of us are going down so were going in my mates baby blue 1.2 automatic micra... oh the shame I'll keep an eye out for your Zed. i'll be donning a rocket red Mclaren victory T-shirt so if u see me looking around your car, im admiring, not planning to steal
  9. that looks amazing. I bet you can't stop stroking it ^^. as above Quite interested in he cost i fu don't mind me asking
  10. Will also be going to world GT1 at silverstone (GT1 is most likely the best racing i have seen in the past decade) and i think i will be doing the camping weekend at silverstone for formula 1.
  11. Was a great race. I didn't have time to watch it until after work last night on Iplayer. my battle with not answering the phone, looking at facebook or F1 websites and being like a ninja on the radio off button whenever the sport came on was definately worth it. I think hamilton demonstrated his class with all of those overtakes. was a great move on JB and his relentless ploughing through the pack was fantastic to watch. the other drivers definately have respect for him out on track. The ferraris and mercedes seem very close to each other on pace at the moment. It has been nice to see Massa stepping his game up too recently, at this rate he may be able to keep his seat at ferrari. Phenominal drive from webber too. He demonstrated the true pace of the red bull, had vettel been on a 3 stop i think he would have ran away with it again so long as his strategy / race position allowed him to get ahead of the Mclarens. Great race by everyone today, except pirez. that move on sutil was shocking! Showing his inexperience there. I think Di resta is showing the mark of a great driver. He seems to be consistantly quick and reliable. Did a great job of bringing the car home on sunday dispite having no full-fuel testing. The tyres seem to be the most important thing this season. as webber said in the press conference, tyre strategy seems to be a priority above grid position in terms of where you are on the last lap. It would be nice if the hard tyre was a bit more durabel. It just seems to be as durable as the soft but with less performance. I think if it were more durable we would be able to see these mixed strategies without people falling off the race track at the end. That said, it was a phenominal race on sunday! I cant wait for istanbul. had my rocket red T-shirt on last night
  12. Just to let you know i will be going to this. i will be parking at nicklebrook (or however its spealt) Bring on the GTs!!!!!!!!!!!! look out for a filthy Silver 350z (its a long drive) parked there and i might be getting out of it. also lok out for the green 911 in the GT race. sounded soooo nice last year and i think that team won the championship. shame the ascari team is not in it this year as that was a beast!!! Hoping for good weather.
  13. here it is: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... ler_Years/
  14. there was a good one about the "killer season" on sunday night - 60s and 70s. not sure what channel but it migt have been bbc
  15. yes it is mate. i thought with my car being the dark grey (gun metal?) it would look a lot nicer with darker windows. didnt expect it to be as pricey as it was, and being quite skint at the moment it may have to wait. i was also a bit concerened about the film pealing off and looking crap. does this happen?
  16. I agree, hes just not been the same since Germany last year,he seems to have just lost all of his competitiveness,he now gets in the car and drives it,no conviction or will to win. Like you said,in 08 i think,he came within 1 corner of winning the championship, and now hes a nobody really. Such a shame. yeah. i think everytime alonso comes up behind him he gets an image of an italian mobster beating his family to death and moves over. he seems to have that why bother attitude. that said he did defend well against button at the start of the race. Daryl what is your role within the RB team? ...intrigued Kubica does seem to bounce back well from injury but the fact that his hand was nearly severed has me thinking he might not be physically capable of driving as well as he could. i can't wait till the next race. i should be going to silverstone this year too
  17. Vettell is a truly amazing driver, however he is not the only one on the grid. that said though i really like him. funny bloke allways cracks a joke. if any of you watched the forum yesterday he cracked a joke that coultard (it was his 40th birthday) was getting too old and shat himself when he had a cake stain on his clothes. He seems to have grown up a lot, much like hamilton after he won a championship, but is still very hot-headed, but so are hamilton and alonso (in my opinion the top 3 drivers on the grid). this is why all 3 of them have this extra pace and usually seem to be able to deliver better than their team-mates. in my opinion you need a bit of rage and craziness to be a good (and entertaining) F1 driver. i think webber, button and the likes of rosberg etc sometimes seem to lack this inner fury and miss opertunities because of it. not that being like this doesnt get you into trouble sometimes but i think its what gives the all time greats their edge. also i think kobayashi has it, but it seems as though he is getting a little more sensible these days, i hope he doesnt turn into a boring bring the car home mid-runner. Sato definately had it, shame he was crap though, lol! i love watching hamilton as a driver and his attitude to racing is brilliant. i think he is a bit of a bitch to the cameras sometimes though. my favourite driver was probably kubica though. as he seemed to never get phased by all the media hype but allways performed incerdibly, easily as fast as any other driver on the grid. he lead the championship at one point in a BMW for christs sake. the rookies had a great weekend too. nice to see another brit on the grid and Perez looks promising. Petrov finally got his first podium too. i allways knew he was good, maybe not quite on par with the big 3,but still good. he just crashed a lot in his first season coz he was a noob who got into F1 by driving on snow KERS hmm, i guess its a good idea as it will help develope the idea for use in other technologies but if they say its to make F1 greener its a load of testicles. the carbon footprint from the fuel burned in the race is negligable when compared to that of the facilities and logistics of the sport. The DRS, yeah its ok but i cant help but wonder if those overtakes would have been made by slipstreaming alone. IMHO they are controlling it too much. only being allowed to use it at certain points in the race is rediculous. also after adrian's incident it wouldnt suprise me if they bann it in qualy for being dangerous. i love F1 oh, and i think Vettell was probably taking the **** with his stupid quotes, thats the sort of guy he is.
  18. yes i'm aware of the laws, i said i would want as dark as is legeal on the sides, then the rest to match those. or do you think it would look better to go darker on the back?
  19. Hello everyone I just got a quote from a company for privacy glass on my 350z ( all windows except the windscreen ) There are 2 things that i'm unsure about as ive never had tints done before. Firstly, they would be applying film. i am a bit worried that this may peel after a while. i know its a common way of doing it but it seems a bit cheap to me. is there not a better way to do it or does the film give a good result? Secondly, they have quoted £295. this seems awefully expensive to me considering the size of the windows. even if you say £50 for the film, which i would have thought is plenty, this is would still work out at over 8 hours at £40 per hour. Is this a hefty quote or is this how much it costs? - i would rather spend that money on other things for the car if this is the going rate. please only comment if you have prior experience of cost / quality.
  20. im sure thaere will be some sandbagging goin on. we'll see the true pace tomorrow morning gonna be a tough one but im gna try and get up to watch it.
  21. Brim it, Drive it down to about 20 miles to empty, Repeat. The way i see it, people who chuck the odd tenner in now and then spend half their time worrying about fuel and looking for the nearest petrol station. - that said, im the only person who drives my car. if i was sharing it i wouldnt leave a Gas guzzling coupe with 70 quids worth of fuel in for someone else to **** down the wall, no matter how close to me they were. The downside is that often i just fill it up, pay on my card without realy looking at how much i'm paying, then wonder wheer all my money goes.
  22. mine came on friday and fitted them straight away. seem to be an improvement on the bouncey, skitty ones i had on before. And they look much nicer. Thanks for the reccomendation
  23. i must admit i went in my freinds A5 drop top 2 litre TD and it was incredibly smooth. as far as daily driving is concerned, they are faultless. great torque where you need it most. any gear really smooth strong torque delivery. they have similar engines across the entire vag range so youre safe with any of them, the new(ish) leon FR diesil looks fantastic, drives well and gives more than you could want from a diesil hatch. if i had the space i would get an old westfield for a few grand for fun (they wont drop much below this value) and an VAG deisil for daily. but as you can probably tell from my last post. theres a big difference between a hairy arsed full on drivers car like the Z, and a good deisil hatch that is tuned to fit a sporty daily drivers market. but i guess that depends what you want. - personally i like to give it a squirt whenever i feel like it, so running a Z as a daily makes good sense - great drive but easy to live with. however if you want to save the most money driving every day. you will save money by having a cheep DERV and only running a cheap no-comprimise car over the summer, or only on track. tough decision. alternatively. i nice sporty medium size car like a 3-series or a focus st ( RS ) would give you a bit of both worlds, and dont forget, in the real world, one car is probably going to be cheaper than 2 after tax MOT and servicing.
  24. i'm only in my early twenties and streching my finances to the limit to buy the Z was probably the stupidest thing i have ever done. a couple of months down the line and my old gti stilll hasnt gone and im still down the pooper as far as money is concerned. but i still manage to scrape my way through rent and living costs day to day and everytime i take the Z out, even just the 10 min journey to work, with the brilliant steering and V6 noise i find myself giggling to myself and patting the steering wheel, "good car" i'm completely smitten with it, and allthough i have to be careful with my finances, i don't think i could live with myself going back to a luke warm hatch with rubbery steering and no sense of occasion. the stupidest thing i ever bought. probably also the greatest..... still wanna sell it?
  25. It sounds alot more meatier and it breathes flames when giving it some. Time for a remap soon to sort out the fuel mixtures. MMMmmmmm Flames anyone else with De-cats ever had this? i bet you get a lot of in your rear view mirror. also have you got resonated or non-res decat pipes?
