  1. If anyone has any expertise, I could do with a little guidance here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=48490
  2. Hello all, I'm hoping that someone with a little more experience can help me out here. I'm new to wrapping, but really enjoying it. What I've done so far: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=48473 One area that I'm struggling with is concave sections, such as the dimples on the strut cover, or any kind of indentation. When the vinyl is heated it shrinks slightly, pulling them flat. The temp inside a car in the sun is easily enough to trigger this. What is the correct technique for wrapping parts like that?
  3. If you want to do OBDII to iPhone you need a wifi dongle not bluetooth. They cost a little more dollar though http://www.plxkiwi.com/kiwiwifi/hardware.html I have one on my birthday wishlist
  4. Cheers - not sure if the dimples will stay there once the sun gets on them though - either way it's better than being all scratched.
  5. Removed the cover, removed the badge, wrapped, replaced the badge, re-fitted. Quite happy for my first go! I also replaced the missing side badge. A productive evening
  6. Well I used some glue that's used to keep the glass in oven doors Fingers crossed that holds it!
  7. I now have a replacement badge for mine that was nicked How was it origianally held on though? Clips or just glue? The new one has locating pins but no clips....?
  8. Ello all, I want to remove my strut brace cover to wrap it, but can't seem to make it budge. Remove the two end pieces and there doesnt appear to be anything else holding it in but it's stuck solid - more brute force needed?? What am I missing?
  9. The spray might be better for some people http://www.airfix.com/humbrol-paints-an ... ers-spray/
  10. Whey hey! Guess who I work for! Will have keep a couple of tinlets jusg in case
  11. Nissan 350Z.....talk to me! - Terry Tibbs
  12. Sometimes. The seller of mine turned out to be a debt collector......so maybe it wasn't even his car to sell! (paperwork checked out as did the usual checks) Oh, and Nissan did a health check on it for me and reported all OK except the brakes in need of replacing - which I'm doing at the moment.
  13. Interestingly I bought a possibly iffy 2004 car early this year. No service history, the only photo was of it under some snow, and priced at £7500 (with 39k on the clock). I went to take a look and the seller had it valeted, refurbed the wheels (not brilliantly, but looked good), fitted brand new tyres and gave me a few spares he had kicking about for it. Biggest problem was due to the weather we couldn't test drive it. He claimed that the garage had lost the service book when it had it's last service and promised he would get a replacement from them. I didn't have any faith in getting the service book but the car looked good and felt solid with no real signs of wear and tear on the inside or outside. Bought it - having tons of fun. Always wondered if it'd be worth trying to get the service history on it - and how I'd do it. Call the Nissan garage he said did the work? It's got 41k on it now - is it due another service yet?
  14. Ello all. I'm after some redstuff front pads and some sexy looking discs - my current ones are cheap as chips plain and almost non-existent now! What discs and where from? I was looking at Cougar Store but the site is up and whenever I try to browse it
  15. After giving the car it's first good clean since I bought it (4hrs! snowfoam, wash, dry, clay, demon shine) I really noticed the stone chips on the front, and a couple of small chips elsewhere on the body work. What is the best solution - preferably easily DIY - that I can do to fix these? The front it looking very peppered It's gunmetal grey if that makes any difference. Is it possible to get a clear wrap for the bonnet and bumper once they are all cleaned up?
  16. Weird double posting. Blame the iPhone!
