  1. none near me i'm afraid - hoping the forum will be able to help
  2. After mine got vandalised recently I'm in need of any of either a new wiper arm, or a part of it. You can see the bit I am missing in this pic: http://imgur.com/EFtVW It should be a metal bar with a hook at both ends, as shown here if you have a rusty old wiper arm going cheap, or a broken one you need to lose - I'll gladly take this itty bitty part off you.
  3. So how much should I be able to twist the belts? Last thing I want to do is over-tighten them and put strain elsewhere.
  4. Yeah I got the belts from Zmanalex (of course!). I don't know if they are tight enough, or even if it's ok to thrash it. I would have thought squealing = slipping = friction = heat = possibly snapping them.
  5. I'm not able to go, but once you (whoever wants to organise) knows how many cars (and when) will be going through Eurotunnel drop me a PM. Might be able to help out.
  6. Bit puzzled by this as I'm used to it being the other way round (squealing when starting). Late last year when it had a full service I had the belt changed. It squealed on damp mornings, and I ended up going back to the garage to have it tightened a couple more times. The garage was reluctant to tighten it any more than it is. Now it's started squealing at 3k rpm and up while driving. Tighten it some more?
  7. You, sir, are a god damn legend! Thank you! Annoyingly it looks like im missing the little metal hook that goes between the hinge and spring. Tempting to go back to the carpark and look for it. I doubt any of the traders here will be able to help. Thank you again. Really appreciated!
  8. It was left in a decent well lit car park, with other cars around it. Wish I'd taken a photo now before bending the wiper arm back down. Nothing appears broken despite it being bent so far back. But I still need to know if there is just the spring under the arm or if there should be another piece between the hook of the spring and the bar on the wiper arm. Can anyone slide a mirror under theirs to look for me? I'd rather not remove the wiper arm - personal preference! If I do remove it it will be because I want to, but because some scumbag breaks it!
  9. At 3am last night I came back to my car last night to find some upstanding member of the puplic had kindly pulled the rear wiper arm about 2ft away from the glass. Apart from etching "SC" in the ice on the windscreen nothing else has been touched thankfully. On the floor by the car I found the plastic hinge cover and spring. Ive tried putting the spring back on the arm but either the spring needs to be pulled about 3" longer or I have another part missing. Anyone got any photos or exploded diagram of the wiper arm? Throughly pi**ed off, but grateful nothing else was damaged.
  10. Just wondering what the cost of that was? I was having small issues with 5th and then 2nd, but after changing the oil it seems ok again - possibly only a matter of time though.
  11. I don't know who is more annoying - the scouse or the posh brudder who put it on youtube.
  12. Yup thats exactly right. Changed the rears a couple of months ago as it sounded like it was coming from the rear - but the garage can't find any play in anything suspension related. What's the going rate for some front droplinks now?
  13. My suspension seems to have been getting progressively louder and clunkier of late, and feels crashy rather than smooth. I'm actually finding my Fabia nicer to drive! I'm sure it never used to be this way. Suggestions?
  14. I know it's bad at the moment but it was very cheap and came with snow tyres on spare alloys and 2 more spare tyres on steelies. Perfect for the winter and commuting.
  15. It'll almost certainly be black, as it's cheap and easily available. The interior is beige and black, so a light colour will just look gross together!
  16. You must be local to me, as that tunnel is on the A20 leaving Folkstone It's currently a 30mph limit through there while they repair the bridge joins Would love to see this in person sometime!
  17. I really fancy trying my hand at wrapping an entire car - I've done some small fiddly bits of interior before (switch panels, strut brace), and the front lip, but I want to have a crack at some big panels I have my winter shed: It's looks teal in person - the photo is very kind to it! I'm thinking of simple gloss black instead. Plan is to do what I can with a friend (who has a body shop and is well versed in stripping and prepping cars), and if I get really stuck use a local company to finish it up. Thoughts?
  18. It works, but I didn't realise that I needed to run an extra wire to the HU to tell it when it was in reverse - but strangely it switches to it automatically anyay - but not off again. Very strange. Contemplating if I should pull the HU out again and run the extra wire :s It's such a PITA.
  19. I've searched but can't seem to find where to buy these from! Urgently need one for my new daily driver!
  20. I told them that in 2008 two vehicles were involved in an accident infront of me, and that one of the vehicles rolled backwards into my car and it went down on my insurance as "partial fault". She said this didn't matter anymore Will have to call back tomorrow and ask.
  21. I just moved from Elephant for the 350Z to Admiral for the 350Z plus a Skoda Fabia. They told me I couldn't use my NCB on both cars - so I used it on the nissan (£350 a year! ftw!). Spoke to a mate that night, and they let him use his NCB on his RX-8 and X5! Calling them back tomorrow to see what they have to say!
