Not too far from me these guys so i may give them a bell before the weeks out. The missus works in york too.

This thread is definitely making it seem like it's something I need to be doing. Mine's coming up to around 96k and the gauge (on the dash, I haven't had it measured 'properly' yet) is sitting between 0 and 30 when warm and idle, so it may well be in that risk zone. Oh well. Another job. Just got to find a garage capable of tackling it within a decent time frame now. My local has done all sorts on my motor but they haven't ever tackled this on any HR before which normally suggests an hour or so extra for head scratching. A frustrating and costly issue but needs must i guess.

I'm assuming this is a "When they fail" more than an "If they fail"? I've put 90k on the clock since ownership of my HR. Although showing no symptoms I'm thinking this should be my next investment. As nissanman312 said, is there a link to the uprated gaskets? Think I'd rather get them in for my mechanic just to make sure he's fitting the correct ones.

Think i need some lessons in choosing the right back drop, rolling hills beats bins every time. Think I'd have gone silver on a night blue too, looks great. Both dish and concave styles suit the 350 in the correct offsets. Nice.

Well we're approaching that time of year again where new wheel orders start to go in and i figured I'd post up a few images of my HR on 18inch work MCO'S to anyone that's shopping around and considering this style. I was reluctant to go ahead with black on black at first but I'm really chuffed with the results and generally how mean it now looks. Rims are 9.5 fronts et22 and 10.5 rears et22 with a nice concave style to the rears, they sit spot on and for an 18 they look huge too. Pictures don't do it justice but still worth posting.

ha ha the Plato / Neal rivalry does tend to stir up a bit of trouble but i like the guy. It's all action at the end of the day and although occasionally close to the line he hasn't crossed it in my opinion. I'm about 50mins from croft so always hit that for the full weekend but i managed Donnington and Oulton last year too. Matt is definitely a likeable chap, seems to have a decent set up in the focus judging by the rear end of last season but we'll see, always a difficult one to call.

Should be an awesome season this year. I've got a few weekends lined up to absorb as much action as possible. Certainly wipes the floor with F1 in my opinion, although this does split the house somewhat. I'm a bit of a Plato fan and he's come so close the last two seasons so it'd be nice for him to take it this year in the Subaru. I'd like to see Matt Jackson get off to a decent start specially after the first half of 2015 and hopefully Sam Tordoff can rise through the rankings a bit this season. Whatever happens it'll have the usual scuffles and it's going to be ace.

I just had that sickly excited feeling that my wallet was about to be reluctantly emptied on the front lip that had to be bought, only to realize it's pre facelift. Sad times. Great buys for someone, tempted to get a DE as well just so i don't miss out. GLWTS

New member from oxford, quick question.

Best upgrade from stock system would be the Milltek cat back in my opinion, looks the part with the relatively stock looking tail pipes and the noise level is nice and classy. If you want a little more out of it later down the line you can run a set of Hi flow cats like i do. It's a topic that's been covered loads but it's down to personal choice, a lot of diversity on this forum. Welcome to the owners club. -
Seeking a bit of knowledge regarding suspenion knock.

Yeah they seem to be pretty sensitive even with a minor drop so i swapped them both and it's now silent again. I'll see how long i get out of them and maybe look at getting some adjustables next time they fail. I was just a happy it was an easy fix and something i could mess about with on my driveway. -
Yep, the Rev up is the same as the HR but except for the bonnet and the engine. I would have bought a HR but wanted the Azure blue which wasn't available for some reason. 7 years of ownership and i didn't know this. Quite interesting really. Although it took me 4 years to find the rear fog light switch.
-
Did the up rev DE's have HR Lamps and Interior then, but a DE bonnet? Actually it's pretty much a HR with a DE bonnet isn't it cos it's on HR bumpers too. Excluding the engine of course.

Please help! Why have i only got one air intake on my 07 vq35hr?
Hayd350 replied to ZedJosh93's topic in 350Z General
Just keep an eye on your oil pressure. Im running my HR on 92k and trying not to think to much about it. Research suggests its a 50 gasket that costs about 900 to fit. -
I'll take it off your hands mate.

Ordered a 255 / 275 set up. Prefer a straighter wall. Stretch looks great when you're sat on your arse but think the 255 will suit the 17mm tein drop better. We'll see. Cheers for all the input.
-
This is pretty useful. Appreciated. Would yo say a 255 and 275 would look better with matching mild stretch? If you run et25 up front i should be ok with et22. I'm lowered on S Techs too.
-
Nice to see a fellow leaner too. I've been mocked for years about my driving style. Single arm stretched out to the top of the wheel and a subtle yet mildly gangster lean to the centre of the car. I solute you.
-
well if you can manage a 265 i can run a 255 with no issues i imagine.
-
So i'm not loosing it then. 255 front 275 rear suggests stock measurements and matching "stretch" in my eyes
-
Is there any reason you went for a 245 up front? apart from the wild offset's of your rims? You run an 11 on the rear so at least with a 275 you achieve a similar stretch to the fronts. Thinking there's no reason i cant go for a 255 on a 9.5 et 22.
-
Quick question to any one in the know. Looking to order tyres this aft, after all my calculations i was going to purchase a 255 up front and a 275 rear (9.5j et 22 and 10.5j et 20) After a final check there seems to be a lot of people running a 245 up front on a 9.5? Any one any ideas why, i think the 255's are closer to factory spec and match the 275's better.

That's a good shout actually, thanks for that. I'll give this a go and see if it has an effect. -
Bushes bushes bushes...vid in post ! (ok bushings)
Hayd350 replied to RobPhoboS's topic in Suspension
Did you go full kit all over? Did you change them becuase the others were worn, or just because you hoped they'd feel better? Nice vid Robboí ½í±. @ Stu; the front bushes are the ones that commonly fail but all OEM rubber bushes fail to various degrees over time. Shrinking, perishing/cracking, tearing and full blown separation are all degrees of bushing failure. Therefore depending on the degree of failure you may get minimal symptoms or knocking to outright diabolical handling! If you consider that most zeds are over 10yrs old there are a lot out there that would benefit with bushing changes. There is nothing wrong with the OEM bushes except they are to soft and allow excessive mov't which dulls handing and eventually they will fail again bring made of rubber. Secondly the compression arm design was poor which leads to premature compresion bush failure. This issues was addressed by Nissan on the HR and 370z I think. Urethane is better but as the vid shows you need to get well designed ones. I have used Superpro, whiteline and energy suspension. Superpro are up there, whiteline a close second and energy suspension third because some of their bushes are poorly designed. However if you swap those bushes for superpro or whiteline equivalent as I have done for the 2 chaps here you end up with a competent package and some significant savings. Monoball/spherical/rose jointed bushes are the ultimate because there is no bind or stiction and there supension geometry is always maintained optimally as there is no unwanted mov't. However they don't last forever as they are prone to salt corrosion and they are impractical for daily driving. I have been lucky to have been able to swap to full urethane bushes in the past and again to solid monoball bushes which are currently on the car. I have also done the full urethane swap for 2 members here. So I can attest to the fact that every single bush showed significant wear. One thing is for certain the handling is night and day and if you have other suspension mods like ARB, coilovers and adjustable arms it further enhances them. I will be offering a drive in bushing replacement and general suspension service soon and there will be various packages to suit all budgets and usage but in anycase priced very competitively. Morning mate, seems yo have a lot of knowledge regarding the front suspension set up and bush failure. I've got a bit of an issue on my HR now approaching 91k. I've switch both banana arms over the last two years and to be honest cost me a chunk diagnosing those issues. Is there an order in which bushes tend to perish? I've got a creak when i sit in and mild knocking over bumps straight after lowering (Tein springs 17mm) If you could can shed any light on my issue that'd be much appreciated. I did read that the control arms are prone and seen as though i have a creak as soon as i get in i figured it could be the damper mount bush or something? I'm just chucking ideas at it though and it's based on minimal knowledge to be fair. -

Not yet no, although an order has gone in so don't really fancy annihilating the tyre fund on suspension fault finding. To be fair it sounds like a toned down version of the noise emitted from the banana arm bushes when they start to go so i figure it's just another bush on another arm. Just difficult to figure out which one so was curious if there were any other notoriously iffy bushes that would be worth focusing my attention.
