  1. Can anyone tell me what the differences between a standard issue back box from a DE and a HR are? I'm not talking about performance either i'm talking about visual differences and picking one out from the other. This is all based on receiving info from a reliable source that the back boxes are in fact different. Any info, code numbers, shape or bracket position, any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
  2. Yeah i can appreciate you not wanting to post it, shame your not closer as it sounds perfect. Cheers for your help anyway.
  3. Its certainly a trek and a half, not one i could do in the tank with the way its sounding. I'm assuming you have one that would do the job?
  4. I'm in Harrogate mate
  5. Flange has decided to part from the backbox half of my 2008 HR so i'm after a replacement if any ones got one kicking around. I have berks fitted and i'm not really after the aftermarket noise or look so in need of a replacement oem. Cheers in advance.
  6. Ahhh there it is, i'd recognise that rear end anywhere, saw your motor in ilkley last saturday, very nice example and very fat, i'd love to know your wheel offset as well. I was in an E Class cab that day other wise i'd have potentially chased after and harassed you.
  7. Spotted a low, wide black 350 in ilkley on saturday at around 6 ish. Private plate that i recognise off the forum. Attempted to catch up but you were on the grove a few cars infront of me and then all i could do was hear you, you'd vanished. Very clean.
  8. Could have been me. I live in horsforth and i'd be in a black coupe, driving home around that time, potentially on that road, knowing me i'd have flashed when you passed as i'm always slow off the mark. private plate begining with H, that'd be me?
  9. All singing double din - http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=55665&hilit=f900bt Ahhh you see this is what happens, i nip onto the forum for some low cost banter and i log off with visions of carbon, superchargers and touch screen. Now i have to have that "whats on your mind, you've been so distant" chat with the missus again.
  10. nice job. suppose there's a few options i can look at, just interesting to see what others have done. I could always keep the cubby, scrap the bose and get an all singing all dancing double din. Cheers for your help so far.
  11. Cheers, if you do get a cubby and need any help give me a shout Will do cheers, one last thing actually, with regards to the screen itself, if i google sat nav the usual plug and play sat navs come up. is the screen you have designed to be built in or is it a just a standard one that came with a mount. cos i'm assuming for updates you need it to be removable.
  12. ok cheers for that, i'm not to offended by the bose system (even though its my third one under warranty) i just dislike the cubby and i'm sick of sticking sat nav to the window. i'll give it more though and see what i can come up with. Nice centre console by the way, looks nice with the carbon.
  13. ahhh right ok, thought the cubby's were actually more than that. so i could do this for a pretty decent cost then. Dont suppose you know where i can get the cubby from do you. i've got an 07 facelift, with the standard lift up.
  14. i'd need a sat nav cubby but that would make sense. Is it easy enough to mount a universal screen in the existing cubby? or do you have to be pretty creative.
  15. i'd be pretty interested in this as well. I know the sat nav cubbies are like rocking horse waste products and to be honest i think the sat nav would be a nice addition to the centre console before i get it all re trimmed. If anyone is thinking about opening a factory and producing after market sat nav systems for the 07+ i'll stick a 2nd order in.
  16. i can understand your point actually. i may just bite the bullet and go for it then. cheers for the advice.
  17. 33 views but no volunteers, its the pasty isn't it? i knew i should have gone straight in with cold hard cash.
  18. In a couple of weeks my shiny new Bose headunit will arrive from nissan, should i mention this is my third headunit under warranty. Finally decided that when it rocks up its going to get hacked so i can plug in my iphone, so i have the guide, i have the cable however what i'm missing is the balls. Dont get me wrong i'm not lacking common sense and i'm kind of technical however when it comes to working on my car i'm more of a "sit back and watch a pro do it" kind of guy, question is, is there any one local to leeds thats bored and would like to help out a fellow 350 fan. There maybe a WHS voucher and a greggs pasty in it for you (payment could be up for nagotiation) Cheers, Hayd.
  19. Head for any other double din and you'll be quids in. I'm on my third Bose head unit only to climb into it this morning to see the words "push eject" followed by a an all to familiar crunching sound. Warranty will cover it but you can't pollish a turd, not more than three times anyway. Pretty sure every Bose upgrader will tell you that though.
  20. have you had any issues with faulty cradles in the past (not your stock but generally) the only way i can get mine to connect is by pushing the adaptor into the connector, that way the amber light flashes and i get the tone through my speakers but as soon as i release the pressure it cuts off again. tested my adaptor in my uncles motor and it worked straight away. thinking its my cradle. what do you sell the cradles for?
  21. Checked out sky insurance as many of you guys on here recommended. Nice to know there are insurers out there that appreciate the fact that you appreciate your car. i'm 28 and running a late 08 350 GT, so naturally assumed with the rise in un insured drivers i was in for an emotional afternoon. Thankfully Luke at sky understood that handbrake turns, drum and bass and burnouts where not one of my favourite pass times and gave me a quote that secured my faith in the world for another year. Cheers to Sky and i suggest you all check them out before renewing your policies. and no, you dont get a free parker pen just for enquiring. they'll just save you a few hundred quid.
  22. i run on 20mm front and 25 rears and it makes such a huge difference to the look of the 350, even makes it look lower in my opinion which can only be a plus point in my book. i wanted fat and low when i bought mine and was very tempted to go for 30's on the rear and 25's on the front but settled on the above setup and i'm glad i did. Actually bought some springs at the same time to drop it but they've been gathering dust in my loft as i can't decide whether or not to fit those as it looks loads better as it is. nope, many people have done that same setup.
  23. cheers tarmac, back from my holiday to find a nice large berk box sat on my desk. thanks for that.
  24. i'm actually really mad ok maybe i'm not i just figured i'd try get a ruler or a bottle opener or something else out of you as well. cheers for the update, i'm away next week anyway so it'll be something nice to come back to. good times.
  25. nice, cheers for the update. looking forward to hearing these for the first time. apparently they're special.
