  1. Friend of mine is working in India at the moment... "Common as muck" ..... Cheers Al!
  2. Im in the same boat... and I agree...
  3. ohhh... expect to get some flaming for that... I have never been in one... but I am presuming you are right.
  4. Well your not starting with me. yeah..... that is garbage... In the 'olden days', for a short period of time, you could... with a longbow, on certain days, kill Welshmen... In the Square in Chester. But it was a LONG time ago ... and a little law called the Homicide Act of 1957 now over rides it...
  5. Well, it is interesting. Problem is, sounds stupid, but I didn't want to push her with the 95 in anyway... Just FELT wrong.... Super happy now
  6. Ouch... harsh... but a truth we will all have to face up to soon.
  7. Not quite Zuagra.... The way it works is, if you want to become a member... you have to go through a lengthy joining process... with lots of different parts. One of which is the "black ball" method. (Which isn't always used any more, other similar methods are also used to do this. Including using computers) Basically, there is a room with a bag and a load of white balls and a load of black balls. Each current member who wants to vote goes into the room, one at a time, and puts a ball in the bag. If you are happy to have the new member, you put a white ball in the bag. If you, you put a black ball in. If you get "black balled" then your membership is rejected... At least, that is what I heard...
  8. WOO HOO!!!!! I have run out of fuel!!! viewtopic.php?f=9&t=60582
  9. Ran out of fuel yesterday!!! By which I mean I finished off using ALL the awful bloody 95 ron crap I had to fill up with a few weeks ago because every ar*ehole and his dog had to "top up" with £2.46's worth of fuel, due to possible talks about pay with truck drivers, that may at some point the following MONTH lead to a possible strike. And as there was no 95 ron left, the gits used up all the 99/100 as well. So I have been driving round like a granny for two weeks, keeping it under 4k (and STILL getting shite economy, which I KNOW is down to the fuel) (Click here to see this thread for details: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=60088 ) Everyone on here who argues that there is no difference between the 95 and 100 ron fuel must be deaf, numb and blind. I could feel the difference in the car the MOMENT I filled up. Less "shakey" at tick over, smoother and quicker up the revs.... all in all 50% better with the 99 Momentum. And when I thought it was in my head, Tam noticed when she got in! So even passengers can tell the difference... Oh... and my first foot down to just under 6k felt SO SO good... good job the seats are leather and wipe clean Anyone who uses 95 ron and says "It is better for economy" ... or "You can't tell the difference" and "It does no harm to the engine" .. needs their keys taking off them, and beating with a fish.
  10. he he ... yeah and you end up looking like your Avatar....
  11. yeah... keeping it under 4k ... LOADS of fun.... Plus... Seen the freakin' weather at mine this morning?!?!! Leave it running non-stop for the next few days, that'll thaw it out I can have plenty of fun in the Zed under 4kRPM too, you dont have to drive it like you stole it to have fun in it he he .... no need to thaw her out. She is all tucked up in the garage out of the weather. But I take your point on the 'No need to rag it' comment.
  12. yeah... keeping it under 4k ... LOADS of fun.... Plus... Seen the freakin' weather at mine this morning?!?!!
  13. Was out bike riding at the weekend, did 11 miles round a local lake... HOT weather, shorts and t-shirts, wonderful. I was even thinking of taking the Zed out of hibernation..... Woke up to THIS!!! WTF!!!
  14. Cheers DBlock... Yes, I drove to three stations. 2 shells and Tesco. ALL empty of ALL fuel. 95, 99 AND diesel! Eventually ended up at a Shell, running on fumes, who had nothing but 95. So I HAD to fill it up. Looking back, I should probably only have put a 1/4 of a tank in... but I THOUGHT I had a huge drive ahead of me... then immediatly after, my boss called to say the meeting was off.
  15. Jesus.... that looks like paint stripper! OK peeps... looks like I will have to drive like a granny for 400 miles I really appreciate all your help and input.... and glad we all calm down and get along... eventually
  16. Yup.. .tried google... nadda ... nothing... Starting to think there is a different name for it or something?
  17. Getting back to my problem guys.... Please? Anyone know where I can get hold of Toluene (Ron 111) ????
  18. Getting back to my problem guys.... Please? Anyone know where I can get hold of Toluene (Ron 111) ????
  19. I was thinking that... but peeps are saying not to bother... If the Octane booster will WORK... I'd prefer to spend the cash and get it in the tank. Gonna be £44 mind! As it is a £22 bottle for each 50L ... but I'd prefer to pay the money IF they work; and have peace of mind, as Mcgoo suggested.
  20. Good point.... Will do bud... My problem is... I hardly use her at all at the moment. so it will take a LONG time to get her to even half full. Might think about doing the syphoning thing.... just have to find someone who wants the awful low octane stuff.
  21. Didn't know any of this when I filled it up.... So she has been WELL over 4k for about 60 miles. Presuming this will have no lasting effects? I did think about syphoning it all out but think it's not worth the hassle. Plus, everyone I know now run diesels... Chris, where is the point in running it down to half way, keeping it below 4k, then topping it back up with V-P and then running it down to 0 still keeping it under 4k? Am I not just better off keeping it under 4k for the whole of the 95 tank then fill a FULL tank with V-P?
  22. Cheers El 'Capitan. Just mega p1ssed about it. Tank is FULL of 95 (pretty sure "normal" Shell is 95, right?) so I will have to do 400 odd miles before I can put proper fuel in. Or am I better off doing 100 miles and then topping up with V-Power?
