  1. HA HA HA .... We are properly JUST off the M54, 2 miles, if that. Would be ACE if everyone turned up and filled the street with Zed's. I'm not booked in for the run this year but I highly recommend it. Had a great day when I went a couple of years ago.
  2. Weird... I was sure my location was show in my profile... can't find it though! I am in Telford
  3. Cheers Daz... I can spend some of the money I save on a set of V-Belts... mine are looking tired.
  4. Wonderful... Thanks for all the help and info gents. All sounds like it is do-able then. Do I "need" to replace the fly too? Just seen the price of it! I will admit that the revs tend to stay high when changing gear. But selling her is still possibly on the cards, so I presume that the fly is an optional extra, as it doesn't "need" to be done?
  5. ha ha ha ... well, it would be your kit I would be getting. Was also thinking of doing the fly... but also the release bearing at the same time, if that isn't too big a job?
  6. I have four decent axle stands and two decent trolley jacks. So I should be able to take it up pretty high and have room to move. Also have a friend who I think would be able to help. A clutch alignment tool....? That sounds scary!
  7. Zed is sat in the garage at the mo, SORN, hiding from the weather. I'm pretty sure the clutch is on the way out and I'm thinking of doing it myself. Not saying I am great at this kind of DIY stuff but I consider myself OK. Would change discs/pads, even done a FWD drive shaft before now. As she is in the garage and not being used, im cool to take my time (once the weather warms up!) rolling her in and out of the garage as and when I need to. Don't need her to drive anytime soon. So, is it a massive job? Something I can do myself? Do I need custom/weird/expensive tools? Should I just cough up and pay someone else to do it? Cheers peeps!
  8. Lorry had right of way. End of. You are supposed to match your speed on the slip road to the motorway and find a valid space. Can argue as much as you want that the truck driver was too close to the motor in front, or that he could have been courteous and slowed down. Or that he could/couldn't see the Civic. But at the end of the day, it is HIS right of way. Civic driver was in the wrong. Period.
  9. Replaced my passenger side motor before Crimbo. Very easy to do. I think I might have put some photo's on my thread. Got the bits from ZManAlex on here. Top bloke. Become his best friend
  10. I know, I know. got a quote from my local boys who I KNOW will do a spot on, perfect job. £2k. But I have LOADS of other stuff to spend hte cash on. Mainly the van
  11. HA... what she ACTUALLY needs... is 2K spending on paint. The paint job is just appauling. She is SORN at the moment, no point in having her taxed and MOT'd if she never leaves the garage. Might get her on the road when the weather gets nice. But I DO want the paintwork sorting when I can. Know any 'cheap' places that do a decent job?
  12. New "news" is ... she is NOT for Sale...! Not been able to sell her, so keeping her for a bit and getting her back up to scratch. New battery...... top of the range 5 year guarentee from EuroCarParts. Underside was looking a bit rough... so had my paint guys rub all the underside down to remove the surface rust that was getting to a point where it might become more than just surface rust... then treat it all with Waxoyl. Should keep her going for 5-10 more years! Next on the cards is a 'new' OEM exhust and some new tyres.
  13. Good knowledge to have. Cheers brother... Well, im taking her off the road at the end of the month, then putting her back on when the weather gets back up again. So no rush. Think I am going to bide my time and see if I can find someone selling a decent OEM one as they are swapping to a new setup.
  14. That is EXACTLY right... You guys KNOW I hav a stealth/standard setup. Never needed an Xorst before.
  15. Hel Olli, where are you? Collection might be easiest. Will have to do some research on the different Engines/Xorts ...
  16. My exhaust is leaking Want to replace the lot with OEM or something that will last longer than OEM but retain the same sound/levels. Suggestions peeps? Thanks.
  17. Where are you Smudge? Can't see you location, browsing using the iPhone app. I'm after the whole OEM exhaust setup. Do you have anything else?
  18. To be honest, I think she might be SORN till May. If not, I will pop over to say Hello in the morning and let you guys enjoy your drive. Even if it is just to pop over and test out my shades on Wasso's motor. Will have to get him to clean mine again befire then
  19. he he he ... when is it? Probably going to sorn her for a few months, let me save up for the tax Have a few bits to do on her to keep her in tip tiop condition.
  20. Ha ha ha ... Well, looks like we are going to keep her anyway now. Unless you can pursuade me to part-ex with you...
  21. Where is he.... does he want to come for a look?
  22. Just put a new battery on her. To be honest, after all this time with her for sale. I had kind of come round to the idea of keeping her!
  23. Thanks Ad.... It's on the cards, as I have not even had any tyre kickers yet!
  24. Just fallen out of love with it I suppose. When I get time (working away from home at the mo) I will try to track down a clutch change... But doing the clutch replace and tyres might be a good idea. £100 each for tyres... £200. How much is a new clutch... fitted? Although I don't think it needs one.
