Zmanalex sells slicks which are better than 888s and last longer too. Slicks are surely not road legal which is the advantage of tyres like the r888 isn't it? (Near slicks but still road legal) You might be able to squeeze wider tyres on the standard rims surely, but it then changes the tyre's shape slightly. Which can affect its grip/wear characteristics.

Normal wheels are 20-25kg so lets say a spacesaver is about 16kg... Car plus driver is at about 1600kg... So the spacesaver is only 1% of the cars weight! There's 750kg sitting on the back wheels and the spare is only 2% of that. Fuel level makes a bigger difference... The petrol in a full tank weighs over 50kg Cheers thats the sort of answer i was after!!

An interesting idea would be to polish the inside of the plenum. Would there be flow benefits?? (Lower pressure drops etc) I know some people deliberatley leave inlets unpoilshed to promote turbulence for fuel mixing. Opinions?

Yes it is true I have seen brake flue strip chassis paint, garage floor paint and put holes in my jeans. Evil stuff!

How much does the spare weigh?? And what is its location? (ideally as a distance from an axle to make the maths easy) I would like to work out it's effect on weight distribution.
