  1. Firstly, Lexx a ‘captain’ @gangzoom as the dad of a nurse (so is her husband), I’d like to say a massive thanks for going into work and facing what you have to face on a daily basis Dan, I was a prison officer once, well more than once, CatA, cons will accept most things and mostly are indestructible, until the drugs from the visits dry up I drive trains and today I was in 6 different cabs, after 6 different drivers, with six different families, I’m running out of all ppe, wipes, hand sanitiser, gloves etc but folk need to get to work for much more important work and at more risk than me, so has to be done. I’ve been a soldier and in the past been in Lashkar Gah, Camp Dimond (among many other places) and there was this one time (), we were told that 40,000 Taliban were amassing, ready to bring Armageddon down on us, there were a few gulps, but I thought, “I’ve got 240 rounds of 5.56 for my long barrel, 60 rounds of 9mm for my Glock, that should see me through the first 5 minutes, before I bayonet myself” This Covid is much, much more scarier and I’m afraid for us all, even Boris (who, I wouldn’t sh1t on if he was on fire), you cannot spot or identify this enemy, most of my enemy are ‘friendlies’ but well meaning, but the best friendlies are the ones that stay invisible, stay at home, don’t put our emergency services and I include all shop workers, support workers, transport workers, anyone involved in the logistics of fighting this bastart of a virus, at risk. I’m on a 7 day shift cycle at the mo, just hope I don’t bring anything, other than myself home. Keep it real folks, and if you don’t have to, don’t go out
  2. Erm, last two posts not really upbeat So tomorrow, watching my two grandchildren while their nurse parents struggle on, we’re going to get the eldest (7) to start a diary, historic times and all that, but with the caveat, she needs to start each entry with what happens in her house the night before She’s written a letter to her hero, David Walliams, including her manuscript for a new book by him and all she wants in return is to meet him and get a hug . Think she’s read about seven of his books now, wanting to read them all. This ^ together with his top trump game gets us all through the day, oh I might wash my car, I’ll post pics
  3. Couldn’t agree more. Employers should be offering staggered start times to help
  4. Rest day today and tomorrow and that ^^ about sums up my plans for the next two days . Take the dogs out in a bit, into the now Covid Zombie Land. Then, as last night, I’ll relax in my ‘cigarage lounge’, have a beer and a stogie
  5. Yes, that’ll be the next update, non key workers to stay at home, probably without a clear direction on who is or isn’t key workers
  6. The direction is and I’ve watched his address a few times now is: Stay the f#ck in, in your own time Work from home if you can Only go out when you absolutely need provisions/medicine or medical aid with a minimum of outside exercise. He has NOT told people not to go to work, other than those showing symptoms or have family that are showing symptoms. There is is no ambiguity in that.
  7. Two thirds is probably an understatement, we know for sure that 17 odd million have voted to disadvantage themselves and others. We should be thankful we are still in a ‘transition’ period and Mad Priti Patel’s new immigration laws are not implemented yet. God would need to help us in this scenario if this happened without the army of other nationals labour in the health/care sector. After this is all over, a massive re-think as to how we operate as a society needs a complete overhaul from the most disadvantaged up. Unicorn projects like HS2 should be immediately binned and the money spent on a massive investment to new hospitals, real, not imagined, numbers of nurses, doctors and new hospitals. The drive needs to be to quadruple the critical care beds available, and trained personnel to operate them. When they’re not needed in critical care, the extra personnel should be used to create 20mins waiting time in A&E not as it is at present. The initial amount announced by the chancellor to fight this emergency pales into insignificance compared to what we threw at the banks in 2008 and, as far as I know, none of those gambling bastaards died. I certainly agree with the majority of comments above btw
  8. Myself and three other McMustangers went out today for what was supposed to be a ‘shakedown’ after our winter of modding sprees, pre Spa. The sun was glorious, the Scottish Borders were an awesome sight, roads were mostly empty, we were socially distant, had walkie talkies and had a great laugh. 140 odd miles of absolute bliss. Cars all behaved themselves impeccably, as did we Very uplifting
  9. I’d like to shoot, right in the face, those wankerrs that were filmed in Benidorm the other day, taunting the Spanish police. I’d have zero remorse
  10. Tell them you’re decontaminating
  11. That link didn’t work for me Hugh: screenshot:
  12. I was at Pets at Home this morning @ 10 and it was pretty well stocked up with pet food, which some morons have been panic buying. Went over the road to Asda and there seemed to be a lot less panic buyers, most trolleys were not full to bursting and this particular Asda is 24hr but closes at 2200 now, was pretty well stocked. We’re probably a bit luckier up here in hoop Hoo land as we are not as densely populated as some areas of England are. So far, it’s not been that bad. I work shifts on the railways and my wife is retired, but we have two grandchildren that we’re watching full time, their parents are nurses, so it’s tough on us all. I’m knackered from finishing late (tonight I finish at 0140) and getting up early to shop for four households. One daughter working from home (with her two year old not now in nursery) and her partner now under 30days notice (hospitality), youngest is a cop, on shifts and her partner runs his own business (arborist) and the other two are nurses as said. its been particularly difficult for them to work round their shifts to get essentials so I try my best to help out. I make a point of NOT over-shopping in any one shop and my priority is stuff for the toddlers (two grandsons 2 yrs old). So far it’s not been too bad but I’m pooped. I also go out my way to tell the staff in the shops how much I appreciate what they’re going through and that they are as important as any of the emergency services, we should all do the same.
  13. You’re all probably aware of this and given the current situation re Coronavirus, the new date for Le Mans is as above. https://www.fiawec.com/en/news/the-24-hours-of-le-mans-postponed-to-19-20th-september-2020/6671 Four of us were planning to go to go to the 6hrs of Spa in April, ferries and tickets already bought and paid for, sadly that’ll not happen now. We have been given credit for the ferry to be used later and our tickets are still valid, for the new 6hr date TBA. I doubt if I’ll be going to that, it’ll be date permitting for leave. If we get back to normality by the time of the new Le Mans dates, it sits bang in the middle of my Autumn leave (no holiday booked at the mo), then we’ll be doing a Euro tour with Le Mans in the middle weekend. Hopefully we’ll all have something to look forward to this summer/Autumn and May see some of you there Oh, if you any of you do go, don’t forget fine money....
  14. Top exhausts, have had them in my RX8 and my Mustang, no use to you but my FRPP by Borla Touring is up for sale
  15. No one is arguing anything else other than the gutter press is sensationalising. The insatiable appetite to consume stuff has always been there and will always be there.
  16. No, the point is that it’s a contagious virus. Not a genetic or self inflicted disease. the two people I’ve been watching and listening to, in the media, is the PM and FM, they are not sensationalising. Theirs is a very solemn set of pleas and advice. The tabloids and some other outlets are, without doubt, fuelling fear and disinformation.
  17. Agreed, but what I’ve said is fact
  18. Seasonal flu DOES NOT predict a worse case scenario of 80% of the population contracting ‘seasonal’ flu. This new virus does, no vaccine, vulnerable people, elderly, those with underlying health conditions are all in danger. Seasonal flu on the other hand WILL have some in those categories that are: a. Vaccinated or b. Have immunity. For those that believe that this is over dramatised, think again, no vaccine, no immunity, deaths could be in the 100’s of thousands if not millions. For some who do over compensate with higher levels of panic, can’t help it. The threat of death does that. THIS WILL BE LIFE CHANGING for untold millions, financially as well as in terms of health. The ‘blitz’ spirit won’t beat this, but taking the precautions being advised might.
  19. Glad I’ve been buying old cars then
  20. Is this peculiar to the 350? Both my 370’s used near to no oil in between services, my RX8 used nowhere near this amount and it was considered an oil guzzler Same with the Stang, it’s used virtually no oil, between services. I’d be concerned at the 1L/1000miles rate. I’d certainly be doing the card detection hack
  21. That feeds into what the original thread is about, dumb people Unfortunately, there are about 17.4million dumbasses in the country that we know of
  22. Yes, but even if it weren’t high flu season, delay would still be used if, like now cases are building. My point is, flu season or not, it’s part of the process.
