  1. Welcome to the forum . Any pics of The MR2 Turbo? Had one here for a while! Pete
  2. Just saw it on the news. Very sad, great guy by all accounts. Pete
  3. I've been with them since January 1996, in fact since the day the went live in The U.K. I was also one of their unpaid testers for a few weeks before that. There was a short period when they didn't provide my service as such, but I paid a nominal monthly fee to retain my EMail address so I was still regarded as a member. Never had any problems and have unlimited UL/DL for £5.99 a month (probably because my line's so slow). Before that I was with Compu$erve Pete
  4. Am I missing something here? According to the Thatcham site these new groups have been in operation since December 2009. http://www.thatcham.org/research/index.jsp?page=33 Pete
  5. When my broadband provider when bust a couple of years ago I decided the fastest way to get it back on was to go with BT. Everything went well until they told me the best speed they could supply was 1mb when I told them that I'd been getting 2.5mb for the previous 2 years thay were adamant that the fastest speed my line would support was 1mb . So I decided to go back to AOL, they checked my line and said, yeah 2.5mb no problem, makes you wonder what BT were playing at. Pete
  6. In the 60's, 70's machining of engines was nowhere near as good as today and the engines would have metal turnings and swarf which needed to be taken off gradually. That's why the first service always came after 900-1,000 miles, just to get rid of all the bits of metal that finished up in the sump. Pete

    350z seats

Hmm, what I have noticed is that my 2005 coupe has only one switch on the passenger side while Caroline's 2008 roadster has two (both are GT's). Pete
  8. Yeah, that's a bit of a stunner . Once again though it's going to finish up with an offset numberplate at the front so not for me Pete
  9. They're very nice Pete
  10. Having read through this story on various news outlets it would seem to me that the biggest difference will be to the under 25's, one comment I read was that it's a victory for boy racers. I don't think it'll have much effect on older drivers like myself and Caroline and we pay pretty much the same now anyway. Some figures I saw on The BBC, The average claim for an 18yo male is £4400 and for an 18yo female, £2700 which would support the point that others have made. Pete

Front wheels sorted with 3mm shim!! Rears will need more consideration as a calculator showed an effective offset of 24. Pete

    speed limit

I remember it well, you pretty well had to stick to it as well as garages were limiting you to 2 gallons and there were huge queues. The U.S had a blanket speed limit of 55mph for many years, in fact from 1973-1995 Pete
  16. Well, we're over the worst of it, the days are getting longer, the temperature is slowly rising and the meets season is just around the corner. Winter is finally on its way out Pete

As you may know I've just bought a set of 20" inch wheels and have had to remove the 20mm spacers as the wheel nuts protruded and because the insert cut into the back of the wheels is in the wrong place I've had to remove them. First of all, the front and rear wheels have an offset of 35 so they look a bit lost under there. So I've looked at several options and one of them would be to remove 5mms from the wheel studs so the wheels would sit square on the spacers, I've found a garage who would do this for me but.....unfortunately, I've damaged 2 or 3 of the short tapered nuts that hold the spacers on and have unable to source any replacement for them. The other option I've looked at would be to buy a set of 4x25mm spacers which would sit square on without having to cut the wheel studs. The only thing is I'm not sure how far the wheels would stick out with a total offset of 10? From a safety point of view this is the way I'd prefer to do it so I was wondering what thoughts anyone has and does anyone else run on an offset of 10 or have any photos? The other alternative would be to go down the route Ebized took viewtopic.php?f=103&t=34297&hilit=spacers Thanks, Pete
