  1. That's the best one yet Pete
  2. Impressed by Italy yesterday, they're getting very close to France and the Home Nations now, no pushover these days for sure. Pete
  3. O.K, Thanks Pete
  4. +1, never liked her music, just not my scene and her talent had faded due to her substance abuse. She was apparently "broke", about to have her $5 million house repossessed but like many fading stars, Jackson, Elvis, Winehouse, etc death will give her career a huge boost. No doubt she'll be number 1 again by the end of the week. Pete
  5. He's let the club down badly I'm sorry to say. He has now apologised but the damage has already been done. As far as Evra is concerned, what he did at the end of the game was over the top but understandable, Gary Neville used to do the same thing, it's all part of the game. I would say a fine and a 2 match ban for Suarez from the FA and a warning for Evra would be a fair outcome. Pete
  6. Yeah, looking to get some Nismo side skirts to complete my mods, I'd also consider some replicas as long as they are guaranteed to be a good fit. Thanks, Pete
  7. Yeah, for £13,499 . It was for sale for ages at a garage in Chester for around the 10k mark later on in 2010, I saw it several times on the forecourt outside there. LukeaJones was interested in this one but said it was tatty inside and needed a fair bit spending on it to bring it up to standard. Pete
  8. Ermm, No. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ow ... M&CRE=Furl However, I certainly would get some form of cover if I was for example be unable to drive for any length of time, there are a few companies that'll do SORN insurance for you. Pete
  9. Welcome I was quoted £100, including removal and refitting. Pete
  10. Yeah, he was pretty upset about it, but it was impossible to prove that he was actually stopped. It was his only conviction in 50 years of driving, got an endorsement, this was before the points system came about, and a fine. The other other two drivers also got the same treatment. My mum was in quite a state of shock, so much in fact that all her hair fell out within a few weeks, but it did grow back again. Pete
  11. Welcome along Build quality of the cabin isn't that great really, but as you've said its a very comfortable car to drive, I don't think I've ever heard a single complaint about it and we have some very tall and large guys here! Pete
  12. Happened to me once. Sitting at a roundabout, car in front moved off, I looked to my to my right and road was clear, moved off and then I heard a bang. The car in front had stalled...the driver leapt out out and I feared the worst but he actually apologised to me for stalling . Other than a cracked indicator glass, no damage, his car was an old MG Magnette, built like a tank. My dad had something very similar. Car in front stamped on his brakes in the middle of nowhere, he'd spotted someone he knew apparently. My dad did an emergency stop and breathed a sigh of relief as he missed the car by stopping a couple of feet away. Sadly , the third car in line hit the back of my dads car and shunted it into the car in front . Quite a lot of damage and my dad was rather unfairly prosecuted for careless driving , as were the other 2 drivers. Pete
  13. Fitted with the legendary front fog Lights and invisible Headlamp washers too Pete
  14. That's horrible. Sadly, that's always a possibility if it's parked in the same place every day. From my limited experience with the sort of people that do this they generally like to spread the misery about so next time it could be somebody else who's targeted. We had an incident where I used to work where a dozen or so cars were keyed over a period of 6 months or so, never the same car twice and cars seemingly picked at random, like my mate's 5 year old Passat . Pete
  15. Only 300 of these were made, They were £48k new, so they're probably very rare now and they fetch as much as £20k these days. Pete
  16. We don't have the talent. Let's face it we only have 3 world class players, Rooney whose temper often gets the best of him, Gerrard, injury prone and not the player he was in 2006 and Lampard, well past his best, the rest are fairly ordinary TBH. It's always been this way for England, 2 or 3 class players the rest just making up the numbers and it doesn't really matter to me who the manager is, it won't make England into a team of world beaters. Redknapp who is 65 or so would be a fool to take this job on when he's doing so well at club level. Pete
  17. Well, I had mine from brand new and it always needed a couple of attempts before it opened properly, until I joined this forum after three and a half years of ownership I thought that way they were supposed to be (basically, it's a design fault). I would have thought that if the boot stays fully open and needs a good tug to pull it down then regassing the struts isn't really needed. Try the penny trick first. viewtopic.php?f=35&t=37034&hilit=penny+trick Or, you could remove the counter weight. Pete
  18. If you are getting a pre facelift model then a set of LED rear lights Pete
  19. One of mine snapped off last winter, I believe they get a bit brittle in cold weather. Have a word with R35LEE. he gave me a couple of spares Pete
  20. Welcome . There's a few of us from North Wales/Chester/Deeside area. Pete
  21. Have a word with Cookbot, he rigged up a very nice system and I'm pretty sure he had an 06 facelift Pete
  22. Although I've never owned one I've thought about it from time to time. Wouldn't mind one of my old plates KDM 2K or YLG 2W. These still show on the DVLA site despite neither of them being taxed for over 20 years, I guess the log books were never returned . I also had a look for my initials but as I don't have a middle name the old style reg numbers (pre 1963) are very limited and very expensive Pete
  23. Not made up my mind yet, but I don't think our routes would overlap anyway. Pete
  24. If the bonnet is no longer with the car the easiest way to tell an HR is by the twin intakes Darn it, beat me to it Pete
  25. Could be... http://www.planetf1.com/news/3213/74914 ... lastic-Car Pete
