  3. Its a pro job s.i.c quotes cost nothing.
  4. An additional problem and far worse if you are not aware of it, is that our usual windscreen addatives to our windscreen water bottle, will strip wax of your body protection that you lovingly waxed on a Sunday morning. When I asked at the last seminar with a well known car wax and polish producer about this, they are not able to give you an alternative adddition. I wonder if that is because they don't want to loose the sale of their wax and polish products through windscreen washer water, no that can't be true is it? Or is there some one there that can protect against the water freezing with a resistance to the stripping of wax. You would make a lot of money but it has to protect against the water freezing? Any one out there?

  9. Still with you, thoughts an all.
  10. We have covered this before, historically in the car industry since 1960's (my knowledge) you wore the engine in. It was accepted then that catastrophic engine failure could happpen, i.e. pistons flying through your crankcase at over 500mph was normal, and a little bit frightening!!! As it went through the 80's due to better quality and closer tolerances on engine fittings it was not deemed neccessary. However you have always had joints, brakes, rubberknuckles, body parts etc that its sensible to allow settling in. Also in a new car the car manufacturers give information on what to do with your car and how to run it in, for the first few weeks, you would be unwise to ignore this advice for I have no doubt they would say you were reckless, if only not to pay out in the repair costs if any thing went wrong. I think common sense is prevalent here and just be sensible after all on the highways your not allowed to drive over 70mph are you???

  18. This was my first car, most of you were a twinkle in your dads guiness bottle 1957 standard ten bought in 1969 for £30, built like a tank found that out one day when I had a misfortune to kiss the rear of a Triumh Herald, the standard was hardly marked, the herald was a write off. Unfortunately the photo is off a site as I didnt keep any in those days. The box brownie wasn't up to it.
  19. Someone earlier said he had an Audi that was perfectly balanced and fine tuned like a ballerina but decided to go for the Z because it was like a thug, says it all. Best way is to have a run in one.
