  1. This hasn't worked since we got the car 18months ago and we could never figure out why. But when I was cleaning the car yesterday I noticed that some of the copper tape? is hanging off the window. Anyone know how we can go about fixing this?? Thanks
  2. looks good mate. I'm thinking that darker than the car is the way to go though. I love dark grey wheels on pretty much any colour car. had them on my old clio. Defo wanna go down this road with the Z though.
  3. I've just spent the last half hour searching for a photo of a gunmetal Z with either gunmetal rays (darker than the car) or black rays as i'm trying to persuade the Mrs that it would look sweet. Anyone got any pics?? M
  4. I used black boot polish to cover the orange scratches, then gliptone leather shampoo/conditioner. The scratches need a bit more work, but the seats feel much softer and more supple, they are like different seats. Smell nice too! I meant to take some before and after pics but forgot
  5. Spent all weekend sorting little jobs on the zed that I've been putting off for a while now. Added some little nylon 'pennies' into the boot lid to make the boot pop properly Finally got around to sorting out the seats, the little metal studs on my jeans had scratched them and generally made a bit of a mess of the leather. Got rid of the horrible 'yellowing' on the headlights Took the wheels off and gave them a proper clean and put some wheel sealant on them. Then spent most of today detailing the car. Here are the results: Cheers.
  6. Kitt. The original trans am. But if push came to shove, I would happily have the mustang from the new series. I had the joy or driving a 6.2l camaro in August last year (bumblebee from transformers) and would without a doubt buy one if I could afford to run it. Such a great noise! The ultimate movie car for me though, is the white challenger from vanishing point. That car is just pure sex.
  7. Wouldn't you just love to live on his street! Sounds pretty sweet though, wonder what's in it.
  8. OMG - my neighbour totally did that to hide his SATNAV enabled HU in his Toyota Yaris. He printed out a picture of some old cr**py tape player, stuck it to a cardboard frame which sits over the top. I told him it maybe quicker to just 'eject / remove' the screen ! That is a very Karl Pilkington thing to do. Skating the fine line between complete idiot and genius
  9. I'm gonna give the penny trick a go first thanks mate May be in touch if that doesn't work satisfactorily! M
  10. Little bit over budget, but a 'curve-ball'. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3571558.htm or... (plenty of change from 10k) http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3620066.htm bit of class..... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3618107.htm Again, over budget, and not really a stop gap, but so friggin cool http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3278791.htm nice cars... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3539002.htm this wass my personal favourite, but out of budget. so understated and such a sleeper http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3528440.htm
  11. Just received an email back from SGS... "Thank you for your enquiry. New struts are available at a cost of £65.76 for the pair delivered (£24.75 per strut plus £5.30 carriage and VAT), are covered by a two year guarantee and are available on next day delivery. Some struts can be re-gassed depending on their condition so a visual inspection by us must be made in order to assess your struts, which is free of charge. If you try a re-gas and it fails within the warranty period we will discount the cost of the re-gas from new gas struts purchased from SGS Engineering. A re-gas is £33.96 delivered for the pair (£11.50 per strut plus £5.30 carriage and VAT) and struts are usually turned around within three working days. Payment can be made via credit/debit card and you will be contacted for payment once your struts have been tested."
  12. Thanks chaps, I've emailed them for some advice and a quote. Cheers.
  13. I did a search and couldnt find what i was after. I have to press the button twice on the bootlid to open it! Not a problem normally, but with hands full of luggage/shopping/golf bag it's becomming a pain. Is there anyway of adjusting the mechanism or something so that it opens with one click again? thanks.
  14. I think the ones without the controls under the screen on the dash were the ones without the remotes. I'm sure if thats not correct someone will correct me.
  15. I agree with everything you have said there mate. I cant stand how, not only Terry, but footballers in general, as 'rolemodels' for younger generations, get away with all that they do. Terry has shown his true colours in the past as a pretty low character, and now has topped it off by being charged with racial abuse. I dont think he should be captain of England. I think they should give it to someone else. Well, anyone other than Rio, as again, people seem to forget that he was suspended for a large amount of time due to performance enhancing drugs! Again, not a rolemodel in my eyes, which is what a captain should be to his players. As for Wenger being England manager, I think he is too smart and too switched on to take the job. It would be good for the up-and-comings if he did though. But i cant see it! All my own opinion of course
  16. Just been sat in the car in the cold for half an hour!! I've been through every menu and read every page in the manual and can't find any reference to turning the screen off. Completed stumped! I did notice that the sun/moon button on the remote makes some of the other buttons light up though! I'm tempted to rip the whole thing out but it's not my car, it's the mrs' and I think she likes it!
  17. I know right! Surely there must be a way to turn the screen off without unplugging the damn thing!
  18. Got sent this on Facebook. Think it's prob a photoshop but very weird!
  19. Its an 04 so the one with the remote. Ok i will try that when i am home. Thanks for your help! I also have an 04 and can report that neither of these methods worked for me! I only have a colour option in display settings and the sun/moon button doesn't do anything at all!
  20. Me too! told the mrs it doesnt turn off! I just shut the cubby lid!
  21. This might sound like a really stupid question, but I'm gonna ask it anyway! Does it take CDs???
  22. Where did you get them from if you dont mind me askin mate? We almost got stuck in Selby this morning due to the 4" of snow! Couldn't believe how little there was in Hudds when we got back! Are they easy to fit?
  23. awesome, cheers guys, I'll check it out when i get home from work tonight. I'm assuming that i'll have to remove the wheel to do this?
