  1. The Zed has developed a strange noise that seems to be coming from the front passenger side wheel. The noise is best described as the same noise you get when your exhaust's heat shield is loose if that makes sense. It only makes this noise when the car is on at least half lock when turning left. Anyone got any ideas what it might be? Its a very disconcerting noise to have coming from that area.
  2. Anyone notice the toyshop owner straightening up the 350z toy car on the shelf?? Makes you realise how lucky you are after watching the bits about the millions of people that have to live in pokey little rooms.
  3. a) Think Floyd (Pink Floyd tribute band, really good actually) Dark Side of the Moon
  4. Camaro SS was about £1200, Fancy Mustang £2500 and Challenger R/T £2500 for the duration I wanted! £2500 - no way, £1200 I'd think about.... however a standard mustang was under £600. It's a lot more cash, sure it's ACE however not sure if I can justify the difference. Fair do's. I'm only looking at a couple days so it's not bad, works out at about £110 per day.
  5. Hertz have the 'adrenaline cars' selection. This includes the V8 Mustang GT Premium, the V8 Challenger R/T and a V8 Camaro. This is in Orlando at least, as i'm looking at either the Camaro or the 'stang for a couple days while i'm there. Would have gone for the Challenger, but the mrs doesn't like it!
  6. Great review man, i'm in the same boat. Going to Florida in 6 weeks and want to rent a 'muscle' car for a couple days, and this has been the no.1 choice for me out of the three you mentioned. Looks like you have just cemented my decision. nice one Michael.
  7. Spotted you both yesterday (not together, about 5 mins apart) whilst I was walking along the city wall with the mrs. Thing the red one's plate was YG54 and the White one started A I think. Was it you???
  8. Agreed, i had a mk1 clio 16v (1.8) and in the corners the v6 was quicker but only just, even my B.I.L. said he felt "safer" in the 16v in the fast corners when driving
  9. My brother in law has one mate, blue with the silver pods. It's an odd car really, feels really quick, sounds great having the v6 right behind you, and feels really stable in the corners, but when it does let go (happened on a track day when i was watching) he really had no chance of catching it due to it's short wheel base. He gets alot, and i mean ALOT of attention in it. We stopped 4 or 5 times at various pubs on the day those photo's were taken for refreshments and something to eat and every time we came out, someone would ask him about the car. Not a car for the shy and reserved. They are quite rare now too, my B.I.L likes to keep track of how many are written off on the forums! His lives in the garage probably 8 months of the year in a little oxygen bubble! Performance wise, after being a passenger in both the v6 and the FRS that day, there didn't feel much in it to be honest. the FRS puts about 215bhp out i think, and the v6 is the standard 255 model.
  10. not following you there I'm afraid, only posted one!
  11. Drove up to elvington, then onto Supercars of Malton for a shufty at the 1/2million squid 911 they had in stock. 3.0l carrera rs in black and gold. very nice it was too. quick photo at elvington before my phone died!!! future father in law's RS, me in the Zed.
  12. Walked into the new greggs up the road from work yeasterday and they had no sausage rolls! what kind of a greggs doesnt have sausage rolls!!!
  13. and for this reason alone, our Z hasn't moved off the drive since monday's fiasco with the hill!
  14. On Wakefield road heading towards Leeds Road at about 8:20 this morning. Reg was ** FLV Was it you?
  15. I dont suppose this solves the speaker problems too does it, we can't listen to CD's at all in the car anymore, either the passenger footwell speaker cuts out, or the whole bloody lot does!
  16. We traded in a celica for the Z (albeit a 350z) but there is now way on this planet that you can compare them. The celica is gutless, sounds tinny and a bit limp wristed, looks ok if you like that kind of thing. The Z is essentially a muscle car, big engine up front, RWD. put that against a FWD car with a crappy engine that would struggle to accelerate its way out of a wet paper bag and it really is no-contest. If you read the comments on the story, he didn't even know it was a celica, thought it was an MR2, and for that alone he should be receiving a slap. I had a rev 3 t-bar MR2 and it is epically better looking than the celica, still not that quick in n/a guise but still!
  17. Me, personally, i would go for an evo X. not a fan of big saloon cars, find them all a bit bland to look at. whats a new evo X, 35k, that leaves you 15k for a belting holiday, games room oh yes.
  18. So far, i have accumulated the following: - Snowfoam lance/snowfoam/karcher washer (snowfoam doesnt really make the car look cleaner after you rinse it off IMO, it takes all the loose bits of grit/muck off the paint before you wash it) - 2 buckets/grit guard/meguiars microfibre wash mitt/meguiars shampoo plus - Clean your car massive waffle weave drying towel/meguiars last touch detailer - bilberrys wheel cleaner in spray bottle with chemical resistant head/EZ detail brush/soft bristled detailing brush (for by the wheel nuts) - Valet pro Citrus tar remover - meguiars APC with a foaming spray bottle/megs slide lock brush for the badges/gaps between panels/light clusters etc. - dodo juice lime prime - panel pot of dodo juice supernatural (which will prob do the whole car about 5 times over!) - megs foam applicators - megs soft microfibre applicators - loads of microfibre towels/cloths (the ones from asda in a roll of 6 - not bad at all) - dodo juice metal polish (not used this yet) - dodo juice red mist (not as easy to use as last touch) - dodo juice mellow yellow wheel cleaner (dont like this, smells nasty) - Rain-x - meguiars cleaner wax (i used this before i got supernatural) - some detailing swabs - various spray bottles with some of the above products in them - meguiars quik clay kit with the quik detailer (bloody great stuff, only doesn't last long) think that's about it! if you want to know about any of the products just ask, i dont claim to know alot about them, but i can tell you what my opinion is after using them. Michael.
  19. yeah i found that out with Rain X, thought it would be a good idea to transfer it to one of those cheapy spray bottles from B&Q but it leaks like hell now
  20. a friend of mine has recommended ValetPro Citrus Tar and Glue remover. Anyone had any experiences with this on a Zed??? If not, think i'll got for the tardis, only not a huge drum like that lol
  21. anywhere in particular you can get that from as clean your car, monza, or ultimate finish dont have it listed!
  22. I have been at the tar with a clay bar and it just hasnt shifted the larger lumps, only the tiny little ones. I spent a good 10 mins trying to get one bit off without any luck, dont really want to keep scrubbing as that will eventually screw with the paint! Has anyone got anything they use to shift it? did a search but the search doesn't allow 3 letter words! cheers Michael.
  23. The open ended hosepipe thing is something i have been doing since we got the zed and it is amazing how much more water stays on the car using a spray gun or nozzle to clear the suds off the car! I think i'm going to go for the Clean Your Car drying towel as you lot give it the thumbs up, and i have ordered from them on a few occasions and they really are tip top, even leaving stuff in a safe place for me if i'm not in! cheers all. Michael.
  24. I currently have a meguiars water magnet and another one that looks similar, but is actually better, but still not great. I use Last touch detailer, or red mist as drying aids but the towels still wont dry the whole car without me having to wring them out. So, what drying towels would you lot recommend?
  25. Apologies if this is in the wrong section. We have a 04 UK Z and the heated rear window doesn't seem to work. The journey to work last roughly 15-20 mins and by the time i got there the rear window hadn't cleared, i turned it on just after starting the car. I'm assuming this is not normal? How would i go about finding where the problem is located? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Michael.
