Looks like a great place Jim, looking at the front room you have all the equipment to take up busking until you find permanent employment
The 'potting shed' looks like it could easily be converted into a guest apartment, see you in the spring
I like that the garden comes right up to the rear windows, the bears will be able to watch the telly with you
Didn't notice till yesterday it was an Insignia SRI not that it made me love it anymore....
I didn't intend this thread to be a 'look at me I can get (insert figure) mpg' thread as there are plenty of those
My point is I drive whatever car I am in the same way pretty much, I have driven from London to Newcastle in 4 different cars each journey in roughly 4.5 hours with 1 or 2 short stops....
Mazda 6 2.3l - 33mpg
Seat Leon TDI FR - 52mpg
Insingia SRI - 34.5 mpg
Zed - 33 mpg
So on a nice long trip doing motorway speeds with the V6 purring it is not that uneconomical
Driving it like you stole it or around town in traffic is another matter altogether
Not looking to sell, but I can certainly take some pics if you like
As I say not sure what make or manufacturer they are, I bought a job lot of stuff a couple of years back, all interior, I think the sills were £50 the pair....
The thing with Anerica is only 20-30% are living the 'dream' and 10% are in prison.
I agree about Bowling for Columbine and spoke to Doogyrev about guns the other day, the thin with Canada is a gun is for protection i.e. bears what do most Americans needs protecting against, apart from themselves and their neighbours
+1.
I have to agree +1
If I post up a picture of myself laying naked in bed can someone please photoshop Cheryl Cole on top of me as I have often wondered what it would look like....
I had an Insingnia soot chucker as a hire car on a trip to Cornwall and got nearly 70mpg so the Petrol v Diesel argument is slightly moot....
I think the new 'eco' petrol engines (1.6, 1.8, 2.0 etc) are more economical around town etc these days but when you get up to motorway speeds (70-80mph) they struggle. The Insignia I have now has 6 gears and tells to to change up as soon as you go near the pedal.... The engine sounds awful, no turbo but it feels like the accelerator and the engine are in different time zones.... All that and only a couple of mpg more than my Zed
Its down to driving style, on the motorway i am not on and off the pedal constantly like some.... One pet hate is drivers that are constantly on the brakes as they are too close to the car in front
And no I don't drive like a grandad, not too much passes me
Yes but like a grave digger once I have filled a hole I leave it alone
just spat my tea out
Did that bring back memories of wiping coffee off the laptop
Just drove a hired Petrol Vauxhaul Insingnia from London to Newcastle in 4.5hrs so normal motorway speeds and it achieved.... 34.5mpg
I have done the same journey in my Zed and got 33mpg
A while back I had a Hyundai i30 petrol hire car and that did barely 35mpg as well....
Good job they have "change gear" lights to help achieve their fantastic performance figures...
Mine have the exact same clips as the OEM ones and fit perfectly
Few spiderwebs on them now but they are getting a bit long in the tooth to be fair....
