GTM FX35 HR 2WD 500HP STG1 SUPERCHARGER
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to 4RE Leather's topic in Forced Induction
Anders, It's a supercharger boost is relevant to engine speed, boost makes torque , full 10 psi isnt seen until 7200 rpm but it makes a nice car no big torque curve to un settle the rear tyres , easy to drive very responsive not like a turbo car. All temps are goods water temperature is around 90 deg's under load on the dyno , oil temps are good no hot turbo's to raise the oil temp. AFR's are spot on for a S/C, running down into the low 11's at high rpm for safety and motor longtivity. Remember this is a totally stock motor , so i think it is an awesome conversion the HR and also the VHR (370Z motor) are built for F/I. I have driven a 370Z fitted with a GTM stage 1 turbo kit running around 480bhp at the rear wheel with a stock motor around 400lb/ft torque and that car was awesome as well , Nissan have stepped back up to the door with building proper motors. -
Uprev is a remap , the people that developed the remap system are called Uprev. Re maximum speed I dont know anyone that has hit the speed limiter with a N/A 350Z. But we do raise the speed limiter when we remap. But I would say the car's will do approx 145/150mph with a long enough run way.

Final tuned figures for the GTM STG 1 Supercharger running 10psi boost. Car had fitted already Milltek exhaust system and De-cat pipes , we fitted GTM supercharger kit (tuner kit) a fuel return system and larger injectors. Remap the Uprev licensed Stock ECU to give the following figures 445 bhp @ the hubs @ 6900 rpm ( adding 45bhp estimated driveline loss this make 490bhp flywheel power) 365 lb/ft of torque at 4900rpm this was produced running 10PSI of boost. A N/A tuned HR engined 350Z will give around 290bhp hub and 255lb/ft torque, so we have a gain of 155bhp and 100lb/ft of torque with fitting the S/C and tuning the car. Car drives awesome very linear power , 1st & 2nd gear, you can spin the wheels very easily but once in 3rd gear it is just awesome pulls all the way to the redline. Attached is the dyno graph. -
Yes you need to read the code , I not seen a car with a knock sensor fault yet but there is always a 1st time thou. Mark

We have a S/H set , need a refurb £250-00 + postage. Mark

Sounds like a crank sensor issue to me as well , like it is loosing it sync between the crank/cam sensor, When the cams sensors are dis-connected the car will go into limp mode. Mark

Sam, ask on here if there is any local HR owners if they will lend you there ECU take it to RS they can load a map in the ECU to turn the NATS off ( using UPREV) and try the car with another ECU this will remove 1 possible problem. I have spoken to RS today about your car and it does seem strange that the exhaust cam is causing the problem thou , I am sure it is sortable but may take a little time to sort.

Peter, do you want me to post up the dyno numbers? it is FAST. Mark -
Under the lower plenum , not a nice job to get to. remove upper and lower plenum and manifold to get to the knock sensor. If the motor is out you can get to the sensor without stripping all the stuff of but you wont be able to torque the knock senor retaining bolt without removing all the above parts. Whats the problem with the car?

I disagree, a remap on a stock car will give bhp/torque gain through out the rev range as well as improved throttle response.

I doubt the -10 Garret's will make 100bhp more than the old 2530's Neil. -
Bobby, PM me your reg number please. Mark

I am back from my holiday, The engine has to be raised due to the Supercharger touching the roll bar , this will happen on both LHD and RHD cars, it is not due to the kit being for a LHD car. A DE/REV UP strut brace is totally different to a HR strut brace , the DE/REV UP strut brace will not fit on a HR engined car. -
Hi, I am away on holiday, I am back on the 13th December, if you email me mark@abbeymotorsport I will get a quote out to you ASAP

Peter I am in the US at the moment, I will see what is in stock @ my friends tuning shop. KevT I will speak to you when I am back re the 370 tuning. Mark -
Col, they do work and if they didnt we wouldn't advise to fit them. We sold a load over the few years we have been tuning the Zed's but they change the way the motor breaths so they do need a remap to make them work properly. We change the fueling map quite drastically after fitting a plenum spacers. Mark

I seem to have collected a huge amount of 350Z plastic trims parts/head linings ( 2 car sets minus door cards) and a set of early 350Z door cards. No seats thou I am afraid. Just to make a few things more clear , no dash parts , only early pre 06moth 2006 door trims, all plastic trims parts full boot kit rear strut brace covers, rear glove box trims x 2 , boot carpet , head lining, mint carpet, rear boot lid privacy cover (when you shut the boot closes off the rear part of the boot) Does anyone want any of these parts before I stick them on ebay as a job lot? Send me a email to mark@abbeymotorsport.co.uk with refrence to any trim items please. We can take payment vis paypal and ship the items out to you as well. The only part that wont be easily shippable will be the rear glove box plastic parts these will need to be picked up I am afraid. Mark

Colin, the tuned car did have HKS panel filters fitted. It would be good to run a stillen air in take kit with a HKS system/Stillen exhaust but it is a major job to swap around. The BHP you are quoting are Manual cars , the dyno plot was an Auto so I thought it was good to show people what these car gain with a little work , the dyno plot doesnt show the other gains we find with the Uprev remap , the throttle response and the gearbox shift quality are enhanced a lot from a stock car, we tweak the throttle maps and use the multi map function to allow 5 different throttle maps to be uploaded so you can chosse you own throttle repsonse. I am not trying to say the HKS is better than the Stillen or anything likr that, here just showing what gains we can get from these excellent car just by finishing the tunes properly like dotting the i@s and crossing the T's.

Chris that will be good to allow us to compare more stuff. Weddings , yep they empty your pockets pretty quickly. I got married just over a week ago so my pockets are very bare.....

Yes a few bhp down top end , but the HFC,s add a big gain torque through the rev range , and the mid range torque is more usable than a few bhp at the top end I feel. Mark
