  1. A resistor will cause the current to increase??? I = V/R Lmao too busy thinking about pvi. Yes youre correct. Forgetting the fact that the ohms rating will differ due to being different types of lamps. I see now the reason for the resistor. The filament will obviously have much larger resistance. If the two lamps were filament then then the 1w will have an even higher resistance which means a lower current Got carried away with that and mis-led myself Missed a major fact of the power @ *ohms
  2. Lots of wd40 and a breaker bar
  3. Been there done it... Good but still not KK. My bro tried to franchise it in uk and they said nope
  4. Detour/pitstop on way home then In Preston thu/fri... Didn't see them in tesco in there last week. Need to hunt em down
  5. If i need wikipedia to do my job its time to give up The led without a resistor fitted will not be the same resistance as a filament element bulb but will be if a the correct resistor is fitted to simulate a filament element bulb I know
  6. Dreamcake is more than a quid and worth every penny. I'm in Liverpool just now, anyone know of KK near by???
  7. Stop using wikipedia The cars are fitted with fuses for the sidelights are they not as a filament lamp can cause a dead short also when it goes. The led is the resistance as same as a filimant element is. When either cause a dead short the current will spike.
  8. The resistor value is calculated to be the same as if a ordinary 5w bulb was fitted. I do understand that . But coming from an electrical engineering view less current is always safer. It's current that kills, not voltage. I will bear that in mind later when i am wrestling with 11,000 volts, iv'e only been a sparky for 31 years! All that i am saying is the led's with a resistor fitted are the same resistance as a oem bulb and whos to say they aren't fused resistors? They are made to be compatible with the cars oem specifications. 31 you old ***** you should know exactly the route I'm coming from then I understand what your saying an you should understand what I'm saying. Ps never lick a megger...

  10. The resistors will only cause the current to go up which will be more unsafe. The lower wattage/current is much safer. I would be worried if someone was putting 10w bulbs inplace of the 5w but LEDs without resistor use much less current. A 5w will draw .42amps, the(assuming 1w) LEDs draw 0.08 amps. Lower current is much safer.
  11. Yes! This thread is only about sweet dough-based retardation! chocolate dreamcake mmmmmmmm
  12. I'm seriously thinking about scraping the cash together for this also. May buy it, steal the turbo kit and sell it as stock lol. My old mans been looking for a zed also
  13. id be suprised if there is two as mines barely works......
  14. More stable because it is probably a 90/10 mix once in the tyre unless you run a vac. which then may give you 100% nitrogen Would a vac even get out most of the air? Cant see a tyre deforming enough on the rim to suck out the air. You'd need to do a few cycles to try and flush out the air. Would be a right PITA - easier just to check the pressures Sure I've seen setups before where they have 2 valves so they can flush them through. my vac pump vacs down beyond 2 torr so it could sook the air out but the tyre will deform. Easier just to empty and fill with nitrogen leaving a couple of litres of uncompressed air in and mix it with the nitrogen. What your talking about it pro stuff lol. I actually have no idea of the setup you are talking about but having majority nitrogen will help but may be a pain in the rectum carrying a 20kg nitrogen cylidnder to the track to top up before leaving.
  15. videos never give a true reflection on sound. get out to a meet and listen in person before making any decisions.
  16. I have big bottles of OFN sitting in my garage for the tyres lol It does move, nowhere near as much as normal air though. Much much more stable.
  17. 3 ninja's was an epic oldie aswell..., the sequels were crap though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XC30EBrDkNY&feature=related
  18. i think you could have saved £55.90 if you had thought ahead here
  19. i had to get these for my c2 vts as it brought a warning up on the dash. Had leds without resistors on the zed for around 6 months with no issues. I would be careful with those led bulbs, its unclear from the picture or listing that they have a resistor built into them which. I have seen on some ebay adds the following where the LEDs dont have a built in resistor DUE TO THE REDUCED RESISTANCE IN LED BULBS CERTAIN CARS MAY REQUIRE A RESISTOR TO BE INSTALLED WHICH WILL THEN ALLOW THE BULBS TO SIMULATE THE SAME RESISTANCE AS YOUR STANDARD FILAMENT BULBS. A SMALL ADDITIONAL PRICE TO PAY TO ACHIEVE THE LOOK THAT THESE BULBS WILL PRODUCE! here you can see ones for the Zed with the resistor built in. http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501-le ... rch=c14858
  20. Doesnt most trackdays that arent open pitlane have a one lap warmup? usually a sighting lap. No great speed and not enough to get heat into tyres etc. My tyre pressures were set at 35psi before going on track and after 8 laps the were at 42psi on one side and 40 on the other. Best solution is to nitrogen fill. Cheap and an easy fix and helps on normal motorway journeys etc. mmm nitrogen thats a tad overkill IMO. Ill keep track on my pressures I just need a good baseline (cold setting to work on, Im guessing the sides will be all over the place so best bring my air compressor for the ride home!) nitrogen is only a quid a tyre from qwik-fit mate
  21. avoid japspeed as you will have a nightmare of a time fitting. If your spending that sort of cash go for the scorpion, cheap, cheerful, sounds good and has a lifetime warranty... When the systems state cat-back they're usually talking about y-pipe back as a full system will set you back around 700 including y-pipe.

  23. +1 a local cruise isnt a place for driving like that. It is exactly this which has killed off the scene in my part of the UK. Police were perfectly happy to let us sit around and admire each other cars. There were 4 large meets every week throughout the region. But the people doing donuts and generally acting the fool got it all stopped. Killed the scene dead in the space of 6 months. For what its worth, I don't class doing Donuts as "chilling". Yeah yeah, I was off topic. blah blah. Back on topic, If you intend on ragging the hell out of your clutch by doing such stunts, then get yourself a decent one otherwise you will be paying again in a few months time after you destroy the next one. Get a Exeddy clutch and Fidenza flywheel. It'll cost you, but its worth it.
