  2. Dont sit at traffic lights with your foot on the brakes when theyre hot also as you might leave pad material on the discs
  3. Oh aye, I like how bissett got your vote and I never... Dually Noted
  4. what i would suggest is trying to get a company sponsored course as then you get paid tax free and usually a guaranteed job at the end. The best option is a sponsorship but usually the sponsor agency dont sponsor people over a certain age. I would say try and go for a Domestic/commercial gas course with bolt on courses for electrical and air con. This is what I done, my official title is HVACR building service technician. This then allows you to work on all services within a building. You can then add on 2391 testing and inspection once you have your 17th edition in electrical requirements. I have a massive list of qualifications which have been hard to get and tiresome, alot of people say jack of all trades master of none but this isnt the case anymore. My course required alot of higher grades from school (stage after gcse in england I think) and there was alot of competition to get the job). I work on all equipment every single day and slowly becoming a master of all. This is very tiring on the mind and you will only learn stuff as you go along but it is a good thing to have as companys want multitrade engineers as it saves money.
  5. for an electrician your salary will be between 24k-30k a year usually but with overtime etc you should see upwards of 40k a year easily. I think most companies dont recognise the SJIB rate anymore and its getting done away with which isnt good for electricians but great for companies as they are saving money and the electricians rate can be set at whatever the company decides.
  6. sounds like a dodgy clutch tbh
  7. Go for engineering mate, the moneys great and a good job also. What I would advise it to apply to maintenance firms, lots do adult apprenticeships. With maintenance you will always have work and dont usually need to be site based which means you get a van etc to use. Installers are still good paid but alot of the guys I know are site based and dont get a van etc and get paid of at the end of the big contracts. Good luck with the move mate, it will be tough but it will be worth it in the long run. Ive studied for 7 years now, 4 years doing apprenticeship at college and went on to study my hnc to become a building service design technician/project manager. Hoping to go on and do my BEng Honours degree at uni but waiting to see what happens with the finances in my company. All the best, Never Look Back
  8. ill vote as much as i can dude All the best See ya in the finals
  9. 770 is good, theres guys on here who are 40 somethings and they are still over 1k
  10. i dont understand? im 20 something and very cheap and with one of the most reputable companys around
  11. Mines has been away getting worked on since August. Driving a van every day just now so even jumping into the swift sport, that feels quick as hell. The zeds gonna be scary to drive again especially coming back with over 100hp more
  12. Thats the same one I had. The progressive controller is excellent, you can set the start point, I had mine at about 1psi then the max flow at a higher psi, I had mine set at a much higher pressure than I was making as it was pumping plenty in for my little 1800. Are you planning to just run 1 jet or multiple? just as an example, my basic sc setup without intercooler made 173bhp, added the meth & a little tune with fuel trim & Ignition it made 209bhp, then with high flow exhaust, fmic & a further tune it made 238bhp & weighed in at 978kg that would be scary quick. How much torque was it making ? Did it feel as fast as the figures say it was ?
  13. lol that gt3 was a monster and the driver was crazy. I'm much faster on track now lol. The old 996 isnt a patch on the new 997 model at all. It was my bro's 996 c4s (4wd and heavy) that I matched even with in a straight line, On corners the Porsche engineering will come into its own tbh. He's now got a new m5 now, dont fancy my chances even with 100 of bottle running You really feel the weight of the zed and i reckon in my cooper s jcw bbr I would spank my standard 350 round a track.. The clio is probably one of the best handling hot hatches around. Would love a 182 for a toy and have considered it many times (and i still am). Lose the weight out the zed and drop 10k into it and its a very capable car, in standard form its not so much fun to be honest.
  14. sorry, bare in mind that this is a 172 which is mapped and fully stripped, caged and track prepped. When i asked around they said it was 200hp it was running. My car was very very heavy at this point and running 305.5 (and my 3rd track day (amateur ))
  15. depends who's driving it to be honest. Theres a vid on youtube with me hassling one through the bends but coming out the corners he pulled away quicker and it took me a good few metres to get the zed moving again.
  16. Yep scorpion is the way. I had an issue with mines after a year and half of ownership. Sent it back under lifetime warranty and a brand new system sent back to replace it. No real hassles at all. Happy with service
  17. Errr, not really. Brakes arent really important in drifting, we dont advise handbrake use for a learner and the car is fine as it is. A 350Z is a very capable driftcar straight out of the box Standalone TCS or ABS is seriously bad advice Im afraid, you dont want any TCS or ABS at all (ABS doesnt work going backwards ) ....... and in fact where can you buy standalone ABS? Best bet is to go to http://www.driftworks.com/forum and check out the DWYB days at Santa Pod - they are easily the best place to learn, big spaces, nothing to hit and people on hand to advise you. Street drifting is bad, but thats not to say it doesnt happen ........ but generally you want a fair idea of what you are doing before you even consider doing anything on "closed or private roads" Be aware that whilst Ekona is dead right, it wont kill the car (unless you hit something) it will wear tyres and clutches, it will put strain on the engine, it will make the car run hot and it will exacerbate any problems you already have. That said, its about as much fun as you can have in a car and if you are in the right environment there isnt really any risk Errr... Right here mate! http://www.apexspeedtech.com/services.html
  18. you cant without pulling plugs out in the engine bay. Beware as when you lock up you will not be forgiven. Its the vdc you want to turn off not the abs. When turning the vdc off it also turns off your abs.. Be careful Docwra can let you know how to turn it off, he drifts also
  19. +1 also get a standalone traction control/abs system also a more powerful engine will help, so tt or supercharge will make it a lot easier.
  20. Yuuuuccckkk that wings even horrible lol
  21. upload the video to photobucket or youtube and then just post the link up here
  22. You're some man! I love this mate.... super handy with that stuff, but thats because you have too much time on your hands Some of us end up working at weekends
  23. The guys driving is appalling and erratic. No matter how much fun this guys having I don't anybody else on track would have been happy and I reckon after that session he would have got a ball booting. I wouldn't fancy being on a trackday with him at all. He looks like he's a rich kid who belongs on a hot hatch day Any trackdays i've attended would in no way, shape or form tolerate this behaviour. Thats the thing with these R35 GTR's because they're so fast, and have so many computers controlling everything, they make even shitty drivers look good. Fun for him, not fun for anyone else
