  1. mmmm good tip. I have been to lemans several times. On a bike and by cay. The police WERE allways very happy and laid back. Often encouraging you to nail it !! Probably smiling to see all the money turn up then the eeeedjuts leaving again. Its been a couple of years though. I will be finding out in July

    oops....

now thats better! I did the snow foam washy thing as normal... After cleaning my pads for the DA started all over again on the bonnet. Cleaned down with lime prime, then used the Megs swirly scratch off stuff. I worked this untill almost gone, this is where I differ from the last exercise. MUCH better ! I used top speed too - as advised - and now have a spanky smooth bonnet. There arte still some marks there so I guess a butcher compund will be the thing to get the last out. My mistakes: too slow a speed on compound. did not apply long enough : stopped before full effect had taken place. Used conflicting products on same mop - bad !!!!!! Applied wax at too higher speed. Slowed to 3 for this stage, much better ! Questions: Should I dampen the mop before I start ? I currently apply the gloop straight to the mop. I am getting some kind of fall out. It looks like the mop is breaking up - small yellow fragments - but no visible damage to the mop. Or is this usual ?
  3. all filtered up My first NISMO part
  4. right, bugger off. Ummm, got any shiny bits for sale ?
  5. Only paid £170 and 320 fitted at local garage WTF ?????
  6. mine dropped by adding the wife ! She drives it rarely as she does not want to bend my toy. She hasnt had an accident in a car since ..............ummmmmmmm.....ever ! I am doing a drive around europe ish in July and to add my mate is £20/week ! much cheapness.
  7. you know the answer already. Otherwise you would have said no straight out. Get on with it. Send us a postcard :-) Don't they have cars in Honkers?????
  8. I paid £565. This is for a convertible, so this is always more than a tin top. I have 2 yrs no claims, 3 pts - sp30-. Wifey is insured to drive too. Her car is a camper van so admiral will not do mulkti car policy on campers, wouldnt do it on my bike either..... I am 45 and live in somerset, dont know wether this is good for ins or not but gotta be better than knightsbridge or moss side All in all not bad.
  9. Well, the renewal is due so here we go again.. RAC wanted to renew with the policy going UP by£6 to £720. So much surfing aboot to sky and chris knott - both higher. Then to compare the ferret.com where it dropped to £590. Now we are talking,,,BUT money supermarket got me down to £599 with full legal /courtesy /full euro cover etc etc etc so on the phone to Admiral where it dropped another £40 Well appr Possibly not a point of discussion , more along the lines for info for others.
  10. you are right !!!!! One filter only. Just took mine out to find leaves in there !! I'll have the filter please. PM on the way
  11. Plasma rules. Ask any nerd. The reproduction of action cannot be matched by the others. LED/LCD is sharper, as long as theres not much happening, they start to stutter at this point. So if you are into big crashy explody type of movies, plasma is the choice. I recently bought a 50" Samsung 1080P 3D. Simply: I love it. I did have a Pioneer - who made the very best screens - for about 5 yrs and was 'only' 720P but was sensational. It was better than the Sammy at standard res but slam a blu ray on or any HD signal that gives you 720P/1080P and it is faultless. Obviously the higher res the better. It was £950 inc two sets of glasses and a 3d player. The player was surprisingly good too. 3D is a laugh. It makes images deeper more than leapy outy but that happens too. Not as good as cinema obviously but pretty damn good. Couple it to a decent home cinema system and you will never go to the pictures again... the savings on popcorn and coke alone will pay for the TV
  12. as for the filter, dont i need 2 of these on a standard 06 ?

    oops....

well it has all arrived and how spanky it is. Note: for all you Hozelock users, the 22mm fitting is the one to get. Snow foam is very snowy foamy ! Wifey had a heart attack ! She looked out the window to see the car completly white. She thought some little tyke had paint bombed it and came running out to see Any who.... on to the polisher. I bought the kestrel and a yellow pad and a black finishing pad. Spent ages trying to correct the paint for that mythical swirl free finish. Got part way and thought - arse that will do for now, time being a constraint. So then polished and then waxed. I used the Megs 123 system for this. Well, it looks cloudy and uneven Not happy. I have put this down to me being crap at this and it being attempt one. Not sure how to improve on this. I took it slow and a little poressure followed by light pressure, but the swirls stayed and the finish cloudy. Is there a grown up in the south west - Bridgwater area - who has had a more succesful experiance ? i can provide beer...... I will percy veer and report back
  15. Just me and a Nikon D7000. Lenses are Nikon 35mm 1.8, 10 -20mm Sigma, Tamron 18-70 2.8 and Nikon 55-200mm. Nikon SB400 speedlight. Lots to carry each day but worth it. Cool, nice work :-) I too have a ton of gear to lug about but when I take some shots theres no regrets for the sweat and aching shoulders Nothing worse than seeing something and the right lens is in the car....
  16. guys, if you have had a decent dslr then going to a point and squirt will drive you bonkers. Comparitivly, the reaction time is crap. The quality dubious - do not fall for anything quoting digital zoom !! The control a dslr gives you simply outguns any pointer I've seen. After quitting the pro snapper business I sold all my gear EOS1D etc and bought a point and shoot for about £400. Wifey pointed out I didnt take any photos any more after about 7/8 months. One visit to London Camera Exchange and chucking £1k on the table got me bqack in the creative / photo saddle again. Just my experience of course...... As for above photos: Good start ! Watch out for lines being veretical or horizontal. When they arnt it skews an image no matter how good the composition. Focusing. Look at what point your view finder is using to focus. You should be able to choose from one to many. Many points creates an average focal point of the image, leading to some / none in focus. Choose a point you want to focus on, it will sharpen your images immediately. For night shots, use a tripod or wedge the camera on something and set a large f stop : f16 ish for the shots of your house. This will create a long exposure - 30 secs ! - but will allow more to be in focus/ sharper. As for choice of image to start with, cant fault it Have fun ! Play with the knobs Show us more
  17. what kind of changes for the rev up engine ? 06 facelift. Does this remove the 150 mph limiter ? accelerate harder? Is the plenum spacer significant for the 06 ? fanks

  21. I dont get the pirate thing at all. Why spend a sizable lump of cash on a home cinema system then push a dodgy DVD at it ? Just stick to video.. I like quality, I pay for it above all else. I like a good movie too. Sure a Blu ray is expensive but I dont see Mr Sainsbury et al refusing my exit unless I buy one every time I visit. There rant done. Off for a little lie down with a copy of the Guardian.....
  22. just cancelled my card and took the precaution of identity theft protection from my bank. May be over reacting but it was a minimal cost just to be sure. Sony should give that hacker a job !! As for hacking the PS3 console: Why? To play pirate games ??? now why would Sony be against that????
