    He says only 200 were made - he's lost a 1 somewhere as there were 1200 produced between 1968 and 1970. It was never called a "Lotus Escort" but was the Escort TwinCam and used the same engine as the Lotus Cortina.

    Correct, I got it wrong. Doesn't exactly sparkle even in sunlight but at least the bumpers and body match Trust me, it might not photograph well but it does look great in the flesh. Better than GM IMHO. If it's got the full satnav (as in top photos) why has he got his map of France out?

    What happened to the tethers that are suppose to keep the wheels attached to the bulk of the car??? And why design it so that if 1 upright fails the other is instantly overloaded? Time for another change in the design rules to make the drivers safe
