  2. The comments here restore a little of my faith in the people of this country! I'm not a political person, in terms of parties, but the country, nay western world we live in, has become a joke. No longer is there right or wrong, Black and White - just a thousand shades of grey abused by the selfish dregs of society that prey on the liberal ideals of the free world. You know why? These generations of degenerates have never known real need, they have never understood that the well-fed, well funded lifestyle they lead is an incredible privilege not a right because... We haven't seen a real war. Bear with me here. You see war, horrific as it is, unites people in a common goal. Said scumbags are either drafted into service or forced into hard work producing something toward the good of the country. The idea of petty crime and dealing drugs pales in comparison to literal life or death of the free world. War wakes up the fundamental drive in people and ignites the brotherhood of humanity. Those of you with grandparents who fought in WW2 would no-doubt understand what I mean. War isn't the only solution - the leaders of the western world could realise that the insidious threat of inaction will ruin us but more likely that very apathy will doom society. Well if thats too melodramatic for you then here's a few quick ideas to sort the world out: 1. Prisoners are MADE to work. Hard labour improving roads and infrastructure: Lower road tax 2. Chavs, ASBO chasers and long term dole abusers are also MADE to work as mentioned. (Not as severe as prisoners but still hard work) 3. Immigrants without work are PAID to leave the country. (Japan already does this. It costs a couple of grand but costs the country less in the long term) 4. Families with no jobs, criminal records etc are PENALISED for having more children. (China already does something like this because of over population) Right rant over. I'm sure GCHQ are all ready all over this thread so I'm off to hide under the table from MI5...
  3. I spent quite a while looking at these and found the cheaper ones usually miss a few crucial details details. Like it may cost a fiver but won't tell you of outstanding finance. Have a butchers here: http://www.carcheckdirect.co.uk/vehicle ... pared.html It tells you the cost for each and what you get.
  4. I've been looking for a set of these - I'll PM you. Nice one
  5. Pretty nifty site there. I was trying to find out for ages if a shorter plate was legal because I have a 5 digit reg and didn't want a normal length one with a load of blank space either end ruining my aerodynamics! They are listed on there under the standard uk plates so I guess so. 'Spose I could just get the jigsaw on some normal length ones though! haha
  6. A mate of mine on his bike had the same thing; Rowdy van driver parks up at lights in front, gets out of his motor comes storming back to him..of course being on a bike he just rode past the guy, reached into the open window of his van, grabbed his keys and lobbed them into the nearest hedge!
  7. To quote the great Ron Burgundy: "Ohh, it's the deep burn. Oh, it's so deep. Oh, I can barely lift my right arm 'cause I did so many. I don't know if you heard me counting. I did over a thousand" The uvula connected to the upper dorsimus, its boring but its my life! I'm just gonna grab this shirt, if you don't mind. Just watch out for the guns. They'll get you If the Zed doesn't work theres only one solution: http://www.firebox.com/product/2291/Sex-Panther 60% of the time it works...everytime

  12. I've said before but it's a shame no-one on here plays GTA4 online. It is consistently hilarious and racing round the city in supercars trying to pwn some noobs never gets old. I also hold the highest rank on Battlefield 2142 if anyone fancies a knife fight in the frozen future...
  13. COD4 was one of very few games to really shock me. When you get hit by that nuke in the chopper and it all goes to hell - pretty horrific. (and all cus you stopped to rescue that woman!) Anyway it'll be badass to rejoin 'Soap' and crew in pwning some russians!
  14. Eh? So you agree with me then not Chesterfield? Politics man, its an confusing game!
  15. If you could find any other creditors offering rates matching RPI then I'd suggest you sign up immediately! However this isn't any other creditors. It's a state operated system ONLY available to students for the very reason there is no extra to pay on top of the original amount. This is purposely in place to encourage higher education and as such produce a more learned society. Anyway anyway... I'm not going to go-on anymore about it because it seems like a very divided subject. If people don't wish to sign up they don't have to but some might like to be aware of what's happening to their original loans. Thanks guys
  16. The problem is Student Loans are supposed to be linked to the Retail Price Index and as such this should not affect the cost of the loan but instead ensure Students pay back (in real terms) exactly what was borrowed. I.e No cost to students. AND this is EXACTLY what we signed a binding contract for. Now the RPI is negative, (albeit in unusual times) the gov refusing to match the RPI breaks a contract and effectively adds cost to the loan. Ok it's only about +0.4 % but it is no longer a no-cost loan in real terms. Again fundamentally changing something thousands had already signed up for.
  17. Naturally a 0% Interest loan is good but for 2 problems in the current climate; 1. The government have broken their own binding rule on a whim and as such leaves them to do the same again in future on any number of issues. 2. Inflation is negative and as such prices are down but people like myself are forced to pay more back on a loan than reflects this countrywide reduction. I understand what you are saying but it is mostly the principal that annoys me.
  18. Basically student loans have for years been guaranteed by the government to match only inflation and incur no interest. But wait! Inflation is now negative meaning student loans should be REDUCING. What do the Government do? Change their own rules after years, sneak a legislation through and screw the public once more. If any former students want to join me on the petition sign here: http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/Loansofstudents/ (I really thought I couldn't be anymore annoyed with this gov) Heres a summary: ------------- Govt fails to honour 2.5m student loan promises Interest rate drops but won’t follow deflation Last week, an announcement was snuck out meaning millions of graduates with outstanding student loans will soon pay no interest, though the change should've been bigger! * '98-onward loans dropped to 0%. The 2.5m with loans who started uni later will see their interest drop from 1.5% to 0% from Sept. * It's all about deflation. The student loan rate changes each year in Sept based on the RPI inflation rate in the prior March. This March's inflation was -0.4% (deflation) so the interest rate should drop to that for ALL loans, yet the government has used a technicality to prevent 98-onward loans matching deflation. * This breaks a binding principle. Student loans have always been set using inflation, so there's no "real cost" to them. While 0% loans sound cheap, it means former students' purchasing power is being eroded, as with deflation (prices dropping) loans costs should be shrinking too. This is the one thing that wasn't supposed to happen, while currently students with loans of £10,000 will only be £40 a year out of pocket, the worry is once any principle is broken it's very difficult to fix, and deflation's now -1.2%. There's been a petition at No. 10 started to ask the Prime Minister to rethink while there's still time. ----------
  19. I got 39. Would have got a couple more if I could spell properly! Some are tricky as living in the UK you may never see a Saturn or Holden logo
  20. Yeah that was one of my first thoughts but I think Top Gear raised the value on these everywhere! Even 10 years old with +100,000 miles plus they are going for a lot of cash considering.
  21. No not cheesy lines for the ladies. My Dad is in the market for a pickup type 4x4. He's been eyeing up Nissan Navaras, Mitsi L200s etc. Doesnt have to be pretty but does need to be reliable, 4 door version ideal and sub £4k Just wondered if anyone had any experience of these types and what's any good? They seem quite pricey to me
  22. Thought I'd show you guys how to do it properly: Behold the beer sculpture we made in my student house not 3 years ago... We were so proud of our post-party achievement that it remained for several months, then someone fell into it at another p1ss-up. Good times...
  23. I think it was his cousin and she never actually got in touch... My only consolation is the promise of this thread...
  24. Working in an office is basically slow death. I don't even work in a proper office and it's still painful. It's all a means to an end with me though. Get the money, get the car, do the travelling, invest the money, work for myself. Shame it takes so damn long though! I know what you mean about the bike though - I miss it.
