  1. It was A plan as the broker and service underwriting as the insurer One of the ads they showed me was yours
  2. Had an email this morning saying the first cheque was an initial payment and a further cheque would be issued if the valuation was raised. I was sceptical obviously but then within an hour I had another email They had look at the ads more realistically, given an average of thrones closest matching mine, deducted a 5% "haggling at point of sale" fee and I will be getting a second cheque for just under a grand
  3. Yep the cheque is going back to them I was just worried that I didn't have the power to fight it further But it's just a tactic they use to end matters quickly I presume
  4. That's what I thought, cheers I sent them an email on Wednesday saying they're proving my car is worth more than they've offered. No reply I sent another email this afternoon saying I'm still awaiting their response and iv made it clear iv not accepted their offer Il see what they say tomorrow
  5. As most of you know my skyline has been written off. I have been negotiating an amount with them. We have sent various adverts back and forward. They have given me a second valuation which is lower than market value, for which the car was insured They sent me 4 adverts saying my amount is too high Of these 4, only one was below the second settlement figure. The rest were way above. Plus these cars were standard, one was even a cat c. I replied to the email explaining that the figure was too low, as they had just proved not me But now I have had a letter saying the cheque for that amount is on it's way. I did not agree to that amount Where do I stand now? I have replied again by email and will call in the morning. But if I haven't agreed can they just send me a cheque and fob me off??
  6. Hot uk deals is worth keeping your eye on as well
  7. My impression of built not bought was you had the car standard and modified it yourself from scratch. Whether you paid mechanics/bodyshops or not. Rather than buying someone else's project Who knows
  8. Please please please do not put a built not bought sticker on a car with an exhaust and standard wheels painted gunmetal How about some japanese stickers?
  9. If the cars staying standard ish then keep it simple Rear quarter window stickers look good. If your going on the windscreen a smaller one in the centre can look good. Or a larger one on the side, on it's side
  10. With a full bodykit and the right colour scheme it could work. But on a standard car it looks naff
  11. Been married 4 and a half years. Still had the zed then. Fond memories of my wedding day
  12. lol you're just scared as you know a ban will be coming you way due to all your bad driving habits Well done mate. Although I do worry about all the newbs facing bans for not using the search button lol
  13. Neil is a mod?? What were you guys thinking??
  14. Cheers for that marzman. Really undecided just now
  15. I know Irfan - the fact the numberplate couldn't be put on centrally rules this car out automatically. not quite mate I love how the 159 looks
  16. Craig not bothered about travelling down south cos there's so much more variety there and better value for money. That one you posted is nice though, love that colour Looked at a few today including another e46 oora coupe like that one and a clk. Might sound daft but the doors don't have that German clunk when the doors close. I think the frameless doors cause it but they both sounded a bit rattly. Dunno why but it's putting me off Liam that's the same reason I didn't get the 159 for the mrs. Wasn't impressed with the build quality on it. It drove well though
  17. You've missed a lot mate lol. Waiting on a paycheck for the skyline. The back end wasn't playing ball Thanks for the suggestions. Never been a fan of rx8s. Hatchbacks don't do it for me. The lexus is almost identical to the one I bought for my wife. Older style audis look too dated especially inside. And bmws need to be in m sport guise Keep me coming
  18. Liam you know you can't start a thread like this without telling us what car your talking about
  19. Performance isn't high on the agenda. Neither are skodas
  20. After driving a mid 90s Nissan for 3 years I'm craving luxury and comfort. You know yourself that the r33 was pretty comfy for what it was but I need something more grown up before I start another project next year
  21. Back to the drawing board... Went to see an e46 last night and it left me disappointed. Had been in a few when they were new and obviously they felt great back then. This one just felt a bit rickety- didn't feel tight at all. Especially after driving the lexus for a week which feels solid I'm hoping it was just this specific car so il see another one today but I'm not expecting much. If it doesn't I can't think of what to go for CLK sports are nice but they're still 6k for a high miler. And I used to have the old CLK wanted something different I would love a 6 series but I'd be stretching to 8k for a reasonable 3.0. Don't even try talking me into a v8 Help me out guys what other cars are out there??
  22. There's not many cars I would say this about- but I think it looks better with smaller wheels and chunky tyres
