  1. Nice one Stew, some excellent entries too....
  2. Hey all, in light of the Envy Valeting competition here is an incentive to get shopping...15% off at www.envyvaleting.co.uk/products.asp Just enter the code "350Zforum" at checkout to get discounted (without the quotes of course ) I recommend the Dodo Juice Red Mist and/or the Red Mist tropical if you want a wipe on/off quick product for shows and protection. The Mequiars Quick Detailer is also excellent. Happy shopping, and 1 week only limited offer. Best wishes Tim
  3. Some nice entries so far, good commentary, wide selection of products used and all with good results. Nice to see Envy brushes being plugged too LOL
  4. Just been looking for accomadation myself Looking forward to this.......
  5. Not a common car thats for sure but I like it, mainly due to the engine..pics later:) Booked in for a full correction and Swissvax detail. Wheels cleaned with Envy brushes and Espuma Revolution, then foamed with Bubbly Jubbly. Allowed to dwell, then rinsed and washed again with DG901 shampoo, TBM and the Z sponge. Envy detail brush in the grills and fiddly bits Rinsed and dried The engine....mmm! Clayed with BH clay and water as a lube. No real shocks here. Why are we correcting this car? Before machine polishing its always prudent to check that its safe to do so. To start I tried Scholl Concepts S30 with a blue 3m pad on the rotary and this proved to be just enough to do the job, here is the roof after 1 trial pass in the foreground. Rear quarter corrected Looking good Day 2 back at it 50/50 on the bonnet Once all the correction was out the way I cleaned up the mess and chose a wax. This was applied and forgotten about whilst I set about ancilliary tasks like the interior which also had the full Swissvax treatment. Please enjoy the after pics Best wishes Tim
  6. What a combination to deal with today! Following on from earlier this year it was time to top up this Fast Boy and also its new namesake. Both cars were subject to the top up regime, mainly wash, wax tart up the interior. Water pressure was pants so tested the "Kranzle sucks from a dustbin" method and she performed like a dream:) Notice the craftily swapped plate, really suits either though! Wheels soaking with Espuma Revolution at 10:1 (Note not a full detail, no tailpipes etc..speedy job) Paint sealed with AS Platinum on this occasion, tyres dressed with Espuma RD50, glass Espuma green, interior hoovered and wiped down. Back to the Cayenne at last, same process as before BUT waxed with another coat of CR. For those that are interested the paint was still silky smooth and pretty well protected after all this time. I'm impressed with the wax...enjoy the pics. Look at the shine...and no CF either to get looking this good And now for the sloooooow! Funnily enough I had a would-be customer call today and asked if I did normal cars..funnily enough I said... Just a water, kranzle and Bubbly Jubbly effort really. Something more in the future? Who knows, in the hands of the owner! Enjoy. Bubbly Jubbly and leave to soak for...indefinately, and rinse! A dirt 50/50...touchless wash today...I'm not touching it and ruining a mitt! A test panel with Lime Prime Followed up by some AS Platinum by hand, seems to work well on this occasion...wonder if I'll get the job of doing the rest! Could have some fun with a half car 50/50 And if thats not enough excitement..something nice at the lights on the way home.....flapping the door to stay cool! Thanks for looking Tim
  7. I really cant say how long Immy! 2 days this week, I did a few days on it a week or so ago for the Ferrari Conours (it won last year so was not eligible for entry this year but was "on display". It was driven to and from this event so was pretty filthy tbh. Leather was bone dry as lives in a bubble and needed a good conditioning, still enjoyed it. Value...most expensive car I have ever worked on
  8. Envy Valeting have been preparing this for the 2009 Salon Prive, and yesterday the car was trailered up to London. Hopefully the owner will email me some "on stand" pics:) It was a real labour of love for me and the owner and I was very proud to do this. Of course I'll be even prouder if we win. These are the after pics, but rest assured it was a long process. Paint and chrome (this worked sooo well on the chrome) were Swissvax CF'd and I topped it off with a wax from a vintage era..kryptic eh. Please enjoy. A thing of great beauty I think you'll agree. All products used SWISSVAX apart from the wax:rolleyes: Best wishes Tim
  9. The Megs bottles are difficult to house as they are very tall. I have them in a plastic box along the lines of the "really useful" boxes you can get at Makro and the like.
  10. Praise where praise due Use a coin or screwdriver next time, I'd hate you to break a nail I keep a screwdriver in my wax box for the collinite, CG 50/50 and self defence !
  11. Certainly looks good for it. Not tried that one but no.16 is also very good and comes in an old skool tin
  12. Thanks very much all, I am lucky with the guy with the Lambo. I did his Alfa sport wagon earlier in the year (its in the background in after pics of the lambo) and as such he lets me look after other cars too. Paint in pretty good nick yes Immy. I did point out some blemishes but for a car of this age I was impressed.
  13. Another classic car detailed by Envy Valeting. Not a huge write up and not a lot to say really! Followed the traditional wash, clay and cleanse regime. Followed by a coat of Swissvax Scuderia. Swissvax products used throughout as this was a Swissvax detail. Engine cover treated with 303 Aerospace No outside pics as was keeping it nice for the owner to collect and the skies were very grey. A few of an XK too I did last week as it came up really well. Finished off with Chemical Guys Wet mirror finish. Thanks for looking Tim
  14. Hiya Nick, and welcome! About blood time too:) Was great to see you on my way to the Isle of Man and enjoyed talking so much I was cutting it pretty fine for the boat LOL. Hope to see you again in September if you happen to be about as I mooch on by. Tim
  15. www.envyvaleting.co.uk/products also have a pretty good range LOL, get stuck in
  16. ^ Good news Richie Glad to be able to help.
  17. Thanks all, very kind. 16 hrs indeed and that was all work too..if you include time looking at it going "mmm lovely" it was longer LOL!
  18. Envy Valeting have a long Swissvax history so it was nice to do a Swissvax detail on this M6. Booked for a correction detail due to swirls, light scratches and in need of a good freshen up. I can do that :thumb: Washed in the usual fashion ie wheels with Envy Brushes and Espuma Revolution, SSF, Dodo Sour power and dried off. Special attention was paid to the wheels as customer had requested all previous wheel weight glue and foam be removed thoroughly. Defects are pretty apparent Clayed to remove bonded contaminants. This car was pretty clean I have to say. Better measure the paint before getting going Moved indoors even under the lights the defects are pretty visible Being a BMW no messing, just reached for the fast cut plus and ultrafina on the megs buffing pad and used this combo throughout. A selection of pics, some polished, some not, some refined, some not. A 50/50 but with no tape and only 1 pass. Looking a bit clearer:buffer: BMW Ruby Black is very pretty De-dusted and paint cleansed with Swissvax CF normal it was time for a wax....wonder what?! Slapped on and left for.....as long as it took me to wax the wheels with Rimwax, dress the tyres with pneu, clean the glass with Crystal, nourish the rubber seals with Seal Feed, polish the exhaust tips etc etc. When all these jobs were done it was buffed off. Time taken 16hrs, boy they are big! Now for a couple of Italians from last week My Lancia customer from last year, due for a top up. Washed and dried, coat of platinum and covered over with a coat of Swissvax Scuderia. Lovely. Later in the week was time to do a thorough detail to prepare this Maserati 3200 for Auto Italia. Afters only but 2 days of beautification, topped off with Swissvax Best of Show. Thanks for looking. Tim
  19. Good to talk to you yesterday Richie The order is all wrapped and ready, why are the post offices not open on Sunday LOL?!
  20. Cheers, glad you liked them Personally I would possibly choose a more generic wax as you can use it on more than 1 colour of vehicle. The light fantastic is good for specific shades but you'd not want to use it on a black car LOL. Guess I'm saying you have more flexibility with the generic ones, but so does the supernatural (although higher up the price range)
  21. Out of the dodo I'd suggest the generic hard or soft waxes then ie Rainforest Rub or Hard Candy. If you have slightly bigger budgets go for the Supernatural which is very good on that colour (see the CSL thread from my IOM posts as used supernatural on that ) I do have panel pots in stock in my webshop and they're £15 each and will do a 350z about 4 times I'd say as a try out?
  22. CG 50/50 is a very good wax for the money but then so are the Dodo range. Excuse my ignorance but whats GM?! Best wishes Tim
  23. Somehow I had managed to coincide my trip with the Manx Telecom rally 2009 so spent an evening and the following day watching cars out on the various closed road stages. Not a lot of detailed cars here! Brilliant to get close, but safely to the action and to have WRC cars thundering past at such a well organised event. pt.3? Tim
  24. Some may remember I paint corrected Cupra Dave's car last October so it was due a top up at least, and I'd not been able to machine the boot as we had no sockets to get the spoiler off. Time to rectify that! The wax used last October was Crystal Rock and was still beading well after all that time. Washed as per usual, here she is ready to machine the boot. last time I had terrible trouble with sticky paint and this time was no exception. 4hrs just to do the bootlid! De-dusted. The car was given a cleanse and topped off with a nice wax. At the weekend I was taken out for a days run with the IOM branch of the SIDC, some of the sights..... pt.4?
  25. TT, Tims Tour LOL! Following on from this job it was once again time to hit the road and keep on moving! The Lake District was still damp as I left my B+B in Ulverston and made my way south west. Passed Martinmacs turnoff, nice part of the world mate Morecombe Bay looks nice Waiting for my boat Into the belly of the beast We're off, a nice 4hr crossing from Heysham to Douglas. Flat calm day, but luckily I had a cabin booked and had a rest. Only got disturbed when i started to move up and down the bed without trying:lol: Approaching Douglas some 4hrs later Here I was kindly met by Cupra Dave (off this forum) and he took me back to his place which was to be my base for the next 2 weeks. No rest though as it was bags in the room then out in his Scoob for a lap of the famous TT course, excellent! The next day Dave and his wife were at work so I made busy and got some practise in. Washed, clayed and given a coat of platinum. Tyres dressed, glass cleaned. Dave took me to have a look over Douglas and the harbour and then a trip to the Laxey wheel and Laxey mine. The Grandstand for the TT That night it was a night out with the Manx Yanx, bloody cold! Some out and about pics Ready for pt.2? Tim
