  1. The first one I viewed i initially really liked, but the garage were asking FAR to much, plus it had been sitting in the forecourt for 2 months and still had the previous owners dog hairs in the back, and it had "Jim" written on the rear strut in those crappy halfords silver letter....i left quite promptly. R
  2. Mine does the same, there is a small gap at the bottom...not sure what to do about it either. The pioneer facias that come with the unit are too wide for the hole, and if you trim them down it would look cr*p R
  3. Anyone installed one of these? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-350Z-03-DM ... 240%3A1318 R
  4. Just had an email back from the branch in Scotland. They want £550 + vat to do the top half of the zed in carbon, very reasonable i though. R
  5. Its on the insurance. I will definatly be complaining though, 2 months to actually get the car in there, then 2 weeks to do a simple job. If its not done spot on then some heads will be removed. R
  6. hmmmmmmmm looks smart, where is this done at? R
  7. Car went in on the 15th..not due out till the 27th... 12 DAYS TO FIT A NEW BUMPER!!!! Seriously! R
  8. They should raise the price of just for men eyebrow tint....that'll teach him! R
  9. http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/29-007_i ... apter.html Its just an adapter that plugs into the HU and the SOT cable. R
  10. I recon Evan Halshaws Aberdeen are staffed by day release patients from cornhill so im not sure if most even know how to spell 370z let alone know what one is. Which reminds me, my car is still with Arnold Clark getting repaired. Its not going to be finished by the time i have to go offshore (Thursday) so they said they would keep it in the showroom till i get home. I have taken note of the millage but if anyone see's it driving around can you let me know (most of you should know my plates). I just don't trust these garage punters further than i could throw them, I would go absolutly postal if I found out they were using it to thrash about in. Cheers R
  11. I found one of these kits in my old BMW, i just ripped it out...lol, no mercy, attacked it with a set of snips and a screwdriver. Just make sure its not connected to any important bits...mine wasn't so i just went at it. You wont need it after you install your new HU as it has bluetooth integrated in to it. R
  12. Can't help with the Bluetooth, but I think the whine is a common thing, i get it anyway, don't think its anything to worry about, probably an alternator/grounding issue. R
  13. I think the one from sextons will be just as good, it took about a month for delivery from the states and i got hit with import charges, so if i had to do it again it would be from sextons. The ariel should be a straight swap if its the same as the 900bt (which it most likely will be). It is VERY tight behind the centre console...expect some skinned knuckles. Its best to run the ipod cable down though the arm rest to the cubby as it will free up some much needed room behind the HU. Good luck R
  14. Im pretty sure there is adapters that allow installation into the cubby, but im sure someone will be along to confirm/deny this. R don't worry i gave in in the end and ordered the retractable cubby from JDM, just trying to work out if i should fork out for a new headunit to give the 2 screen look. have my eye on the pioneer 3100dvd at £350 looks good especially as i already have the Pioneer Avic F500bt for satnav. The f500 should have an AV out so you can just buy an extra screen and run it off the HU. R

  16. any idea where can get those pieces from? Is a facia still needed even tho its double DIN? muchos grazia Yeah you will need the facia as there is a gap around the stereo that looks cack. You can get the steering wheel loom and facia from sextons, i have linked locations of the parts on the front page. R
  17. Just the SOT cable, Steering wheel harness, ipod adapter (if needed) and facia...you can also buy the signal booster if you feel it will not be loud enough. R
  18. See if you could get your hands on an old game console controller, something like the xbox, the triggers may be strong enough to do the job. R
  19. Hey, from what i gather its a bit of a marmite headunit, but I love it. It does take a little while to boot into the UI, perhaps 30 seconds, but when it does it runs smoothly. If you listen to the radio or cd it will start playing music pretty much from the moment it is turned on but it need to fully boot up before it will play the ipod. It was specifically designed for ipod use so ipod navigations is really easy, you can search by artist, album, podcast, playlist etc and its shows all your tags and album artwork as its playing. Only bad point is I had to buy the ipod cable seperatly (but some places might throw it in). Navigation is excellent also, never been led up the wrong path yet, the speed cameras are also great, kept up to date quite regular. As with most speed camera identifiers you need to pay a yearly update subscription but its not expensive and you get your first year free. Bluetooth is also really good. Cons: Quite expensive, reletively long boot up time, have to buy ipod cable seperatly. Pros: Slick UI, Complete ipod control, Great satnav and speed detection, will play almost anything you give it on terms of music and video formats, great bluetooth phone control, not as expensive as other units that give you same or less functionality.
