  1. Looks great so far, i have seen these LED's before and they are VERY small, i think the fact you work in automotive electronics is a great benifit. R

  6. I have alot of respect for teachers, I don't know how you do it. I have no patients for cheeky little scr*tes and I would take great pleasure in beating their heads repeatedly off an immovable object! R
  7. bah, just back from mine, no more planned...... Maybe book a snowboarding holiday last minute in January though. R
  8. I was going to buy a M3 prior to the Zed and I made my decision purely down to the place I live, you find alot of pretty well off people in Aberdeen and their brand of choice is the BMW, more precicely the M3, they are absoultly everywhere. If a (E46)M3 passes you on the street people tend not to even notice, however I still find folk staring at the zed as it goes by even though there are a few up here. Also I am finding that alot of the (E46)M3 drivers are young offshore workers (like myself) but tend to come from Subaru, dissapointed with the new STi they are turning to the M3's, so you see alot of young guys with beanie hats driving them which kind of destroys the exclusive image of the M brand. I have driven quite a few of them whilst I was in to remapping and they are VERY capable machines, but if you compare the whole experience, including servicing costs I recon the zed is a better all rounder. Don't get me wrong, my last car was a BM and I pined after the M3 something rotten, but unless someone was going to swap me a CSL or E92 varient I wouldn't have it. R
  9. jeez, you could finance a lambo for that R
  10. fair enough....... ......i'll get my coat
  11. Not any more mate, on the Elgin now, what you mean is you sit in an office drinking tea then when your pump breaks down, you get the operators to sit outside in the p*ssing rain for hours on end adjusting the choke valves whilst your engineers pretend to know what they are doing trying to fix it, until our rig sparkies notice that the engineers have rigged the motor polarity up the wrong way round? am i close R
  12. you obviously missed the part when i said i was incredibly LAZY! R

  16. +1 PB Wheel sealent all the way, can usually get most the muck off with the powerwasher or at least a 1:10 mix of bilberry, great stuff and smells good too R
  17. quicky for all those with aftermarket wings, what is the best way to remove the GT spoiler, i have read somewhere that heatguns and force work and others say pour hot water under it to soften the glue. Can't seem to find any definative guides though, any tips on how to do it? Cheers R
  18. If your not too much of a brand whore you can get most of your stuff from halfords. You can't really go wrong with meguiars stuff its pretty well liked with amatures and professionals alike. Here is my recommended must gets: Kit: 2x Buckets (1 for washing 1 for rinsing your washmit), cheapo's from halfords or tescos will be fine. 1x Washmit (preferably sheepskin or the like something with a deep pile), available from Halfords for around £10 1x Sponge or another washmit (this is for doing the surface of your alloys) again Halfords £couple of quid. 1x long reach alloy brush (try and get one without the wire core as I find they keep bending and breaking), Halfords again. 2x Applicator sponges (for applying wax/polish/rimwax/alloy sealent etc), the meguiar ones from HF are good and one about a fiver. 1-2x Large weaved drying towel (essential for drying without dragging grit all over your nice swirl free paint), you may have to look online for one but you can get a very good quality one for around £10. 1x Pack of microfibre cloths (for polishing/buffing and cleaning) Halfords £5ish 1x Pack fine wire wool (for your tailpipes) Lots of rags for engine bay. exhaust and general dirty bits. Product Suggestions: Clean - Meguiars Gold Class or NXT Gen Shampoo (Halfords) Alloys - Bilberry (Buy online) PM Bulletmagnet for dilution ratio's (sorry mate) Clay Kit - Meguiars Clay Kit and Quick detailer pack (Halfords) £25 ish Exterior Plastics - Poorboys trim restorer (Halfords) Interior Plastics - Meguiars Interior Detailer (Halford) Engine Bay - AG Engine Deagreaser (Halfords) Polish - Wouldn't worry about this too much as GM is quite forgiving with swirls and hand polishing is quite hard work for little gains. Wax - I would recommend Colinite 472, a very hard and duarable wax, also works great on alloys (interweb) Autosol - Tailpipes (Halfords) Leather - Any leather cleaner and conditioner will work ok. Wheels/Tyre Shine - Meguiars Hot Rims (Halfords) So as you can see for your basic needs Halfords is fine, as you get more into detailing you will move on to different products. I would also suggest you save up for a decent powerwasher/foamlance and snowfoam, it helps no end on the initial cleaning stages. Good luck and happy cleaning R
