We made sure that the money was split between us,so on the off chance that one of us got mugged,the other still had half the cash. You should be fine on public transport.

When i got my Zed,i paid a deposit to the guy on the day of the test drive,and then the following weekend i took a trip down there with over 10k in cash. Was a faff to get it out the bank,as they wanted a few days notice to sort the money out. My partner was abit worried,as you would be,but at the end of the day,its there in solid state,and can be counted and sorted there and then. Its up to you if you feel happy doing that. Id avoid bankers drafts etc,as heard a few stories about them,fraud etc.

When i have my 2 buckets for washing,one could get knocked over the wood floor,your right. That would be a shame.......

LOL,cheers for that confidence boost Liam. Its an awesome house,that has all the features we both wanted. Me,the double garage and 6 car drive way. For her,a big kitchen with a table,a dining room,and 4 big bedrooms! Now i just need to fight the wood flooring!

In all fairness,i do have a double garage,so i cant complain too much. Though that is reserved for my detailing.

Colin,id love to be able to use that as an excuse for not getting it,but our new house is going to be detached,so neighbors wont be an issue. Hence the big home theatre set up.

So does this mean that anyone with say a Nismo V2 front bumper is going to have to put their original bumper back on for MOT's?

I would like to know how MOT guys are going to test the DCS/traction control system! Does this open the way to MOT operatives hooning around in your motor 'testing the T/C'?

I just dont see the point in wood flooring if you are going to have rugs over it! My partners brother in law has exactly the same view as me on it. So at a family gathering,it providing an interesting topic of discussion,as my partners sister wants it,and my partners mum has it. Looks like its girls v boys! lol Whats wrong with nice warm carpet!!!!!

I said about it being cold and echoey,and was told that we will have a few rugs down,and i said exactly the same thing,whats the point in spending all the money on wood flooring if you are covering it with rugs! I suggested having it in the hall way,and maybe the dining room,but she said she wants it through out the ground floor. Well at £20 psm as a starting price,then with fitting and underlay,its going to get very expensive!

Well this is the downside,that it is very noisy,which is why i dont want it. Its also cold,and under floor heating is not an option really,as it has a full compliment of radiators. Moving furniture shouldnt be a problem,but it is worth noting that it can be scratched easily. Guess il have to have little feet for my speaker stand spikes if i get them.

I dont think we would go for the laminate stuff,but also think the solid wood flooring will be too expensive,as the living room is 21x12 ish,so i think IF we do go down this route,it will be the engineered stuff. Whats it like for keeping clean etc compared to carpet?

Estelle wants wood flooring down in all rooms except the kitchen in the new house. Im not really a massive fan,and been trying to argue that carpet will be better. Is it possible to take up some sections of wood flooring (we will probably go for engineered spec) after it has been layed down? Im aware that the skirting board needs removing and moving up to accommodate the floor,but does this mean that if i wanted to pull up certain areas,(say for laying stereo cable) that i wouldnt be able to do it? Also,what are peoples experience of wood flooring,and would you (no pun intended) have it again? Looking to see both sides before making a decision on what would be best.

No not decorating when we move in,probably be 6months a year before we do. At which point i will pusg to put the cable in the wall,and mount the speakers there. But being so big,im abit worried they will look stupid mounted to the wall. In which case i should go for the Bose Satellite system,as they are small,and easy to mount on the wall. But they are not what i want.

Sorry for slow reply,yesterday was manic. Iv asked if i can put cable in the wall,and was told no,but i can run cable under our new floor that she wants installed before we move in. Was thinking that i could get away with stand mounts,and just make every precaution possible to make sure they are reasonably safe.

Im looking at taking the plunge with a home theatre system for the new house we move into in March. Looking at the B+W 685 system,on stand mounts. As this is going to be our family home,my mrs has said that there will be kids and toddlers (several of our friends are having babies) around the house. My argument is that the kids wont be allowed near my stuff,but she says i wont have a choice! How easy do speakers come off of their stands? Was thinking of dual locking them down or something,so they dont come off.

Cheers Colin,that one of your 370 is great. I need them as landscape really,as they will need to fill the TV screen,and have the car as the main focus point. The higher the res the better,as they wont pixelate on the TV screen.
