  1. The 2006 + is ok. But unfortunately it's nowhere near as nice as something like a TT or a boxtser. I'm really not a fan of the dash "pod" on the 350z. It just looks very cheap and low rent. But still, if you don't want to compromise, pay the 50% extra and get a porsche
  2. That's just it though. They are virtually NEVER entitled to do this. But in order to get your money back through the official channels is a right PITA and people usually give up over the sake of 100 odd quid. Best bet is to cut the bugger off. Ideally when the clamper isn't there. But if you chop it (causing minimal damage) it's up to the clampers to prove criminal damage in court. Of course, they won't be able to, because they will not have done so legally, and you're protecting property my removing it using reasonable force. So, not mashing the clamp up and throwing it through the clampers window, as much as you might like.
  3. no, they're not allowed. But the police tend to not do anything, and because they're so shifty it's hard to get money back!
  4. Take off and nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure...
  5. What I found was interesting about that race was not the results. But watching the cars. I know exit speeds and such count. But the 370z *appeared* to have literally nothing on the basic boxster in terms of acceleration. Lighter or not, the 370z should of had a 100bhp advantage. If you factor in weight, the net difference should still be around 60bhp. Which is more than 20% and should easily be noticeable, even if not being driven as well.
  6. If it's a private clamping company what they are going is illegal. They're technically holding your car hostage, for an unpaid invoice ( the clamping fee) but as they aren't an official body such as the police, they have no rights to do this and cannot issue a charge, or a fine, only an "invoice". So you are well within your rights to use "reasonable force" and "self defence" to protect yourself or your property. Ergo, removing the clamp. As long as it's not excessive. But good luck getting your money back off them. As said, they're usually shell companies, and/or they won't give a @*!# if you take them to court and get a CCJ Issued for the money owed. They'll just **** of and re-surface under another name if the heat gets too strong. If it's not the police/council themselves, your best and easiest method, if you are able, is to cut the clamp off and get out of dodge. Because their actions aren't justified they can threaten, but they'll have no luck getting the clamp cost back off you either. DON'T get physical with the clampers though. Then they will have the right to call the cops and get you done.
  7. Yeah. Stop with the gay plates and you won't get pulled. We don't want the Z getting an even more chavvy image!

    Potholes

Trouble with all of this is the horrendous inefficiency within governmental organisations. Money is wasted on middle management ****wits and half baked projects that get abandoned mid way through. The rest is chucked into people like accenture, and other "consultancy" firms which are there only to rip us off. It's sad to think we give more then enough in taxes to make huge improvements. It just goes into black holes. As always, the weak link is always people
  9. Where can I get those lights from? I think they look nice.
  10. Thanks anyway Chrissy. You get a kiss too Im not sure how much it's using at the mo, as it's only just come to my attention. Hence all the research regarding it. I was initially just going to monitor usage, and if it was high, well, just chalk it up to a slightly greedy engine with not much I could do, unless it got really serious. Adlidy above then posted the TSB and it grabbed my interest! I've had a message back from my friend asking if I'd like to take the car into one of the Nissan Garages, as they ARE apparently aware of a problem with oil usage. What exactly that means, and what if any liability they would accept if a problem exists, I don't know!
  11. That's the issue they had in the US. Nissan were fobbing people off saying it was normal usage. It was only with lots of bitching and whining, and gnashing of teeth that got a TSB issued in the first place. I'm just thinking maybe Nissan Uk need someone to shove it in their face before they'll admit it over here too!
  12. Oh, don't get me wrong dude. It sucks for you I know! But If I was the seller, with someone waiting to come see the car and prior to that someone came and offered me MORE money for it on the spot. I couldn't not take it. Just like your seller said he let you have it, but didn't. A potential buyer could tell you as the seller they are definitely going to take it, then not. Then you lose that sale, and potentially anyone else that came to view in the meantime, or previously who you've now declined a sale to. While it's not a particularly great thing to do, from his point of view he's getting £200 quid extra which isn't to be sniffed at, and he's guaranteed a sale there and then. As for all he knows you could of pulled out after travelling up to see it.
  13. I appreciate it mate! The TSB does say 1/3 of a quart (about 400ml) in 1000-1500 miles usage is excessive and would warrant a change!
  14. Oh My car is using a bit of oil. There's a TSB that's pinned on the US forum that states that if oil usage over 1000 miles is greater than 8mm on the dip stick then it could warrant an engine change. I haven't done any official measurements on my car yet. But in the first isntance, I was wondering if Nissan UK would honour a TSB (which seems to list only US 06 model cars) if the problem does actually exist on my car.
  15. You know Gaz's wife? I was speaking generally, about my gf! Why, should I know her?
  16. sorry to hear that, that drills down to spinal cord... the dude didnt have any... spine! If he did he wouldn't have sold to someone else... Well, I dunno about you. But if I was the seller, my spine would be saying TAKE THE EXTRA £200, then use it for a thai back massage!
  17. check the headlights dude. To be honest though. If you're spending 17k. Maybe search a bit harder, push your budget a bit and get the 07. They are the ones with the bonnet bulge. On paper, they may appear to only have 10bhp or so more. But it's actually more like 20. I think it was something to do with the way BHP was measured in the states, which changed between 06-07.
  18. Well. I have a friend who works somewhere in the depths of Nissan HQ. She kindly passed on my query and apparantly customer services will be in contact via email at some point. I'll let you all know what they say, if and when they get back to me.
  19. its an 06 same as mine. the changes came with the 56 reg plate Ok, so what BHP would I have? is there a way to find out without a rolling road haha (what should it be?) YES If you have facelift headlights/rearlights (as per my previous post) you have 296. If you don't, you have 276. Simples!
  20. All tree fiddies have xenons. The facelifts have much larger xenon headlight projectors (the sphere shaped glass lense within the whole headlight cluster). Within the front headlights themselves they also have 4 orange LEDs replacing an orange reflector running down the side, present on the older models. Of course they also have rear LED clusters. Same shape, but distinguished by the multiple lights within the cluster, rather than a single bulb. Facelift Pre-facelift If it's got the latter, then it's not a facelift!
  21. I find giving her a pearl necklace much cheaper...
  22. Ditch any credit cards you have. Don't buy anything on credit barring a house and a car. If you need to do so, you can't afford to buy said item in the first place! Credit cards should only be used in emergencies, or to accrue points and secure/safeguard your purchase, and should be paid of before any interest is payable. Servicing credit card debt with minimum payments is money down the drain. I'd rather put that money to fuel in the Z I'm 27 and used to burn shitloads of cash going out and drinking and the like. But I try to limit that now, go round people houses with a crate and/or a bottle of vodka and save some pennies there as well. As gay as it sounds, making a spreadsheet of your net income and outgoings is a good idea, and will allow you to manage your funds much more effectively.
  23. I shall. I wonder if anyone else in the UK has done this successfully. Thanks darling
  24. Don't go Before I ring the dealer. Are there any cold facts about Nissan UK honouring TSB's issued in the US?
  25. it's different with TSB... check with a Nissan garage, got a gearbox/clutch swapped out on a Mazda MX5 03 ,2006 so thats 3 year after warranty runs out.. think it's different if you got factory problem... worth a call Quote: Nissan releases TSB NTB07-088c: 2005- 2006 350Z: Engine Oil Level Is Low You're a sexy beast Andlid! Not sure if I should be running at this stage... (or better yet driving!) Ahh, I read the last page on that link you sent me. At least in the US, drivetrain warranty is 5 years/60k miles. My car's due a service about 2k miles so I think I'm going to do this! You sexy bea...bitch!
