  1. ^^ spot on. I get really fed up with the acting. Shame really because he is a really good presenter and I've seen loads of non car related documentaries and you can tell he really loves explaining stuff and knowing what things are like to experience (even if some are insane)
  2. I wouldn't listen to Clarkson's opinions any more tbh. He is a presenter that is paid to entertain and no longer inform you real feelings about a car - facts and feelings don't bring in viewing numbers but shouting, complaining and prancing about does. I've often noticed that on almost every other episode he says "this really is the best car i've driven"...er...right? He's driven pretty much every car on the planet - yet every week he finds a new toy he loves. He is in a Veyron and says its on another scale and its a concorde moment and then on his recent DVD he says he'd rather have an R8 V10 than a Veyron. Another example was when he compared the Focus RS to the Megana R26.R. He shouts about the fact the RS is amazing, etc and then in the end he says both are good. I can't honestly say Top Gear or Clarkson represents good opinion about cars any more - unless its above £100k, but then everyone expects it to be god damn awesome. He contradicts himself all the time - I'm sure he is told by the BBC to keep things lively rather than tell the truth. Truth = boring to the non petrolheads.
  3. But what do you eat for breakfast????? No time for breakie! It's a daily routine of wake up when dark, go to shower, get changed and leave for work on the exact minute otherwise i'm considered "late". Probably the same for most here...
  4. You could dismantle the whole car and then build it again around the battery. This is a long way around though...
  5. I'm 25 and live in a rented flat with my girlfriend in London. The socks I am wearing today are black,my hair is dark brown (some say black but they are wrong) and I have brown eyes, height is about 5'10 I guess. Done.
  6. I dreamt that I handed my keys over to the MOT guys and came back and everything was wrong with it. They swapped the brakes over for some horrid rusty bent things, the front end had been crashed into a tree or something, the rear wing was wobbly, loads of small dents all over it. So glad it was a dream!
  7. How strange...I had one a few weeks back and it was some little punk kid had broken into my garage and chalked all over it "for fun".
  8. Sounds a nice idea, although http://www.cardomain.com/ seems to have beaten you to it. That said MySpace beat FaceBook and look who is laughing now..
  9. lol....I'm sorry - I had to. It's not really... I kinda like it. Like a beefed up Merc AMG Black with a GTR. Wheels should be 5 spoke black though for a menacing look

    MOT Day...

I'm confident no rollers were used - the garage was fairly small and no rollers were seen.

    MOT Day...

I'm going to presume a drive. Odometer didn't change, so couldn't have been that longer drive and so long as I get it back as I left it I'm not too worried. Seeing a mechanic doing burnouts was often going through my head as well.
  12. Lets face it, love them or hate them they've done a lot for the car scene - a huge amount. A lot of people would watch them, prance about in their Saxos for a few days or even weeks and then get bored. However, from a few that saw the film a real car enthusiast was born. So, OK we dont all go around streets at night with tacky neons going "yo yo yo man wassup, where's ya pink slips" and all that rubbish but they've contributed a lot to petrolheads. And they're fun to watch; do I care that a car floor doesn't suddenly fall out when going 140mph..no? Or that you can drift in a romantic way whilst having a convo...(your ears would blead in a real drift racer its god damn noisy). It's cool to watch even if it is sometimes fantastically inaccurate. F&F1: Awesome. Really kicked things off in a big way and fairly good story behind it, plus good eye candy. F&F2: Er...someone went a bit mad with ganstas and computer graphics. Poor story and too much "yo yo yo - ing" F&F3: Random yet good story. Miss the original characters but loved the cars - getting more realistic (If I can say that). F&F4: Focused too much on characters and not the cars - people went to see the shiney cars and don't care about the characters. Good to see Vin and Walker again though - plus the cars were kept how a real petrol head would have it (no neons and stuff - keeping it clean looking).

    MOT Day...

Bit of a waffly 'story' but here goes... I always fear these days, yet I'm not sure why... I know the car is in tip top condition, infact a fair chunk of it is pretty much brand spanking new (tyres, wheels, exhaust system, etc) but I still get jittery about it. Knowing a qualified mechanic is checking every key component of my car looking for faults - and today was that day. Sounds silly but I worry about it a fair amount...the usual questions go around in my head such as "are the brakes good enough", "what if they find a flaw in a tyre", etc and yet I know I'm standing right next to the thing and know there isn't anything mechanically wrong with it. Infact I get comments all the time like "its looks brand new". Why should I be worried? Well, because I am. I drop her off, hand over the keys to the MOT garage and await the news (although my head still repeats the fantasy phone call "Hello...Mr Aitken, we've just done your MOT and we've spotted that..."). This means the wallet is about to take an impact even after hundreds of man hours of love and care. 2.5 hours later at home and still no phone call...."what has happened...? what have they found? what are they even looking for? Are they going to 'con' me out of some hard earned cash I need?" So...I turn up at the garage (still no phone call)- starting to really sweat a bit now. The car is parked outside all locked and so I enter the garage and see all mechanics working away on anything but exotic or sports car like. My bright blue zed is standing out like a sore thumb outside. I walk inside the office to get my news but no one is at the desk so I wait and notice three things... A: There are some awesome tools I'd like in my own personal garage B: There is a red MOT certificate on the desk behind the counter C: There is a green MOT certificate on the desk behind the counter Both certificates are too far away to read and I'm now worried. Again, not sure why I just am whilst thinking "what could they have possibly found wrong if the red one is mine?! How much will it cost to fix?!" Waited for 10 mins, which seemed forever and finally a mechanic came over and asked for payment for the MOT. Standing there whilst I press my PIN number into the card thingy he is writing out my receipt and.... underneith is my GREEN MOT certificate. PHEW! Crazy and over-reacting I know, but god damn I hate random silly days like this as they can often go one of two ways. Result = full tank of V-Power and a good old drive afterwards (although in the rain).
  15. As with most things, you'll end up with a biased view since we are all zed nuts here. Never driven the S2000, but you can always book for a test drive in your local dealers - then you'll know the answer. Fuel economy is probably the same, no real problems with zeds as they are solid cars much like the S2000. Pretty much same speed too - I guess its all down to what you want and what you like.

  20. Went to work today. No snow problems in central London.
  21. I got mine from here: http://www.specialisedcarcovers.com/ £175.95 fully waterproof, breathable and tailored with no extra cost to fit my Nismo body kit. I actually met the guy at the NEC motorshow where I ordered it and he was really nice and knew what he was doing. You can't put it on when dirty as the tiny bits of dirt may scratch the paint. Keep it clean and polished and you shouldn't have any problems at all. You can have it wet and put it on (the water will evaporate through it), but it can't be dirty. If you have anything non standard like a body kit, they will need pictures of the added extras (e.g. spoiler) with measurements, so they know how much more material they need to add on.
  22. What areas are we supposed to book for the Wales trip?
  23. I got a Nismo. This will tell you all you need to know >
  24. Any more details or is it top secret for now?
