  1. A good excuse not to wash the car so that it doesn't stand out so much.........no can't resist, must ..wash.. car
  2. After meeting you in Wales (and the PM ) I'm finally posting my similar repair. As you can see it's pretty much identical to yours in size and position. My feelings at this point Popped around to see Dentcraft who are based in Sheldon, Birmingham. I think he also does work in Brighton, the wrong way for you though. Was quoted £70 to fix with the method I mentioned earlier. To gain access a small hole was drilled behind the dent. This photo shows the grommet after the repair. The black patch is some extra underseal I slapped on for added protection and some photos of the finished repair You can see a small bit of distortion on the wheel arch ridge (just above my domed head). After taking the photo I had to go and have another look. I guess it's just the way the light was in the photo as the repair is completely invisible to the naked eye. Hope you can find someone to fix yours now that you know it's possible
  3. I bet you don't get any problems with radio reception with that front wing mounted aerial
  4. Some great pics so far Weeded most of ours down to these. Where is everyone? Arrived 5 minutes after you left (according to the toll booth man)
  5. Sorry to start off on a downer, but was there was an accident on the way home (A5) involving at least one member of the Wales drive out. Hope all involved were OK. The Zed looked very very poorly. Quite a few others had already stopped to assist so they will most likely fill us in. Think it may have been Sunset 350z. If that's the case hope you're both fine. On the plus side it was a very well organised day as usual. I'll join the others in posting all the photos once they're sorted.
  6. Silver Zed (04 plate I think) passed me at around 15:00 today. I gave you the thumbs up but didn't see a response
  7. I know for my old RE050A tyres I used the 35psi recommendation. Would this not change depending on what manufacturers’ tyre you use? Never really thought about it much before. Today I had Vredestein sessantas fitted all around. Their web site is pretty comprehensive and lists the pressures for the 350z (with standard 18" tyres) as 45/42psi front/rear Mentioned this to the fitters and they thought that sounded way too high. I’ve dropped Vredestein an email to clarify and kept them at 35psi for the time being
  8. Black Zed at the small round about by the ice rink, tonight at about 19:10
  9. Hi FlamingMoe, I think the only way to improve the look of the sat nav display will be to rip it out and fit an after market unit ( that's if you have the standard fit birdview). Although there will be new disks available I believe they just give more current map data and no actual improvement in the visual area. I may be wrong but my '07 version looks pretty pants. It gives a nice representation of the motorway signs when you reach certain junctions (not sure if that is on the 55 versions) and does the navigation job well, just not that visually impressive.

    New Tyres

What sizes were they. Quite fancy trying the Vredestein and can find the 245/45 R18. The only ones I can see as 225/45 R18 are XL ones. Checked out the Vredestein website and it seems these are what they recommend for the Zed with pressures f/r at 45/42psi
  11. Cheers, had a fiddle and also found Image > Adjustments > Replace Colour Will have a play with both methods
  12. Can anybody give some simple instructions on how to change a specific colour in an image? I followed a tutorial, some time ago, and remember that it was pretty straight forward...but can I remember now? I have an image of a painting that's predominantly purple and I wish to change the purple to green. An online gallery will then be able to knock up the finished article for me Thanks
  13. Black Richbrook twist back to match the car . I also bought some Zed wing badges with the intention of sticking one on the back of the holder but 8 months later and still not got around to it.
  14. Cheers will have a look Not in any rush so would rather a nice drive

    Tape Deck

Found an old shoe box full of tapes from around 15-20 year ago. Started going through them on my journies to work.... and they don't sound too bad!
  18. Black Zed spotted down the country lanes between Stoneleigh and Baginton (Coventry) airport. Gave you a wave :bye:
  19. The report just shown on the BBC news had slightly different information. They mentioned introducing 20mph limits around schools and reducing some rural roads to 50mph (which we have already seen happening). The important point they made was that this will be on a case by case basis and not a blanket reduction in the national speed limit. Hopefully not as bad as it originally sounded but I guess we'll have to wait to get full details.
  20. Followed a Works GP down the dual carriageway, by me, yesterday. Lovely car and only just managed to keep up . Apparentley, I read, only 450 sold in this country. Decided to post on the mini2 forum and amazingly got a response. Nice to meet some fellow petrolheads Rentech: Nice works GP along the A45 towards Birmingham about 30 minutes ago. Appeared in my rear view mirror along a country lane outside Hampton in Arden then we continued past the airport. At the lights I followed you until the speed camera spoilt the fun......and I was trying to keep up in my 350Z Gave you the thumbs up as I turned off Beautiful looking car, just been reading up about it on the net. Works GP driver: god bless you sir! me and my mate were out for a spin! my mate caught the thumbs up off you! i must say your cars lovely too! Works GP passenger:That was me sitting in the passenger seat we where discussing how nice your 350z was, bloody lovely car! We gave you the thumbs up too as you turned off. now that makes the day excellent! Just washed mine now and ready for the piston heads tunnel run Rich if you read this next Sunday there is the breakfast club in Wolverhampton with mini addiction if you interested in coming?

    Boot Clips

I had six in mine, four on the floor of the boot and two more under the rear strut. If you have the same couldn't you move one of the strut ones to the corner and just plug the hole with a grommet? Never used the strut ones myself
