    Pads question

Hi gents, I'm looking at a pad it's black and it has the following number on the back lw 2208 90r-01010/2099 does anyone know what pad that would be? I've got 6mm left on the fronts and 9mm on the rears... from what I can gather a EBC pad is 10mm thick, does that go for any pads really or does that differ pads to pads? Any light? A
  9. thanks for the headsup and for the offer! (might have to stockup before going back home)
  10. To look on a car for me... I know this isnt even a Z Short story is that I need to change my family car for a 'real' family car that can use a child seat in the back (forward facing) So very litte flavour over here (Ireland) so looking in the UK... found a nice looking Volvo S60 but don't want to get on a plane just to find it's not gearing properly or turbo is gone, not sure how English car sellers behave but here they'll say it drives well and when you get there there the gearbox is f*cked or wont even start... and you get told 'we'll fix that and have it mint when you pick her up' - like wtf... So anyway if anyone would like to assist me in going to have a quick look at her I'd REALLY be gratefull, I'd pay for any cost involved in doing so! Here is the location: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=GU14+6A ... 16&iwloc=A And here she is: http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/uvl/po ... distance=0 Here is some stuff to look out for: Test idling while slight decline with less then 1/4 tank. < could die as a result of this due to a petrol pump valve. Gearing while putting from P to D, driving gearing smooth, kickdown works? (hit acc let go and hit it again quickly) Suspension clonks and wandering, bushes on the front mount (don't worry about the bushes) Central locking, lock doors and see if any pops back up. < do that a few times. 2002> DSTC ETM module should be replaced If I get this one I'll go down to BSR and get a tune box the 1st thing I do

    Disabling ABS

Do you mean if you got off the track into the kiity litter(gravel trap ) having no ABS will enable you to drive through right? If that's your question then the answer is no as the ABS will have nothing to do with it. ESP is what you want off but anyway this is hypothetical anyway because deep in the litter you are going nowhere but get stuck like A BEACHED WHALE Same reason you are advised to switch it off when driving in snow/ice to give you traction. That,s what i meant by people percieving ABS as ESP/TC on the Zed which is not so. ABS inputs into ESP but are fundamentally different. ESP is cuts power via ECU control to regain you grip while ABS applies brakes to a prelocking wheel to avoid skid hence loss of control. no having o ABS = CAR will dig down in the gravel trap Having ABS = wheels wont dig down

    *STANCE*

no just need lowering id say.
  14. I didnt care much for tyrewarmes until I lowsided due to cold tyres...
  15. what colour did the wheels have? Like blueish? any photos? above is a tyre that has done to many heat cycles. Reason why bikers use tyre warmers after each session on the track is ALSO that it keeps the tyre in the same heatcycle...

  17. Sounds like your tyres got to hot... 'melting' dont think thread matters really but you've got them cooking from the sounds of things, driving a bit to hard for them

    Disabling ABS

could there be another reaon to disable the abs in case you've got an off and instead of digging down it'll just keep going into the barrier? sounds plausable...
