  1. you did not even take the wheels off!
  2. hehe I know a numpty rx8 owner... feel sorry for him, nowhere to get it seen to really... rotary what? Poor sod, you have to feel sorry for people that bought one expecting it to be just a normal car. I'm pretty sure 15mpg will quickly convince them otherwise.... There are a lot of specialists though to be fair, somewhere like RX motors in Blandford would do a full rebuild for around £2k. If you just ended up taking the car to the dealer though.... ...bad luck, its an enthusiasts car so need a bit of web forum use to work out the best places to take it. we're both in eire
  3. is the reason not to have it kick in @ 4k for safety and durability of the engine? 4k is a good mark I think for trackdays etc So I take it you got a cruise button on the wheel and you'd use that to change maps... = go for it It does sound like you're firmly stuck in with the engine modding now
  4. Brilliant figures mate you must be very happy with that! Waiting for the driving vids That is a nice dyno setup Mark has there
  5. how much left is on the discs? The brake pattern on them don't look to 'hot'
  6. OR you've got a real good car with a rebuild engine, gearbox and stillen SC ... ask to get it up to garage of your choice, bargain the price and get it a good once over... or walk away The stillen install must be worth a bit mate.

  8. Sweaty watching them clips! Amazing to see it, like the little rear cam! some close moments after you finally dump that subaru, you can really see that both drivers and cars where going for it at just under 60 sec on the part 2 video! I know why he was breaking to late and locked it up, must have been SO hard for him to see that Z going that litlte bit faster on the straight Such a loss of traction after that though and when the rain started! I'm so jelaous watching that looks cool but no clue if it actually works (saw it in action on a 900bhp Skyline around Mondello...) You need something to keep the ass down on the Z for sure... any ideas on using one of thos fip type wings? Oh before I forget some nice rubber you put down on the start grid Well done! A (close call at 5.50... )
  9. Quote: Edit 2 the suzuki 9000 red line was purely arbitary. It was shaft speed not rotor speed.as is the 7000 RPM of the one used in the Mazda, There is no theoretical peak speed, Just because wickpedia say's it doesn't necessarily mean it is gospel the engine used in the DKW was the same used in the NSU and when coupled to a "Turbo matic" transmission as made by FENDT used to see engine "rotor" speeds in excess of 30,000RPM. Infact on one such test bed using an adiabatic setup the mechanical tacho failed rpm matched that of a Turbo jet before mechanical failure of the tip seals caused the engine to reach its limit. So... From: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 315AAs2RrY funny how everything you read on the Internet is true
  10. No before or after with em turned on...
  11. I've just notice that too! Looks more like they have cut it in half! He hasn't taken possesion of the car yet I believe so can still walk on this one? Sure the OP has grounds to pull out of the deal given the fact the information supplied is incorrect? (ie the Full service History that the ad claims!) , hopefully one day I'll be able to contribute something back to it. I've recently purchased a '04 350z, fulfilling 2 years of dreaming! Hmm ok so either purschased or NOT purschased, can see above that he then changed it... mmm If you got a chance to walk away I'd walk away... OR get a reputable garage to give it a once over then haggle the price down I'd do the latter if it turns out good from the garage. With reputable garage I'm not talking a Nissan garage or the garage you're getting it from I'm talking about a garage at that knows how to tune these cars and can diagnose them properly and know what aftermarket mods is on her. Live on the edge...
  12. looked at that for sale add, if it's yours can you confirm that someone battered the airbox and cut a hole in it?
  13. Take the car to Abbey and let them give it a once over! We're still waiting for pics btw... Abbey is linked in here: http://www.google.ie/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=114711046404483198262.00048949888b2c11ca50b&ll=52.908902,-2.39502&spn=4.241159,8.503418&z=6
  14. good read, glad you like it! get a 10£ camera I want to see this baby in action!
  15. great writeup mate, will have to watch them movs when I'm not annoying the other half, glad to hear the camera worked! the more I read thsi stuff the more I get my head around doing this to my own car
  16. It depends what sort of auto box you compare. There are some auto boxes that will change gear in 60 milliseconds that are not double clutch technology, which also perform brilliantly in full auto mode. The historic view of a manual stick being the "proper" way to drive is fast disappearing. Look at most modern day sports cars and you will find that the majority are offered with "auto" transmission and an increasing number don't even offer the option of a manual box. Mmm I think you're correct but I'd want a sequential type gearbox and not really flappy gearbox on the steering. Having experience with both the geatronic in the current Volvo and the Altezza RS200 has the tip tronic on the steering. Find that the DSG box in the Golf GTI is pretty good, haven't had the luxury to test the GTR R35 box or any other more luxury type gearboxes really. Cost of repairing a autobox is a big turnoff too...
  17. Free time = hands on Work time = lappy, keyboard and monitor... and some cabling... and some drawings lift some device of some sort and sometimes even get to rack things with bolts!
  18. Don't know him personally but he's been on here a long time and I've never heard anyone raise any concerns. Have you used that phone thing?
  19. +1 Be a man not a mouse So... which one is for straight and which is for gay? Easiest would be to see what type of car gay people drive right?
  20. Did you read the posts previous to this? I don't care Thanks Husky, as I thought...
