  1. I wouldn't be happy with that finish if I'm honest. Have you approached them with your concerns?
  2. Been working on your photo submission mate?
  3. Neil at the weekends sounds good. just need a scantily clad female ti assist. Any volunteers???
  4. Yes Lexx - and let's not forget to email in and say how much you enjoyed the column. Rabbitstew - my idea for the photo is this. You sitting at the table gazing lovingly at the pie with crust that looks like it's been baked by the breath of god himself. In the background - a scantily clad dressed women looking for you to show interest in her pie and being ignored. And your could be any number of things: And my personal favourite: Sorry Doll! You've been pied! Thanks Neil - if this takes off he'll need a manager!

  6. ...and support rabbitstew in becoming a world recognised michelin star awarding pie reviewer! After following his pie blog, I thought that a column of this topic would not go amiss in a lads mag like 'Nuts'. After all, what do blokes like better than scantily clad women, beer and a good pie. So, yesterday I wrote to nuts saying the following: Dear Sir/Madam, I am a regular reader of your magazine (ok - this isn't strictly true) and have a suggestion that I think would be widely accepted as an enjoyable column. I got the idea by following a colleague's blog which reviews pies. He is, in his words, 'right into pies' and would be the perfect candidate to carry this idea forward. Have a look at his blog: http://pie-reviews.blogspot.com/ Most of mates that I have mentioned it to now follow and think it's a great idea! Yours Sincerely, Craig Now I didn't know if I would hear back but today the Editor-at-large emailed me saying: Hi Craig, I'm hooked! Have your colleague take a photo of himself surrounded by pies and we’ll plug it on the Letters page. Pete @ Nuts It seems he is willing to plug the idea to readers and if it's received well by readers who knows??? Hopefully Rabbitstew is up for this as I've not even asked him yet but being the pie lover i know he is, he'll jumpmright on board. Let's support his pie in the sky dream and get him some pies so he can take a cracking photo. Pies, pie boxes and pie funds will be warmly received I'm sure. Better go tell him now
  7. It could be a full page spread. Pie vs pie....or maybe even Have your pie and eat it.
  8. What a write up and I even got a mention! I genuinely believe you could get a pie column in nuts magazine. I'd have to fix your spelling though. PM me your paypal - the Heston pie is on me. Cheers mate, really appreciated. Not sure nuts would be interested in a pie column, but if someone can arrange it i wont say no! Spelling wise, ive deliberately not spell-checked any of my postings as i felt that added to the experience! The blog is developing tho, bought a couple of domain names, now looking to host it myself. Im just glad there are so many pie lovers out there, i dont feel like some weirdo on my own any more!!! I've emailed nuts magazine in true dragon den style telling them a pie column is the way forward and used your blog as a reference. Just wait for the offer to come rolling in!

  15. Gonna tell us why now? Lol
  16. I dont hang about mate. Strike while the irons hot and all that.... Initial impressions... Well, Waitrose does have a certain "quality" feel about their pies, it looks very tasty from the packaging, as always they show an awesome looking pie, with filling ousing out. But then I felt the same about the Tesco Deep Fill pies and they were a very sad disappointment. In fact they were the lager shandy of pies. Having had the waitrose pizza tonight, have to say it was totally awesome. One of the best ive tried. If this succulent looking pie is anything like their pizzas then im in for a treat! In fact, after ive reviewed all the pies in the world I may have to move onto Pizza reviews. Aww, this thread is too awesome. Make sure you drop me a PM for the review when it's in.
  17. You have actually purchased the pies - that's a quick turnaround time! I'm mighty impressed. I can't wait to read your review - if it's a good enough read I might pay for your pie and try and secure you a pie review column in men's health magazine. What are your initial impressions of the waitrose purchasing, packaging and does it weight fill you with any kind of meat filled confidence?
  18. Ach - I was going to bring my wheelchair again to see if he could keep up this time.
  19. I think you might have nailed it this time.
  20. He wanted it in the middle of the White cross I believe mate. :-)
  21. I'm told the roast chicken pie is the one to go for
  22. This thread about cyclists reminds me of a Scottish guy that is on YouTube. He films himself cycling about and going off his banger. Here are some examples - look him up - his name is magnatom and he has dozens of vids from his helmet cam. He is a helmet. There is even videos of him arguing with another guy whonsays he cycles - he cycles in what he calls the 'primary' position. This is the position that I know as the middle of the bloody road
