  1. Sounds like the jag owner bottled it. The bmw story is amusing though
  2. My parents have one of those too. Even better to use on your brother or sister when they don't expect it. I always find elbows or tops of ears get the best reaction
  3. +2 they are definately something else! Anyone else notice the mullet on the guy with the tattoo on his back in the latter half of the video? Classy!
  4. Just give it some lean and around you go! Wouldn't fancy get a spare tyre for it!!!
  5. Hi Lexx, glad you have finally change car and are happy with it. It looks good, I'll have to swing by sometimes and have a poke around in it! If you ever want a swap for a weekend just to reminisce, let me know
  6. BAR-GAIN! I'm definately going to look into this next summer!
  7. I think what I was doing was putting too much on (probably dabs twice the size of yours) and then not working it in enough therefore leaving loads of polish on the pad. I was just a bit over cautious (by the sounds of it) of causing damage to the paint, but on reflection its quite hard to do with a random orbit polisher. I'm due to give it another go soon and will be a bit more manly about it Thanks for the tips
  8. Looks like a brilliant weekend away. Any idea on the general cost for this? I'm way up int he North East so will cost me a tank or three to get to Dover and back extra!
  9. Hi Tez, really good results there the exhaust especially looks stunning! One question I have. I was correcting the pink paint on my parents batter old corsa (something to prctice on before I move onto the Zed) and the pad had quite a bit of polish built up on it. In this situation is it best to change the pad, or wash it and carry on using it once it had dried a bit? I noticed that the build up was affecting the results I was getting.
  10. Looking good Lexx, can't wait for a poke around in it and can't wait for some more pics and a detailed report on what it is like Are you selling all your bit (guitar, light cluster and gear stick) so you can afford the petrol for the first few days?
  11. to the forum! You'll probably have picked the car up by now, so its time to say I'm based in the North East too, so we'll probably catch up in the next few months when we get around to oranising another meet. One thing I will say about petrol is that I was under the impression from the booklet that you are meant to run it in 97 ron or higher. I always put in 99 ron Tesco super unleaded in it. Use the search button and see what people say. No point buying the car and scrimping on the looney juice!
  12. ahhhhhhh must have missed that bit of info out. All makes sense now
  13. A nice reflective shot for all you detailers out there!
  14. Insurance is due tomorrow, had quotes from almost everyone including Chris Knott (who quoted me £350 last year but I hadn't had the car for a year so couldn't take it) who this year quoted me £700. My renewal from Bell was £600 and I eventually got Admiral down to £512 and thats with the rear spoiler, the missus on the insurance (who has one claim) and bulletproof no claims protection. job done
  15. Hi Chris, and As pointed out by martinmac and Lexx, I live in Yarm and drive through the high street at least twice a day Drop me a PM if you have any questions or want a poke around one. I'm sure between me and Matt we can sort something out. You've definately done the first thing right though........joined this club loads of help and advice about, just use the search and read the FAQ. Hear from you soon Shuck
  16. I've got the HP1400 Halfords pressure waher and its pretty good for the money. I only use it for washing the car and sometimes with my snow lance. Its done everything I have expected and is still going strong, only had it for about 9 months though! Can't really complain at that price though.
  17. Lexx, just seen this topic and I thought "oh no, he is thinking of leaving............again, dont worry it will never happen" but this time you ARE leaving I'm happy that you have eventually settled on something you like. I remember you were getting a bit peeved with your car not selling. That car is a beast, and still falls within the Lexx branding (white!) Can't wait to see it, keep in touch
  18. Squeaky brakes Lexx.......... Falcon are brilliant, I definately wouldn't go anywhere else plus they are about 10 miles from my house
  19. Detective Shuck has an outside bet on it being Elfman! He is the only guy I know who does look like he should still be in nappies and he drives a ginger Zed Sorry Elf mate, but I reckon it was you!
  20. In true Father Ted style, the wheels are big, because they are close. The car is small......because its far away! On topic, the wheels look really Can't imagine them being around for long. GLWTS
  21. Really sorry to hear you are stepping down. In my time on this forum you have been a pretty consistant mod and have made me chuckle with some of your posts. I hope you really enjoy Wales and stick around afterwards. All the best for the future
  22. The rears sound like Falken ZE912 - £98.60
  23. Not true. My GT has these wheels on, as the RAYS were an optional extra upto about a 55 or 06 plate I believe. Mine are 18" so I see no reason why these are not 18" either. The one thing I used to look at when checking if it was a GT is to see if it had 6 buttons on the steering wheel. Easiest way I found as most/all adverts have pics of the inside of the car. Car looks good, hope everything works out for you.
