  1. I think this must have been a switch or router issue at the hosts, as I was unable to access the control panel to reboot. (which is possible even during an outage usually). Apologies for the down time folks.
  2. Its the only one Im likely to win when pitted against quite a few of the cars on here, so yes - it will be affixed to the car in some fashion.
  3. Should have gone for a fourth, you may have sneaked the best 350 coupe award then Dont worry Mark, Ill bring it to Japfest and you can touch it again.
  4. A genuine mistake made three times in one post? Any way - bak to topic. You will never be able to resist the urge to mod the Z. many say they will be keeping it standard, but slowly and surely they are assymilated into the modding machine.... There is no escape Im afraid

    Oops, fixed the double post.
  6. Depends on the viewpoint. The planned increases in national insurance from Labour and Lib Dem will directly afect the number of new jobs I create. This will be replicated by thousands of businesses across the land. The country needs jobs to be created to get us out of this, and imho the NI increases will hamper this. Things may not get better overall, but the policies of tax and spend have got us nowhere. Spending our way out of this mess simply will not work, not when our debt is so high already. The harsh truth is that the ridiculous levels of spending have now got to be reigned in. This has to be coupled with the relaxing of taxes in some areas to allow job growth and more cash in peoples pockets who can then spend it themselves to get the economy moving again. Raise taxes and keep spending like we are and people shut down. They save (even though interest rates dont give them anything in return) - they put off any luxuries and they keep the cash to themselves, or pay extra off their mortgadges while the rates are low.
  7. Another worry about all this is that if we get a change to the voting system (either by referendum or a vote in parliament) then we will have this exact same situation every time. With no one party getting more than 50% of the votes, then we will just see the third placed patry whoring themselves around the other two to come up with a government. If we have proportional representation then heres a gem... BNP got 2% of the votes. Out of 650 this gives them 13 seats. Is this really the way we want it?
  8. Its a funny old situation. There is no way that Clegg would want to be part of lib-lab if Gordon were at the helm. The two losing parties getting together with a couple of other small parties to form a group headed up by Brown for another term. It would never sit with the voters. The damage done to clegg and the lib dems if that happened would be incredible. Though with Brown gone, the lib-lab coalition would result in a newly elected labour leader (Miliband?) becoming PM with a party that lost! I doubt that would be good either. A lib lab party would also need the help of other parties to have an overall majority, which would make it incredibly unstable - a new election would be required before the end of the year. That certainly doesnt give enough time for a referendum on the voting system, so we could just end up with a re-run of what we have now It will be interesting to see what happens.

Heres the pick of my photos
  10. The gold was not sold because we had to. In fact to date there is no explanation as to why he chose to sell it, although it was rumoured he sold it in an effort to prop up the new euro, and investing in assetts which were interest bearing. The rampant inflation and soaring gold prices were a thing of the past.... Announcing that the sale was going ahead (auctions actually instead of quiet releases into private sales) drove down the price of gold before he actually sold it! By announcing the sale, he was assured of getting the lowest price. Seriously, it is a supply and demand market of precious metal and he announces that there will be auctions of 395 tonnes of the stuff! What exactly did he think was going to happen to the price? That little gem actually cost us at least three times what Black Wednesday cost us. Its spilt milk though, so nothing can be done. He presided of the introduction of the 10p tax fiasco by the current chancellor, which any GCSE maths student and a calculator could have seen was not going to work - which then resulted in a jigging of the allowances and other tax rate thresholds (which caused every small business in the land a headache in changing tax codes and payments). The man was incompetent as chancellor and even less impressive as PM imho.
  11. The problem with the theory of evolution is the Missing Link remains, well, err missing. Find that and it may become close to proven.
  12. Id like these buddy Will be at Japfest too
  13. He inherited the job from Tony Blair... He did a slap up job of selling gold at an all time low - by the current gold rate, he cost the country £12 Billion. Yet he has the audacity to bang on about £6 billion in cuts that the Tories plan on being the wrst possible thing for the country. Short and selective memory Brown has..
  14. Although Im not in the least bit bothered about getting one, I too noticed that the price was inflated in the UK. If it had been around the same level as the US price I may have considered buying one just as a "nice to have" gadget, at the current price though I think you have to have a specific need in order to buy one.
  15. If the car is out of Nissan Warranty, then I think getting it done by Nissan FOC will be a bit of a struggle, if the Warranty covers up to £500, then this will certainl cover a repair of the clicky rear axle problem which can be done by a few of the traders noted in the trading section here. Will be worth contacting the Warranty company to see how you progress this though before you jump in and get any work done..

  17. Doesnt work like that... When transfering a number plate directly from one vehicle to another, the V5 documents will need to both be in the name of one person if you dont want to risk someone else doing a runner with your pottentially valuable plate. When you put a number plate on retention (ready to assign it to a new vehicle) the number plate is given a grantee (person who owns the rights to the number) and a nominee if they choose to name one (a person who can assign the number to their car). If you sell your car with your number plate still on it, and no retention or transfer in progress, then the new owner of the car becomes the owner of the number plate - and you will have lost all legal right to it. They can assign it back to you, but they could equally keep it themselves, stick two fingers up to you and sell it to whomever they want. If you absolutely dont want to rsk losing the plate - then the process is as this.... Take a completed 317 form (sections 2 and 4) to the DVLA with your V5 and current tax disc and MOT, and for £105 you retain the number. They give you a new tax disc, and stamp/sign your MOT with your new reg number (probably the one that was on the car before you put the private plate on it). They also send off your V5 to have the registration number ammended. You also get sent a certificate of retention (may take a few weeks to come through. During this time you will have no V5 for the car. It may take a couple of weeks or so to come through. That doesnt mean you cant sell it, it, they still give you the green slip to show you own the car. You put the car on its old (or whatever they give you) registration that day. You can now sell the car - if the buyer wants to wait until you get the new V5 through then it could be a couple of weeks. When your retention certificate comes through, you have 12 months to asign it to another vehicle. You will need to take that certificate and the V5 from your new car (with the V5 in your name which matches the grantee details in section 2 of the 317 you filled in) to the DVLA office, and a similar chain of events occurs. They will take the V5 off you and send it off to have your private plate added, they take your retention certificate and your existing tax disc and MOT off you, and give you a new tax disc with your private reg on it, sign/stamp your MOT with the private reg and you are told to get your private plates fitted asap. You then wait for the V5 to come back with your private reg on it. Its a bit long winded, but it ensures that you never risk losing your private plate. If you own both cars at the same time, then you can do the reg change before selling, and cut out the wait for the retention certificate. However you will need both cars V5's to be in your name when you do this, otherwise you are assigning the mark to a vehicle not in your name which risks you losing the mark and also risks being rejected as the previous owner may have already sent off the slip to change the car into your name. Just wait until bothe V5's are in your name and then do the reg change.. Hope that all hellps

We did have a couple of others join for various points throughout the weekend, but still fairly low numbers to be honest. Still, it was a great weekend, the BBQ's were impressive, the raffle, awards and meeting Ajay were all good fun. Nice to chat to a few new faces too as well as the regulars
  19. Whatever registration is shown on the v5 at the time of the sale belongs to the new owner. You must start the ball rolling on a registrtration retention before selling...
  20. The funny thing is, if they had th popular vote system right now, the conservatives wuld have won anyway! So, if the lib dems did band with labour and got the electoral system reformed, then the conservatives would legally challenge for a re-run of the election as they had the highest percentage of all votes, the election would be re-run, and if the same votes were cast, Cameron would be prime minister with a popular vote majority and Clegg would be out on his ear... Great plan I think Clegg realises which side his bread is buttered for now...
