  1. Thats an absolute joke price Makes me glad the fezza wheels are only £350 a corner!
  2. So whats the reason for sticking a Range Rover badge on it instead of a landrover badge? My guess is that Landrover buyers would expect a rugged off road performer that goes up a plowed field as well as it drives on the road. Range Rover buyers however will take it nowhere near even so much as a puddle, couldnt give a toss about its practicality and will buy it for the badge and looks. Now I'm hardly in a position to be criticising anyone for buying a badge, but lets not try and pretend this is going to set the world alight with its off road performance. Id be surprised if as many as 1% make it into a field (unless done the hard way by drivers taking the odd corner too quickly in their "sporty" Rangie). The Range Rover brand since te 70s has moved away from the luxury off road performer to now just an extension of a handbag/manbag with only a passing lip service to any off road ability, moreso in the last 10 years. The involvment of Victoria Beckham is, in my opinion, the confirmation of this now complete transition to fashion vehicle rather than anything that actually takes itself seriously in the 4x4 luxury market anymore.
  3. Its not a Range Rover. Its a CRV sized freelander with a Rangie badge stuck on so people will buy it There are lots more expensive cars out there that require only a small deposit to secure.
  4. I highly emotive and excellent post. My condolences to Corporal Kirkpatricks family and friends. The sacrifices that are made in the name of serving our country are incredible. They deserve all the recognition we can muster.
  5. It's not the organisers that put us with the zclub and 300zx chaps. It's our clubs all coming together with the zclub to get all the z's under one roof for the shows that the zclub attend. Any show that the zclub are attending that we are too, we will always add our numbers under the zclub banner to acheive the "all the cars one club" show for the day, even if we have seperate clubs u derneath the main zclub banners and flags. If the guys from NS want to be part of that, they will have to speak to the zclub. However, as NS is not just for z's then there may be difficulties with that, unless of course any gtr owners on NS are going to be excluded or given a seperate stand. Which then just breaks up their members which isn't fair to their club. Don't see what we can do about that
  6. FA not wanting to explain the £6m a year contract they would have to pay off if they sacked him more like....
  7. She does seem to have a reverse midas touch I think its because they have always been "fans" of the cars and have wanted to do something with JLR for a while - so someone decided to give her some sort of made up role in oredr to try and strengthen the marketing. Obviously having not seen any of her marketing before Same as you, having a car that is linked to Victoria Beckham will make it be seen as just a fashion accessory. Which will either make it sell in vast numbers or bomb badly. You would think that they would rather market a car for being a car instead of linking it to a celeb I wonder if the beckhams had an issue with the paintwork on a JLR car whether they would be subject to the same shite service as the common person... I'd guess not.
  8. In that case its size makes it nothing more than a big handbag (now the Victoria Beckham marketing falls into place). So its just going to be a wag shopping car then? Whats wrong with a good old Golf if thats the size of the thing? In fact, given its size, its obvious its bearing the Range Rover badge purely to shift it based on the reputation of its larger siblings and the image attached to them. Starting to seem a bit pointless now
  9. Bearing in mind I was told that JLR's largest market (up to 80%) is the US, then a lot of this practicality discussion will just waft over the heads of our American friends, who will lap it up in massive numbers due to its nice styling, and now greener image. Im guessing that the customer service and dealer network in the US are much better at their jobs than their UK counterparts. IMHO the US customers would stand for nothing more than a good quality ownership experience otherwise they would be getting slated. Although Im not the greatest advocate of copying American attitudes, perhaps the UK based customer facing section of JLR could learn a thing or two from the US on this occasion. The Q7 from Audi looks like a massive and very practical 4 x 4 vehicle, but in my opinion it plain sucks at that job and is nothing more than an expensive 7 seater taxi. The boot space is smaller than all its competitors, the seat folding is awkward and uneven, and the boot opening is smalle than a seat leon. Yet people still buy them. This would appear to have it beat on styling, certainly the green credentials and will be that bit smaller so will prise people out of the Q5 too (which is just stupidly overpriced). The actual practicality of it will probably be quite a way down on a buyers priority list.
  10. thats the baby That photo right there makes me instantly despise it. I really can't do with that useless, talantless, would be asking people if they want fries with that if she wasnt married to a footballer, pouting bint.
  11. JLR are certainly producing some nice looking cars, though I don't actually see any purpose for this besides being the usual x5, q7 etc etc Chelsea tractor, but that's besides the point, they have certainly upped their game in the design stakes. If only they put half as much effort into ensuring their dealer network and customer services provided an ownership experience to match it. That is seriously letting the side down at the moment IMHO. Once they have sorted that out they will be one of the "targets". Rather than JLR cars being compared to the german brands, it will be the other way round. They may have blown any repeat business prospects from myself and my family, but there is probably still time for everyone else. Just start kicking some of the pi55 poor dealers up the backside or removing their license to sell JLR cars alltogether. They could do worse than to start with what is in my opinion the shower of sh*te that is hatfields in Sheffield.
  12. Ask a detailer their opinion and get a quote for them to professionally remove the tar spots. This quote with lots of photo evidence should convince the council to pay up. They can soon find the owner of a car if they dont pay a parking ticket in council enforced parking areas, so they could just as easily have found the owner of a car in order to move it to do their job. In fact they should have warned people on the road of the work well in advance in order to prevent this very situation.
  13. Ahh but he hasnt got the one extra that makes the biggest difference.... - an account on here and all the fun and useful info that comes from it.
  14. We offer free tickets to shows at our stands, yet people still choose to pay and go with another club. What possible reason would there be to pay and attend instead of coming to the same show for free with another club. If you want to find people keeping any supposed "rivalry" going; start looking a lot closer to home. We have sent various messages to one of your committee trying to come to some sort of arrangement on cross posting links etc etc. Clearly the other club doesnt want us pinching members and I assume vice versa. These message have been ignored, so again, try looking closer to home. Our club does not charge a membershhip fee. We are supported by donations and traders fees. Whatever money we get in, we give out again in the form of free tickets, and subsidising merchandise set up costs, food and beer for the likes of Zedfest and the hoon, etc etc. If we just allow people to trade for free then we loose our revenue stream and ultimately have nothing to fund the club with. It would be similar to saying to the Nissansporz "how about we get access for free to the members area"... If you dont want to be a part time trader, dont trade, simple. We do joint stands as you say with the Z club. Did you join us at Japfest? No. We offer free tickets to the shows we attend, yet nobody from **REMOVED** bothers to take us up on the offer - what more do you want, would you like paying to come along? All a 350 or 370z owner has to to to join us at a show is be a signed up member on here and type their name on a list and show up. Exactly what is hard about that? Ive been the subject of derogatory comments by many members of NS over the years. What I dont do is jump on the NS website every five minutes making snide comments, if I did, I'd expect a warning and a ban, again. I think it incredibly rich to be lambasted for not building bridges, when we offer free tickets to shows to anyone here who has a zed and a user account, and we will ALWAYS attend shows with the ZClub to ensure we get all the Z's under one banner. Weve tried making progress on joint meets with the GTROC too, and although not that much has come of it so far, we're still wanting to get increased numbers for these. Oh and how could I forget about Wales - organised by this club and we've had many people from **REMOVED**, Japcar club and others join in on that - so exactly how are we not getting all the cars together? So you remove your helpful post to others out of spite for not getting the two clubs together at shows. What a very grown up attitude. Oh and yes. Thread locked.
  15. Sorry, can't go to this, as I'm at the grand prix that day. Anyone local to me able to pick up the flags (and event shelter if needed)??
  16. Dyson animal with the stair attachment works well in cars Feel free to have a look on Thrsday buddy
  17. Apparently David Blane is furious that his record of doing f*ck all in a box for 40 days has been beaten by Wayne Rooney.
  18. Very nice and welcome to the club Phil
  19. I recently insured a car using First point insurance brokers. They set up the policy and emailed the certificate to the dealers and myself within an hour. I have no idea how they compare on price for the 370z though. They got fairly close to the price I was quoted for my car from the likes of direct line etc, but with the added assurance that if any repairs are needed they are only done by a manufacturer approved repairer, rather than the standard Direct Line approved bodyshop etc.
  20. Is it not an i10 rather than L10? I was lucky enough to have the the i30 when the Jag was in. Whats the i30 like compared to the i10 I hear you ask....? Well, I'll tell you. Its just a bigger turd thats all. Same turd quality just bigger.
  21. Nope. You can move some messages to the saved folder if you wish to keep them. But expanding the pm box is not possible. We have set it at 300 as this gives everyone more than enough room. If they need to actually keep more than 600 messages (saved folder and inbox combined) then I would suggest using something other than the forum message centre for organising stuff.
  22. Im also going to be stopping over at the premier inn at Thurrock West if anyone fancies a beer
  23. Tickets now received. All attendees have been sent a PM requesting some details for the stand passes. This is so I can complete these beforehand and save you having to do it on the day. It also makes handing out the tickets and passes a much smoother process. One left to confirm. If not confirmed by the end of today then the ticket will be sold to the first on the +1 reserve list.
  24. UPDATE: ENGLANDS NEXT WORLD CUP MATCH IS ON THE DAY OF THIS SHOW. 25. Its all dependant on what constitutes a "standard" garage. Modern built houses are almost always provided with single integral garages that you cant fit a car in, at least not if you want to get out afterward. If its a slightly older house, then the space may be larger - but beware the room needed to open the Zeds doors, which are quite large.
