  1. As of right now, there are brief times when you can get back in under 20 again. As far as I can make out, and take this as my own personal opinion only, the net asset value of what they just acquired more than covers the expense. Thats without factoring in the possible upsides on other projects.
  2. The slowdowns are starting around the peak period time unfortunately, and some of this is down to either mass visitor volume or more likely the way google reads our content. Its not the first time weve had to start putting up restrictions for google either. We have restricted google from various sections of the site, and will probably need to review this further. It would appear that Google is now infatuated with our site, (and why shouldnt it be?), so much so that their lovely robot is using just shy of 15GB of bandwidth all by itself per month. This is actually 15% of the total of the sites data served up which stands at just over 100GB a month, so is fairly ridiculous for a search engine imho and its six times the level of the next bot. However this does mean we rank pretty highly on google searches for the 350z I suppose More work will be undertaken to prevent the googlebot from getting carried away, as when it does trawl the site, it seems to hammer thousands of links at the same time, which is usually the reason for the slowdowns from time to time. Hopefully we will be able to get this resolved soon and google will be a little more caring with our site To get an idea of the overal site traffic, the monthly "hits" as recorded by the server run at around 11 Million. However as show season is now upon us and people are able to get out more with the cars rather than stay indoors and talk about them, its dropped off to about 10 million last month, and looks to be heading for the same or slightly lower this month. Though this is individual items served up to visitors, Google itself records individual page views at just under 1 million per month.
  3. Heres an interesting analysis of the RNS quoted from iii. It would seem that the placing at 17p being much lower than the share price when the news hit is whats caused the knee jerk to this in the short term - but read the below when considering medium to long term.
  4. The placing was over subscribed, which means institution investors could see this as a very good opportunity. I know it would have been breaking my promise to myself to only put a certain ammount of money into the share market, but I wish Id topped up another few k at least at 19p. The sell is now back to 21 already. Thats a 10% gain between home and the 10 minute drive to the office.
  5. I got some more yesterday at just under 23p. Im not bothered about the drop to 20p. Im down about £400 on that bunch, but hey ho. The retrace will be due to how very complex the RNS is for many, and the market makers shifting this closer to the placing price of 17p that the II's got. Then when it sinks in that 100% of TT is under RRL, as well as the other bits of positive news that have been included (but largely overlooked) like upgrade on Texas output for example, it will soon recover. If I hadnt reached the maximum level of cash I wanted to put in the shares market out of my assets Id be getting some more at the 20p level if I could. I dont see it flying up overnight, but long term, this has got a faior way to go now. All imho of course.
  6. Its ticking up now. Back to level, if not a tick upward. Im hoping THR get some better results from the next round of sampling, and maybe there will be a bit more interest as this draws closer. Ore could yet pull some surprises out of the bag and given the low at the moment, it seems a decent time to perhaps put some more on the punt there, SOU seems to be stalling at present and has actually fallen back some way, but given the sensible postings from Captain Nelson Forties, Im still going to hold what I have there and see what happens longer term.
  7. The chap to contact is Adam at supercardriver.com There are so many worthy causes, Im sure you could run one of these every day of the year and still not get round them all, but Im sure Adam may be receptive to suggestions for the next one, though I doubt it will be as regular as a monthly occurance. Maybe annual I dont know.
  8. RRL is offsetting my losses at present, and some. Had THR, SOU, ORE and RMP. Im still uncertain as to how the news will affect RMP. Im hoping that it may be a 100% of Trinidad but with 10% or so farmed out to RMP - that could prove a nice bit of news. Though I would expect RMP to have been put on hold too if that were the case.
  9. I have to admit, the Reventon was the one for me, just for how completely bonkers that thing looks and sounds.
  10. Came on to post that myself too Today may get very exciting for anyone with RRL. Its a damned shame Ive got so much to do at work, as Id love to watch the investments boards and share price ticker all day
  11. Oooooo - Ill bet the pikeys that have no insurance made every effort to ensure that they made the DVLA aware of their correct address. Those without insurance will probably not have the vehicle registered correctly either, so it will make chuff all difference for the most part, just catch out the mainly law abiding folk who just forget.
  12. Ive put this in off topic but will link from Other Cars too, as its a bit of both. Its taken me a while to get round to posting these, but as yesterday I attended the "handover" part of this event I thought it appropriate to write this up now. A couple of weeks ago I attended what was called the "Secret Supercar Meet" arranged by Adam from Supercardriver.com. The meet was organised by Adam and donations were taken from those whom attended for the Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice in Sheffield. The aim was to get 100+ supercars together for owners to share their experiences and chat about all aspects of ownership etc. A general social get together with the benefits of being able to see some incredibly rare cars, and raise money for a worthy cause. We raised £2,160 for the hospice on the day which was fantastic. When I say rare cars, I do mean very rare. The only Bugatti Veyron Supersport in the UK (1 of 5 in the world), and the only Reventon Spider in the UK (1 of 15 in the world). Along with items such as Mercedes SLS, Miura, F40, F50, Carrera GT, Enzo, Masserati GT's, and a whole host of other very rare and exotic cars. We all grouped together at Donnington Park, and due to there being spectators and competitors for what looked like a racing weekend that date, there were enough people to blow the cover off this "secret" meet alltogether. By the time we came to take all the cars to Graypaul in Nottingham, and around 100 supercars left to go through the city centre to their dealership people were already aware something was afoot. Anyone who has been on the Wales run and witnessed the publics reaction to a large number of sports cars travelling in convoy through a town will have some idea of the reaction we got as the procession made its way through Nottingham. Im glad to say that 350z-uk.com still remains unbeaten in having someone walk into a lamp post while ogling the cars, but the sight of these cars in convoy certainly raised some eyebrows. Here are a few pictures of just a few of the cars attending that day, including some very rare items indeed. Write up of the meet at the hospice after these first pics: Yesterday (Sunday) - a group of about 20 of us took our cars over to the Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice in Sheffield for the children there to come and have a look round the cars, sit in them and chat about the cars. There were no public photos of this as they have very strict rules about photos while the children are present, but there was the official photographer for the hospice and one for the local newspaper present, so hopefully there will be some pictures to see of this eventually. The club managed to raise £2,160 for the hospice from this meet, and the pleasure of seeing Adam hand over the cheque was only suprassed by the smiles on these childrens faces as they got their hands on cars that for many appear on posters or games that they play. They got to rev engines, sound horns and generally have a brilliant time with the cars. For those that dont know, this hospice cares for children and young adults who have shotened life expectancies. It is incredibly emotional seeing the smiles on faces of children (and their parents) who were there, some of which very sadly may not be with us if we did it again next year. A very humbling day indeed and one I feel proud to have been invited along to. I know my pics arent the greatest quality - I left the camera on the wrong setting which I found out after the event, but still hopefully they are good enough. Here are a few videos of the cars at the initial meet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRWkIri7xcA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yO0fPbC8HnA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slpNAW2kq5s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yH8Z9xVxwZg And for those who wish to read about the charity where the £2,160 was donated, please visit them here: http://www.bluebellwood.org/
  13. Just learnt that a neighbour near me has a pristine E-type in the garage. Its just in bits after being taken apart and refurbing every piece
  14. Hence me saying u dicks are extremely helpful. Not only is the z a slow ass price of crap it seems the experts on the forums are dicks too. Deffo recommend buying a z to anyone, if ur a Knob! Yep sometimes we all make mistakes, we get something we think may be good, and then quickly realise that perhaps its not exactly what we wanted afterall. So in hindsight maybe we should never have had it. In this case that "something" for me was your membership here. Goodbye.
  15. Id take that with a pinch of salt, theres one poster on one of the boards (checked, its iii) called bricktycoon - look at his posts for SOU. News tomorrow, this will fly, buy buy buy - a subtle as a brick ramper. This buying frenzy could well have been sparked by the large buys, or just a snowballing of sheep buyers. I hope Range doesnt turn into a pump and dump. Buy on rumour, sell on fact.
  16. Something looks afoot with RRL at present, some big trades going through. ORE keeps bubling up and down, so have taken the opportunity to trade a section of my holding there tried to get in at 0.98 again this morning but it never dropped quite that low. It seems to have swings every now and then, so opportunity to make a bit of beer money by trading them every now and then. SOU is also just treading water at present, apart from a brief spike a few days ago, top sliced and will get back in shortly, but I put that top slice into RRL and its hovered until today, so waiting to get that slice back out and put it back into SOU at some point. Missed the spike on THR, so hopefully they may climb steadily back to my buy in point and I may just bin it then and spread it across others. Im hoping any news or rising of RRL will also spread to RMP if the news is surrounding the projects that they are in together.
  17. Talk about missing boats. I stood on the quayside and watched as a few passed me yesterday. I saw a tip on SOLO yesterday, by the time I took a look, it had already jumped about 50% (0.5 to 0.75) so I thought to myself - oh well another boat missed. By close it had gone to over 100% up in the day and over 1p. So I could have jumped in when I first saw it anyway and still made 30%+. Deffinitely missed the boat. Today its now around 1.4p. So I could still have doubled my money had I jumped on the second boat Oh well. Come on Range! And on another note, come on RMP!
  18. Didnt get out at lunch, and its gone too dark for a wander up the street now, so will probably be lying awake at midnight wondering what the hell they are. They arent for speed sensors as they are permanent fixtures. If I cant sleep thinking about them in the morning Ill have a wander up the road and take a picture. It will probably be something very simple and obvious, but Ive never seen cabinets like them before. Very strange.
  19. Thats what I thought, the location of them just doesnt seem to fit with speed cameras at all. The police often do speed checks within the 30 zone near our house, and actually stand on the corner opposite our drive which, if I were the devious cunning individual that positions cameras to catch people, is the best location for them. Not where these boxes are. Where these boxes are would make no sense for speed cameras, especially the ones in the 50 zone, as you can see them from miles away and would never catch anything. They dont seem to have finished the project either, given where the roadsigns are to warn of works taking place, Id estimate there may be about 6 or 7 of these boxes going in in total, way too many for cameras. Not in my wildest dreams will it be BT Infinity or Virgin fibre being rolled out, as that wouldnt involve the council putting the boxes in. Its bugging me now not knowing. I think Im going to pop home at lunch time and ask - the tension is too much!
  20. I havent got a photo, but the council have been installing some new roadside cabinets recently, and the curiosity is starting to bug me now. I think Ill just pop an ask if I get the chance, but Ive scoured the councils website, highways agencey website etc and cant find any details of what they may be. They are columns, about 8 inch square and stand about 2 feet tall. Some sort of stainless/silver colour. There are a bout 3 or 4 of them along a half mile or so stretch of road, three on one side, one on another. Very strange. There havent been any Central Networks/Transco/BT vans around, just the highways workmen and vehicles. They are already in an area that has street lighting, so Ive ruled out temporary covers for new lamp posts. They are not in areas I would expect speed cameras given the number of them and the positioning of three within a few hundred yards on the same side of the road. Anyone got any ideas?
  21. Ore retraced as I expected, may top up on that punt, or go back to my previous holding before slicing if that gets back below 1p. I was too late to sell on the spike of THR when the RNS came out, so waiting for a slow climb back to a decent exit point and Ill shift that over to something else, either XEL or more in SOU. SOU has started shifting north, but looking at the sensible posts by captain nelson, the fair price is still around double the existing price even after the recent rises. Im waiting on news from PL too. Im hoping that it involves puntland as my not so insignificant punt on RMP would then possibly fly too
  22. No - they should crack down on evaders, not avoiders. There is a difference. Im not griping about those worse off. Ive stated above those that don't pay but should, should indeed be made to do so. Im griping about those who take money out that shouldn't. I've personally shopped a few benefit cheats in the past that I know for a FACT are defrauding the system. The questions the people who you phone to report ask are just daft. I was phoning to report someone for claiming several allowances which they were not entitled to due to the value of their savings, yet I was being asked what colour their eyes were, what time they left the house etc etc.. All they needed to do was get a warrant, look at their bank account and job was done, but no, far too difficult. Guess what happened in every case I reported? Naff all. They have carried on claiming those benefits for the last 7 years and still do to this day. So as per above and coming back round to topic, its much easier to stick massive ammounts of tax on fuel than it is to tackle the more difficult issues of making sure the money that is spent, is spent well.
