Looks like you got a good result from the other dealer. Who was the dealer that gave you the good service? Others may like to know.

Got to be second hand on a Gallardo - unless of course you want to suffer the £30k depreciation in the first 12 months just for the hell of it Mind you - buying something like that is one thing - keeping it on the road and the regular servicing is quite another. The evo Murcielago test car covered 20k in 12 months and costs were £3k servicing, £3k tyres, £2.5k clutch, Oil changes £450, Brake pads £600, and then theres the fuel for such a beast at about £8k for the 20k miles. Thats running costs of over 17k for that car in the year, then of course theres the insurance, which would undoubtedly be another four figure sum.

Not wrong at all - My other half cried when we sold a Fiat Tipo runabout that we had for a year - bought it for £300 from the auctions, sold it for £350 a year or so later, and it went through 2 MOTs without a hickup.

NW Drive Out - Spring 2007 - 15th April
Chesterfield replied to Digsy's topic in Meets, Shows and Events
Normally depends on what order we leave the services car park in! So it will get mixed up a bit - Jacko will be leading the way though. If any attendees want to PM me their mobile number for addition to the list that will be distributed, please do so - I can then put the list together prior to the event. -
NW Drive Out - Spring 2007 - 15th April

Ill do my best to answer the points. Yes we travel in one long convoy - Non Zeds at the rear where possible I think, so as to not spoil the "effect". There is absolutely NO racing. We are on public roads, and we have to respect the villages and comunities that we will be driving through - also, some drivers are not as confident as others, so may be disturbed by others agressively overtaking etc. Therefore although on some stretches of road the driving may become "spirited", there should be NO racing, and no acting like clowns. Afterall we dont want to see any accidents, and we dont want to tar our community with the "boy racer" brush. If people get stuck at traffic lights, and with 30 cars in convoy it is guaranteed to happen, the best solution is for the second or third to last car to make a mental not of who is the last car, and at juntions/lights etc make sure that last car is with the group, if not, hold back and allow them to catch up before rejoining the rest of the convoy. It sounds very regimental, but on the day it should be easy enough for the whole group to stay together. I say "should" as this is the first time we will have had this many cars in convoy. On the day, we should be able to provide a map of the route, with the stops marked on. Also, we have previously handed out a sheet to every driver with a list of mobile phone numbers for various attendees, so should the worst happen and you get split up from the group, you can contact a member for help. The stops, from what I remember are capable of holding the number of cars we are bringing, however, we are likely to cause some traffic congestion so be careful how/where you park your car at the various photo opportunities. Im sure Jacko (the pilot of our train) will select appropriate roads where we can park for photos and leave enough room for passing traffic in both directions. The car park at the lake is fairly large, but can get busy - with 30 cars, we may struggle at that point - however it is possible to double park, as long as we double park in front of other attendees and not members of the general public. The number one rule is for us to have fun, as long as we do that while being considerate to the other motorists, and the communities we will be driving through, then iot should be an excellent day out. -
All this work and it still wont get as much attention as a Yellow one ! Just kidding Val, looks good.

If the council got decent value for money and quality workmanship then the problem would not have existed in the first place. The reason council taxes increase is because year after year the companies that are subcontracted by the councils realise they can get away with blue murder as regards charges for council work. Four men to dig a hole with one shovel sound familiar. - Thats what I passed on my way to work today. one guy with a pnuematic drill, and three others stood watching - to replace one manhole cover. Brilliant!

05 350z GT Roadster - 6000 miles - 20.5K ono - SOLD
Chesterfield replied to expireddata's topic in Zeds For Sale
Price seems good at £22k too - with that mileage, you'll see them at £22,995 at the dealers. If it helps you haggle, I've PM'd you the trade in figure I was given for the exact same car with 9k on the clock just last week by a Nissan Dealer. -
Thats a good sign - some time ago when my car was nicked (crappy old ford escort at the time) the police couldnt be bothered to print it. As it sounds like this is some sort of gang/group nicking to order, they are probably more interested. Hopefuly there is no damage, and your mate gets the car back soon. We can but hope the scum that nicked it are being asked to pick up the soap by some 7ft gorilla nicknamed "horse" in the near future.

05 350z GT Roadster - 6000 miles - 20.5K ono - SOLD
Chesterfield replied to expireddata's topic in Zeds For Sale
The rule is 15 posts to sell, UNLESS the sale is a specifically 350Z related item - in this case its a 350Z car which may be of interest to the community - hence the advert is allowed. It looks like a cracking example - seeing it with the top down on a sunny day really makes me question whether we did the right thing. (we recently swapped our Azure GT Roadster for a Yellow Coupe). I think we will miss top down motoring in the summer, and the Z really did put a smile on my face driving in the summer sun. Right, cant look at that picture any more. I want to win the lottery so I can have one of each! grrrr.... -
Cant wait for the summer driving in the Z!
-
Bloody ell how did I miss that! I want one of these too - Grrrr.......

Added for you Dave. -
Given your location - you absolutley did the right thing.

My fingers are chubbier than mattesons pork sausages, and Ive installed and removed these twice now on two Zeds, 10 minute job tops. The trick is to have a long thin screw driver to hand, as you can use this to support the socket while adjusting your fingers to get a better grip on the bulbs/socket. A pencil will do the job if you cant find a suitable screwdriver. If anyone is having difficulty bring them along to the Wales meet and Ill do them for you no problem.
-
Unfortunately some dealers will have less experience with the Z than others - its just the way it is. If it is just an O2 sensor, they may well have the item in stock, they are a common part across a number of engines, and it wouldnt surprise me if it werent the same O2 sensor in almost every Nissan petrol engine. You could ring up another dealer if there is one locally and see what they have to say? Its not really Nissans fault, but more the dealers for having little experience of the car, but hen again, as they say it is rare. Suppose its just one of the joys of owning a rare (ish) car. I thinkits only fair that they should be able to sort you out with a courtesy car though if they are having it for the day or more.

Dont think you could ever make an UY chav could you? That would just be a contradiction in terms. Nismo Yellow has been done.. Time's they're a changing. -
Set it to 1 mile then. At least you are back and able to join us though!
-
Which is why you need the tomtom with the mobile locations already pre programmed - could have told you about the camera half a mile before you reached it.

Neil, Vals skirts are made by speedracing and Italian company, there are a few owners with speedracing parts fitted. I myself have the speedracing rear sat in my dining room The front lip that matches the rest of the kit can get a little low though.
