  2. Well hello @Sarnie how's life treating you ? Nice to see your in the McLaren world. Would love one of these but I ended up buying a few 380rs. I must have owned about 30 zeds by this point lol Some got broken for parts as the rust got too bad on them. Think I have 6 just now 😲
  3. Sorry I binned them the other week
  4. As forums go it's a bit of a ghost town but there are a few lurking and I've found everyone friendly. Post up some photos of the project. I'm extending my garage from a double to a triple so that I have room for a rusty shell restoration project alongside my 370z project. Not quite sure what yet but always interested in seeing what people such as youself are rebuilding.
  5. Definitely could be a sparks/coil issue but not had any EML crop up since I've had the car, will try and do some of the resets when I get home later. I'm fairly sure it could be more of an engine map issue as the car idles normally and has no issues with any misfires at any other rpm's. Will have a chat with my mechanic and see what he suggests. Is it the throttle position reset and throttle body resets or is there anything else you'd suggest doing, I know there's a way to reset the ecu but leaving it unplugged but not sure if that would help.
  6. Hi All, Just to introduce myself as i'm new to this forum. Although i live in SE London I bought my 350 on e bay from the Isle of White where it had lain as an abandoned project for a few years. It's a Sunset / Orange leather Manual UK GT. When it arrived it looked as it did in the e bay pics, truly awful, but in actual fact once it had been mopped a good few times it started to look quite good aside from the rear foot of rotten sills, which in my mind was balanced by really good arches with all spot welds still visible and rust free. Dived into this with my old mate Graham who is a true welding Star, and followed his old adage keep cutting until you hit solid steel then weld your way back out ..... then stripped all the old underseal off with a blowtorch ......& folllowing healing time for all the burns, then re coated with etch primer& Gravitex Grey, added the obigatory new Kidney's W Brace and front brace, threw in G Teck subframe collars, and numerous other parts, stirred thoroughly and finally 11 months on from buying it arrived at a new MOT, only for the engine to let go with a wonderful rendition of " Knock Knock Knockin of heavens door " on the way back from the MOT. Now awaiting arrival of a rev up Convertible ( again e bay ) which should be here tomorrow from Darkest Cornwall which is to be my engine donor. Guess all the above is a familiar tale to many of you who've trodden this path of automotive torture so it just remains for me to say " Hello" and hope this forum turns out to be as entertaining and hellpful as the good old E30 Zone was back in the day. Ian

  8. £30k gets you a decent C63 AMG or RS4
  9. I doubt this will sell very soon. You can get so much more of a car for the same amount, lots of nice BMW available in that budget range and you can throw £10k-£15k at it to make it 800-1000bhp...

  11. Don't know anything about investing in goldmines 🤣I think he moved to Dubai to sell property
  12. The bonnets lighter so you need to push it down a little while pulling the catch to open, imo there's 3 points of contact up front so I feel pretty confident in it not lifting, but others probably have different opinions Install is definitely a two person job but its straightforward otherwise something to think about is how you intend on doing the window washers as I don't have any atm
  13. I'm close to pushing the button on a carbon bonnet, how do you find the OEM catch? Any issues? Do you think it needs bonnet pins? Interested in your experience Looking good btw
  14. OK thanks - have looked briefly and as you say could be a long wait!
  15. Hi mate a guy called Keith D has recently replaced his disks and pads he might still have the old disks, worth a try
  16. Bonnet upgrade, the seibon bonnet on the car being painted really bothered me and since I didn't feel like stripping the paint off and seeing what was underneath I ordered a very aggressive and imo better style of vented bonnet. I picked this one not only because I liked the way it looked but also that the louvers on it and the placement make sense aerodynamically to pull more hot air out of the engine bay and hopefully pull cold air through the rad and coolers. Theoretically (because there's no wind tunnel testing for this bonnet) the louvered design will create a low pressure zone over the vents resulting in the air being pulled out of the engine bay as well as creating a little bit of downforce. What steered me away from the ams and seibon styles was that the vent placement made no sense for cooling. Overall, install was pretty straightforward with the help of Ballistic, fitment was genuinely really good for a carbon part, the only problem was one of the latch threads was damaged when installing but a quick tap and its on
  17. So for me it happened at around half a tank so I'd guess around there - on public roads I've never found that limit even on spirited drives. Tracks are much higher Gs I guess, Z1 Motorsports makes a kit which I'll do later down the line, if I'm still committed to tracking the car by the time its in the budget ;(
  18. You can probably find everything you need on Amayama but it's a long wait

  20. Was Captain the guy that had us all investing in goldmines that turned into **** all??
  21. No idea, not spoken to Pimm in years and Captain went off to live in Dubai. I did see Choptop at an Italian car show a few years back but not seen or heard from him since either
  22. Has anyone got a set of scrap 370Z akebono disks that are fit for the bin? I need a pair of front disks to mock up my new calipers and don't want to buy my 2-piece disks yet
  23. My system is leaking pretty badly from the hoses or pipes. Pump seems OK and have tried some stop leak fluid but the leak is getting worse. I think I need to replace the whole pipe/hose assembly but cannot seem to find an after market provider cost of one from Nissan is crazy! Anyone had a similar issue?
