Kraziekatz1 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Just bought a Sonos play:5 for the living room and a play:1 for the kitchen. Connected all up to the Sonos app on the iPad. Must admit, pretty impressed so far. Only one problem, seem to have a couple of tracks that are DRM (pre 2009 copyright protected by iTunes). They won't play on non-apple devices. I've read you can get around this by subscribing to iMatch, but anyone know any other way? Or is iMatch worth the £22? Quote
Ekona Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Odd, I don't have that issue with any of my stuff: Once iTunes went DRM-free, I've not had any troubles at all. Got an example of the tracks in question? 1 Quote
Kraziekatz1 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Ha, you will laugh at me.....but Rhianna 'Umberella' and 28 Days Later film soundtrack are 2 I've found so far. Think I bought them before 2009 when Apple changed copyright rules. Quote
Kraziekatz1 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Yeah, just checked....it is only affecting music I downloaded before the copyright was removed. So, presumably I need to do some sort of conversion? Only affects about 20 tracks. Ekona, do you have iMatch? Is it worth it? I guess it saves on storage space? Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Get Spotify, link with Sonos, done Love my Sonos! Quote

The tracks you downloaded, you got them from iTunes? Are they in 256? Tbh, if it's only 20 tracks and they're relatively common ones, I'd either suck it up and buy them again on iTunes or just yarr them from your favourite torrent site. 2 Quote
Neilp Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I would head straight over to Spotify to be honest. Love my Spotify premium Quote
Kraziekatz1 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Not used Spotify, is it like Deezer? Quote
TomS Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Spotify + Sonos is the way forward! £10/month for all your non-Taylor Swift musical needs Quote
TomS Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Don't worry Ekona, you can use TIDAL for all those needs. What a joke that's going to be, ripping off Spotify's UI, good ploy by Jay-z et al. Quote
Ekona Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I tried Tidal back in January, before they were bought out. Yes, you could tell the difference in quality, but the library was so limited it was pointless. They even advertised stuff that they didn't have any rights to, just to make it look better. Quote
Kraziekatz1 Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Hmmm....anything that doesn't have Taylor Swift sounds like a winner Might give it a go, cheers guys! Quote
