Most foams* are designed to remove and soften as much of the dirt from the surface as possible before any contact is made with the wash mitt/pad/media of choice. The idea being that the less dirt on the car during the contact wash, the less risk there is of inflicting marring. *Some foams are only designed to look pretty, because that's the important part according to some. To be fair that's how I view this gadget is more about how it looks that any benifit gained. However my daughter wants to spend the ££,s to get one so I guess she'll have to learn in the school of hard knocks. Thanks for yours and everyone's input. Quote
