Sy1441 Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Car is due an MOT in the next couple of weeks, I know it needs new tyres so have ordered these up but suspect it might be in need of new pads also. It doesn't get driven hard and is unmodified, any advice on decent pads to go for? Sy Quote

Sy, have you had any problems with the standard Nissan pads to warrant an upgrade? 1 Quote
Sy1441 Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 Current brakes work perfectly for me, pads might not actually need replaced, had left the locking wheel nut remover in the house at the last service so they weren't checked (that was 4k ago) so thinking they could possibly need changed) and with it going in for an MOT next week I wanted to be ahead of the game and not end up with some overpriced tat on there from the garage. Mines a road car too, even use it for commuting so just replaced with OEM pads which are absolutely fine, and much cheaper too My car had just under 30k on the clock and they were worn about 75%. I'm not sure i'd trust myself to change some brake pads although would imagine it must be one of the easiest mechanical jobs going. I did manage to plumb in a reverse camera! Quote
ross27 Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 One of my fronts was squealing, so i took it out and copper greased the back of it. At 40k miles, i was surprised to see plently life left in them. As said, it is a very very easy job on these cars! Quote

And after countless Wales drives that, er, mean they are well bedded in But I have noticed that the braking is sharper with Hel lines and Motul 660 fluid, following positive feedback on here from others 1 Quote

These are ferro-carbon rather than ceramic and have great feel at the pedal. 1 Quote
