light flashing on hard excelaration

When out tonight I noticed a red light Flicker on and of on hard excelaration

 

When I got home I've looked and it's the light that I persume is for the roadster when lowering the roof but I'm in a coupe

 

Anyone shed any light on this no pun intended

Firstly where was the light?

 

If it was at the bottom of the Rev counter then it's the shift light ~ like below.

 

 

Lights up at the optimum moment to indicate you should change gear. Also can be set for different rpm levels to indicate when you want to shift gear.

On the 370z to the left of the cluster there is the computer with fuel gauge water temp etc then on the screen mpg around the cluster on start up it displays all symbol that go out once started

 

Is the symbol that shows the roof coming off the car

It's just above the e on the fuel gauge the book says it's the soft top light lol

Interesting. I had a number of lights flash up under hard acceleration on the 370. For me it was the hand brake light while in Europe. Then the esp off light then the slipper road indicator.

 

When I did some googling I found it's common for these lights to flash up under hard acceleration when you brake pads are getting low as the brake fluid travels more because of the pads so the ecu triggers the lights. I was expecting that after my last service. Pads replaced and no more lights.

Also had exactly this on mine ... once brakes were changed I never had it come back !

I get this sometimes, is it a blue flashing light in the rear view mirror ?

Great thread guys. This has just put my mind at rest. I have my ESP off lights come on and handbrake warning under hard acceleration. So, it's iff to buy some new pads

I had my pads and fluid done with mitz and sorted the problem

however pads still had a bit of life on them Andy said could of just been fluid low etc

 

Nice strong pull up now tho
