twobears Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 What sort of car, if any, has a sort of princess crown badge? One drove past me when I was out today and I wasn't sure if it was an 'optional extra' or the actual car badge. It was on the front grille. Yours, Puzzled of Weybridge Quote

Rock_Steady Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I think the princess was just a smidge worse than the Allegro.... (shudders) Ah, the beloved All Aggro Didn't they have Hydrolastic Suspension? i'm not sure but they did have a square steering wheel. You might've thought the wheels were square since the suspension was so bad. Quote
Ponsonby Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) Are you sure it wasn't one of these beauties:- Is this a 'separated at birth' photo?? Some of us old codgers actually had the pleasure of driving the Allegro and Princess - Van den Plas of course. Edited September 8, 2014 by Ponsonby Quote
ianphampton Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I had a Vanden Plas Ambassador as a company car and it was very comfortable, I really liked it! It was my very first company car, when I was still young and full of enthusiasm. One of my colleagues had an SDI Rover 3500 and it spent more time in the garage than on the road, but my Ambassador was fine - and yes, it had the hydrolastic suspension. Of course this was around 1984 or so. . . . . Now I'm just full of cynicism! Ah, well. 2 Quote
