Mr mav Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Got my gtr wheels back at last! Still having a nightmare selecting the correct tires, narrowed it down to 255 on the front and 285 at the rear but I'm still unclear as what profile to go for?? 30 or 35?? My Z is lowered 30mm aswell Quote
Ceejay29 Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) I ran a stretched 35 for quite a while; the sidewalls must have been closer to a 30 or less? Ditched it for a well fitting 35 tyre (wider) and the ride was so much smoother. Consequently I wouldn't run anything with a sidewall shallower than a 35. Another thing to consider is that the lower profile will bring your rim much closer to the road surface and those dreaded potholes. Your new refurbed wheels could take a bashing!! WhackyWill Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Great looking wheels. Look brilliant. Quote
GMballistic Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Very nice Mr mav. What tyre size front & rear did you end up going for in the end then? Quote
Mr mav Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 Thanks for the comments Went for 255.35.20 on the front and 285.35.20 at the rear, should have really got a set of 275 as it's rubbing ever so slightly Quote
The Seasider Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Speaking from recent experience of messing about with wheel/tyre sizes - isn't this set up going to cause havoc with the car's electronics? TC/ABS? Also, I'd change the rubbing tyres sooner rather than later - if they are relatively new, you will recover most of the cost on ebay. Quote
GIXXERUK Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 they look can you get the rear arches rolled ? Quote
pjf1985 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 WOW they look even better than I imagined Quote
Mr mav Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 they look can you get the rear arches rolled ? It's looking more likely that the arches will need a slight roll in the next couple of weeks Quote
