Car damage - Eye witness

Ok so some of you may have noticed that my car has been damaged recently by both incompetent driving/parking and immoral actions (lack of note). I was approached by a neighbour today who provided my with all the necessary details (as a witness) to who reversed into my car.

 

How do I approach this? It's not a local car but I have seen it around recently/potentially using child minding services. Do I wait to speak to them if and when I see them? Post the registration on a public social media site asking for details -andinformation or contact my insurance?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Insurance - giving them ALL details - if you have legal cover - that helps too

Just hand the details to your insurer.

Apologies accepted, LOL, Your doing it the correct way , the neighbour will probably need to put that in writing though.

If it were me, I'd do the above and also keep an eye out. If you see it around, have a quick look round it and photo any marks which may be Zed rubbs, just in case they do a repair when they're alerted by the authorities. Also could be useful for double confirming with your neighbour this is indeed the car. Then let the authorities take them down for being "An Inconsiderate Pri** In Charge Of A Motor Vehicle".
