14N Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Why so much trouble cleaning the cars, they will look filthy after each drive anyway. This is true. How do you find white for showing dirt/looking dirty? Black starts to show dirt almost instantly, grey/silver you can get away with a bit longer, but what about white (not that your car's ever dirty) Quote
ioneabee Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 and ....................... I'm done just got to wash it tomorrow to get rid of all the polishing dust and let it rain on it overnight....... Quote
ioneabee Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 had a white TT before this one white shows mud and less dust black shows more dust but less mud you pays your money and takes your choice 1 Quote
ioneabee Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I get to do a run across the mountains tomorrow - all paid for by the office I suspect it will need cleaning again when I get back Quote
The Bounty Bar Kid Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Contrary to my earlier post, like most, I did actually spend most of Saturday washing, claying and polishing my car myself. Now look at it! I think 'FFS' is appropriate in times like these 30seconds after I'd finished drying my zed after giving her a wash, but luckily before I'd started to detail her... A bird pooped all over my passenger front wing. Missing me and my girlfriend by about a foot. Quote
gsexr Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Today was my only chance of giving the car a detail before Wales, problem is I have a severe case of man flu and felt seriously rough but needs must the car had to be cleaned. Anyway some pictures of the finished article. The sticks of wood holding the wheels on Seats also got given some attention and have the cockpit a good clean. Just need to do a bit more cleaning and a vacuum and all ready for Wales Quote
ph 7 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I would kill for reflections like that! The orange peel in my azure is too pronounced for it. We need to develop a set of transparent wraps like F1 drivers have on their visors. Once a month we could just remove the top layer revealing a nice shiny car again. I know it is going to rain before (and during)Wales, but hopefully the hard work tonight means I'll only need quick detailer on the day. Quote
