GC350z Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 This is old news. Saw it months ago. If I was top brass in Porsche I'd be firing people for even considering such an ugly design. Quote
Chris`I Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Different is the nicest I can come up with +1 Quote
MAB Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 http://cars.uk.msn.com/news/car_news_article.aspx?cp-documentid=5764449 But ........... why oh why ? Quote
sinbad Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Your right it is old, they've been testing this for a while. I understand that they have to keep within Porsche's look but why is everything a bigger, smaller, or extended version of the 911??? Have abit of design flare for crying out loud! Quote
Ebized Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Porsche are losing the plot, bigtime. Did you see the link on that site though: http://cars.uk.msn.com/news/car_news_ar ... id=5736705 The Z still remains one of 20 least depreciating cars and as its one of the oldest designs in that group - not bad, eh? Didn't see a Lambo in that top 20 though Quote
Sarnie Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Didn't see a Lambo in that top 20 though Because its appreciating Quote
Sarnie Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 like pigs do this Sarnie Oh well it was worth a try Quote
martinmac Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Anyone seen the new £245k Porky supercar yet, I am told that its previeing but to tell you the truth I didnt pay much attention. I take it this is not it Quote
Dan Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 This is inevitable, Porsche are "branching out" and it will be a bargain second hand beause it will depreciate like hell. I saw a Cayenna 4.5S go through Auction last week almost £4,000 behind book, nobody wanted it. Cheap car, but would you ? Quote
Dan Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Me neither and it says a lot that the Touareg ( same car ) with the 2.5 TDi engine is very hard to buy and always makes £1500 or more over book. Cayenne=bad news, Touareg=very good news ! Quote
Stew Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 The 4 door thing is ugly, so out of proportion. Te cayenne is not attractive but is a mad machine. It's brilliant on the road and very luxurious. For me the 911 is amazing but as Sinbad said, why use the design on all the cars. It works on the 911 and nothing else! Quote
Digsy Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I'm sure it will drive beautifully but good god its ugly. Quote
martinmac Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Looks a bit like a transformer that never really made it Quote
GC350z Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Porsches problem is that they want to break into other markets but the image of the 911 has basically been the same for decades. They have made adjustments to it over the years but it has effected sales. Remember when they changed the front lamps to a tear drop shape. I loved it but fans (customers) didn’t so they went back to the round shape. The style of Porsche is so set in peoples minds that I think Porsche are now afraid to experiment. Do they even do concept cars to gauge response??? Quote
H5 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Have they just cut and shut a 911 rear to a Mazda RX8 and then bolted the Cayenne front on!?!?! It's fugly!! Quote
N1SM0350z Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 that porsche is err naff to say the least Quote
