stichy Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Is anyone running itbs on there zed? What is the power gains and what ecu are you running? Quote
rtbiscuit Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 More hassle than its worth with minimal gains Quote
stichy Posted August 4, 2013 Author Posted August 4, 2013 Reason I ask is ive got itbs on my ae86. They didnt make much extra power but the throttle response is amazing and made the power alot more usable. I like NA power so wouldn't want to go FI Quote
rtbiscuit Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 It can be done, they have done in the states. But its setting it all up with an ECU. And the cost verses the returns puts most off. Quote
stichy Posted August 4, 2013 Author Posted August 4, 2013 Do you now of any US forums that might help. As im thinking about getting another zed Quote
Dblock Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I don't think it can be done on the stock ecu unless you have the ITBs in a box in sure? Quote
The Chubby Ninja Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 have a look on my350z.com and 350ztech. if you do decide to go down that route be sure to put up the build on here as ITB`s are sexy as fook! Quote
stichy Posted August 4, 2013 Author Posted August 4, 2013 I would be going standalone anyway. What are the common ecus that are people using? Quote
The Chubby Ninja Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I think its the syvecs ecu that abbey use and recommend but youd be better asking them Quote
ColinS Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Any excuse to post my favourite picture: Quote
coldel Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Not sure about Zeds, but on the VX forum the cost of ITBs is more than a supercharger conversion, which gives you less than half the gains. It sounds good, looks good, but if you want performance, its not an easy or simple path. Quote
ColinS Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 If you are looking at pure BHP output then yea, you will get less. But a N/A car is so much more usable. Quote
@well Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 after looking at every ITB option on the market we decided to make our own setup for the vq35, hopefully we will get these installed in a road Z with a plug and play ecu setup some time before spring! 1 Quote
The Chubby Ninja Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Thats awesome! Id love to hear a VQ with ITB's in the flesh Quote
SamN Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Like the sound of that, probably won't be cheap though! Quote
@well Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 the sound of this thing on the dyno is epic, as for cost everything is relative! also note the cast valve covers as the plastic ones were causing us grief. it's an awesome engine for sure Quote
Briggsybriggs1 Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Keep us posted looks a sexy bit off kit :-) Quote
